Breakfast is a basic « French » breakfast, which is baguette, butter and Jam with coffee (or tea or else) and a small glass of orange juice. On the last day, we were treated to a croissant. What was lovely: having breakfast on the terrace with blooming vegetations and the gorgeous blue sky of the south of France. The staff was very kind and pleasant and especially the lady serving us breakfast every day. It is very laid back: for example, when we arrived around 6:30 PM, no one was at the reception but there were pieces of paper indicating where our room was. Two very kind ladies, who have come to Le Refuge every year since 2003, helped us find our rooms and get in touch with the manager, whom they have befriended. It turned out that the manager’s mother has serious health issues she needed to attend. The beach is right there and there are stunning walking trails starting just behind the beach. A place I would love to come back to!

There was construction just across the restaurant, so there was a little bit of noise but nothing really loud while we were having breakfast in the morning. And it should be done within a month or so. Not being able to pay by credit card might be inconvenient for some people. Also it seems one could not stay shorter than 5 days. A funny thing: a family of five wild boars seemed to visit the beaches in the area at dusk and no one seem to worry!

Room and all hotel were little older, but everything was functional. The mattresses of the bed were just as hard as I needed, comfortable. The terrace was well sized, and the view to the garden was normal. I would work more in the garden to improve it when the guests have a view. Parking spot was in good place, safe place. Surroundings, beaches, nature, trail by the sea are very good, hotel has very good location. The lady was very friedly, she did not speak English, but she tried to communicate and at least used a translator.

The hotel includes breakfast, but i am not sure, if it is common, that we had only bread, butter and jam. I asked about something else, like eggs, chesse, vegetable or fruit. They only make jam. Drip coffee and juice was good, but i got only jam. The lady brought me gluten-free bread and I appreciate it. But i think, that a lot of peope don't have jam for three or more consecutive days at the breakfast. And the rooms were very noisy. We heard the neighbors pee and flush. All the rooms had security door closures, but each time they opened and closed, the banging was too loud and annoying. When we arrived at the room after breakfast, a cleaning lady was cleaning there. She was very nice and hardworking, but I don't think we should wait for the terraces to clean up. I told her it was good, and I asked her not to go the next day because we wanted to have peace.

Very simple accommodation but also very charming with wonderful location. The person in charge of the property was exceptional. Very helpful and as charming as this very French small hotel.

Makes me feel home which i want to always go back. While staying here.The stuff didn't speak English at all but they tried to understand what we're saying and they helped us a lot. Which makes our feels so warm .I would definitely want to go back here again.

If the room has more towel and more bathroom's facilities will be very nice.

Quiet, Friendly, Relaxing

Lack of privacy if the doors is closed, but you can look through a door gap.

great location, right on the beach. perfect hiking possibilities right from the hotel with no roads in between. gorgeous sentier littoral with just nature, no houses on the way. great swimming at cap taillat!wonderful!
