Superb

Beautiful property - Colonial styled old building, well maintained and kept. Must if you want to enjoy the feel of an colonial style stay but the food options were limited and taste could have been better considering the hospitallity of team and beautiful property

The location was nice, Hospitable staff, comfortable and spacious rooms.

The food quality, The room patio had grass that was overgrown, the staff aren’t trained well but they are kind, helpful and welcoming.

An excellent stay in this hotel. Peaceful and serene atmosphere

Heritage with modern facilities.

The hotel is in a well maintained Dutch bungalow with excellent breakfast, hospitality and warmth. This hotel has amazing vibes, the swimming pool is amidst green garden. This is best propoerty to enjoy heritage with modern amenities. Highly recommended for couples looking for solace, peace and tranqulity. The english breakfast is amazing with good fruits, juices, bakery basket, hash brownies, and pan cakes.

Lovely location and staff but a bit out of the way from/to fort.

The property was beautiful. Check-in was effortless and seamless. The staff was amiable throughout. The room was spacious. The AC worked fine, the bed was big enough for two people. The bathroom was one of the biggest I've seen. They had rainfall shower-type thing. Heck, the bathroom even had a fan in it. There's a small open area behind the room so you can smoke out there if that's your thing. WIFI and cable TV were free.

It was a bit out of the way. They offered to call you a taxi to the fort which was convenient but very expensive.

Great deal. Beautiful place. Worth the money.

Beautiful colonial architecture. Got a great deal and was worth every penny.

Food could be better and the floor wasn’t as clean as we expected.

Really enjoyed this hotel, staff were incredible, would be happy to go back.

Building and surroundings are incredible. Very very relaxing. Food is amazing. Chef offered to cook whatever we wanted, so took full advantage of the incredible fresh fish available every night - wow. Breakfast fantastic too.... Lovely pool, lovely room and amazing staff. An experience as much as a stay, would love to go back.

We got the Admiral Suite, which was a great experience in itself. Every meal we ate was delicious (mostly Sri Lankan delicacies).

Great place to stay, staff should inform the customers about additional charges.

The atmosphere of the hotel was very good and so traditional. It was very quite and calm hotel and we relaxed and rested. Big variety for breakfast as there was the option of western and traditional Sri Lankan one. The rooms was spacious and big.

The staff did not inform us that the our breakfast drinks (coffee and ice tea) were not included in the breakfast and we were charged. We found out the day we checked out. Also, in the bathroom of the room, the small wooden kind of window close to the shower has holes by design and loads of insects, lizards etc came into the bathroom.

Wonderful relaxing stay

A beautiful property with an excellent pool. We really enjoyed watching the monkeys and other wildlife while completely chilling in the afternoons. The staff were so wonderful and friendly.

Would have been great if you could get beer at the hotel….

A beautiful boutique property close to Galle and beach!

I love everything about Tamarind Hill, especially the staff. Naveen was very attentive and friendly as was all the f+b team as always!

A great place to stay no matter what the occasion.

Excellent Breakfast choice. Rooms clean and well presented Staff genuinely wanted to ensure you had a really good stay. The history of the hotel was fascinating and the hotel staff were able to tell the story

classic place with very good taste surrounded by beautiful nature

We loved the beautiful swimming pool, the garden , the colonial style and specially the amazing staff who were always available and helpful. A special thanks to sangueet who assisted us all the time we spent in tamarind hill.

We could not stop feeling like we needed to leave the place from the time we began our stay.

1. The furniture and architecture 2. The spacious rooms with large bathroom

1. The lack of professionalism by the staff - Which includes the manner in which they converse with customers and the intrusive/ constant knocking on the room door for silly questions, which could be sorted over a telephone call to the room extension. It was very hard for us to rest after a very long journey due to the constant intrusions. Staff came knocking much earlier than the time of checkout (11:30) on the last day asking us if we were leaving in a very unprofessional manner. 2. Horrible food with appalling flavour and a very small selection of food with a very strict selection policy, for the price one pays to stay here; unlike other establishments 3. The lack of respect to the concerns of the customer with regards to permission prior to entering for housekeeping. Apparently they had entered on their own accord whilst we were away, without asking first or atleast having a door card which indicates the need for privacy. 4. Dusty room with some lights not functioning and sand tracked on the floor of the room. This was the case even after the unintended housekeeping visit. The main disadvantage despite all of the above is that the food and drinks are too overpriced for the quality and the portion size in comparison to a similar competitor. Evidently it was redundant to rectify this with the staff, since clearly, it was not their fault (upon assessing how well trained/ informed they were), therefore, we moved on to continue our stay at another more appealing hotel as we could not bear to be ripped off any further. I honestly do not understand what people see in the service this place has to offer, apart from the beautiful house and the antique furniture. Tried it, was disappointed, not visiting again; but, that should not sway you..... perhaps this was a one time issue here. I do think it is worth a visit though. I do hope you have a better experience than us. Cheers.

Quiet and peaceful

Beautiful location.clean rooms great food and a lovely place.

The Ac needed servicing a bit too noisy and the garbage outside the entrance of a lovely boutique hotel is not a good sight

Tranquil hotel , very stylish hotel rooms - sophisticated in a colonial style

Amazing old style hotel very quiet away from the nose of the outside world , the rooms are decorated a tastefully quintessentially colonial style very classy with an amazing pool , no screaming children’s snd a place of utmost relaxation. The breakfast was delicious and they offer a fantastic menu for the evening time - highly recommend a stay here

Very enjoyable stay. We liked the fact that the hotel was a short drive away from the busy port/fort in Galle.

The hotel grounds were beautiful. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The pool was beautifully set into the landscape. we really enjoyed the warm welcome from the lady at reception upon our arrival.

If we had to find fault, I would say we would have liked bathtubs in the rooms. tubs were only available in the suites.
