Perfect hotel for your adventure in Galapagos

One of the most beautifully located hotels in Puerto Ayora. View from the room onto the bay is amazing and if you are lucky, there is local wildlife that will accompany you during your stay. We had two bluefooted boobies that kept us company during breakfasts. And the breakfasts they serve are delicious! There are not many choices, but the quality is excellent and meals do not get boring even during a longer stay. The hotel has an infinity pool and a hot tub, however if you want to use the latter you have to tell the reception desk so they have some time to heat up the water. All in all, this is one of the best choices for your stay in Santa Cruz island.

I would not recommend this hotel.

the location is convenient. I was able to check in early.

The beds are like wooden planks. The A/C is very loud and doesn’t work well, there were ants in the room, there was no extra toilet paper, the surroundings are loud. The pool was cloudy. Breakfast was poor.

I feel so good!

the location is breath taking. In front of the sea, you could leave your sliding door open all night and sleep with the sea breeze and the noise of the ocean!

it is old, nothing especial about it more than the great location and the people that work there are really nice.

Good

Lovely staff. We didn't like our first room because it was facing the bar so they moved us a few doors down. Great sized room, comfortable big bed, good bathroom and central location.

Since our room was on the ground floor, privacy is very limited. For the price we paid, I'd expect more. Also the bar area near the pool plays very loud music in the weekends so if you wish to sleep early it's very difficult.

Amazing sea front stay

The view of the seafront was so lovely and the sealions, heron , pelicans boobies and marine iguanas that hang out there ! Staff and facilities were very nice and it was so nice having breakfast with a view

We were given wrong information that the bay tour visit goes to las Loberia to see sealions so that was very disappointing. Also the jacuzzi was cold both times we used it and we had to sit in there for half an hour till it warmed up!

nice water from centrally located hotel, could be more guest-friendly

Central location on the main tourist street, in the town amidst restaurants and shops, close to the pier,walking distance. it is waterfront, the rooms are spacious and nice, balcony is nice. It has a swimming pool and jacuzzi. breakfast was average; timing from 6:30-8; while it is good that they have early time for the people that have day tours or other activities, but to end at 8 am!!

bathroom somewhat dated. unfortunately, as the jacuzzi requires reservation and we arrived in the late afternoon, by which point it was all booked, we could not use it - it was disappointing as we came from a tiring, wet and chilly ferry ride and were really hoping to warm up (they should send a message when guests are booking the hotel to inform them of this, so that they can book it ahead of time). breakfast ends at 8 am - if one was tired and wanted to rest during their vacation ( 8 am is not an unreasonable time to sleep in, after all), then they miss breakfast. checkout is 10 am, also a bit on the early side.

very friendly, great location and great view. clean and comfortable.

the only reason it’s not 10 for me is that the mealtimes are very restrictive. breakfast finishes at 8am and dinner is 7-7.30pm.

Wonderful, exciting, fun, great breakfast, great view from our room.

The owner was at the property quite often. He was more than helpful with everything including getting a COVID test. A sea lion actually dove into the pool one day which was awesome!

Solymar is a Must Stay for Galapagos Vacationing!

Just for starters. The Front desk was amazing and received us with complimentary cold towels and orange juice on a very hot day. The room was exactly as pictured and expected. Wedy and Al-Pacino the Seals at the front pool were a huge shock and awe factor. Restaurant and bar attendees were awesome people. Drinks at the Jacuzzi out front, pool cleaned almost every night. An actually good breakfast. It smelled amazing after room service. Hot water, AC was cold when needed. Extremely helpful front desk clecks with taxis and hints. Will 100% recommend and stay again asap!

Nothing I did not like. Maybe, slightly the early 10am checkout but the front desk gave us an extra 30minutes to get ready. Genuinely good people.
