The beds were comfortable and the room as able to get nice and cool during the hot days! Paula was amazing and gave us awesome advice for restaurants around the area. Made our stay! Brilliant place to stay - the location is amazing being right on the plaza and in the middle of the island.

Paola was an exceptional and memorable host - with amazing, personal recommendations, knowledge of the area, warm hospitality and helpfulness. You feel like you are visiting a dear family friend who makes every effort to make your experience of Ortigia the best.

This small B&B is a gem. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the old quarter. Our room was tiny but very comfortable. The balcony looks out over the square just like depicted in the photo. Our hostess, Paola, could not have been nicer. She provided some surprise touches (snacks for our evening glass of wine). And she let us have a late check-out to accommodate our departure.

Paula the host was very kind and helpful and gave us some great tips for the island. The location is unbeatable and the room is decorated very beautifully.
There were some issues with the A.C. but Paula was very attentive to them and was going to get it fixed straight away.

The room was so cozy and adorable, with an amazing little balcony that looked out over Ortigia. We loved the location, since we could easily walk everywhere on the island. In addition, the two owners were so sweet, responsive and helpful. Honestly, it was a magical experience, and both my wife and I immediately said, "We should stay there again."

Can’t beat the location. Cute and charming apartment in the middle of town. Paola was an excellent host. She was very helpful and friendly. I arrived after hours (simple process) and found a map in my room which got me started. The breakfast was simple but thoughtful. Highly recommended.

WOW! What a location... the view over the square is superb! One of the best views we have ever had. It was so so beautiful.
Step outside your door and you're in the heart of beautiful Ortigia.
Parking 30 seconds walk away, and the parking attendants take care of your car for you.
Host was so so lovely and helped us to find parking, showed us into our room, sent us a number of recommendations within Oritiga, gave us a map, and was just so welcoming. Lovely little breakfast provided in the room fridge also (Granola, yoghurt, fresh apple juice, water, tea and coffee)
Proper hairdryer which is fantastic.
Steamer available for use.
LOVELY strong and hot shower.
Room felt really safe with 3 locked doors to get to your room.
We highly recommend this stay!!
Due to being in the centre of Oritigia, the nights could sometimes be a little noisy.. (collecting rubbish, closing / opening shops / restaurants etc), but this isn't a big issue at all. Perhaps if you struggle to sleep then request a room that doesn't face over the square.
A full length mirror would make the room perfect :)

My partner and I have just returned from a weekend in Ortigia where we stayed at this beautiful B&B. The location is fantastic, a short walk from the Duomo and main Piazza with all the restaurants and shops you could wish for. The rooms were stunning with a bohemian, vintage vibe, the bed was really comfortable, it was air conditioned and we had a steady supply of yoghurt, granola, fruit and coffee.

We had such a great stay at Salotto di Maria Pia .
Paula was such a great host and did everything to make our stay even more unique.
The rooms are very charming &typical interior with a beautiful view on the Piazza Duomo.
The rooms where as well very well equipped with all you need for a lovley breakfast on the balcony (coffe machine, small fridge, cutlery etc)
The bathroom had Bio Wash and Shampoo and Hairdryer too.
We definitely recommend this place and We cannot wait to be back one day.

Paola is a rare beautiful soul inside and out, and her property reflects her taste, love and soulfulness. It was magic.

We could not be more happier with our stay. The room was perfect and exceeded our expectations from the photos. The view from the balcony is special, you look out onto the main square in central Ortigia. Very romantic. The decor was simple, elegant and had an authentic feel with the modern necessities. Everything was spot less, incredibly clean.
We were provided with granola, delicious fresh fruit yoghurt, water, coffee, nuts, biscuits. A special request was also arranged by Paula at request and it was better than I hoped for.
The hosts Paula and her partner Marco were perfectly accommodating. They provided us with fantastic recommendations for dinner, view spots, coffees and must sees. They have such a beautiful energy and we are grateful to have met them both. Paula is a large part of why the B&B is a must visit.
We will definitely revisit if/when we come back in the future.
Could not fault it, 10/10.
Thanks again

I was really disappointed with this place. I give it stars for being in a great location, and also because Paola (the owner) is very nice. However I was expecting this to be a hotel / B&B as listed, but it's more an Airbnb with daily cleaning service. It's a private home with 3 bedrooms all of which are rented out
Pros - a central location with a nice view (although Ortigia is so small, any location is good). The A/C works really well and the shower is large. Poala is very kind - she left free yogurts in the fridge daily for breakfast, and gave restaurant recommendations, and booked us a taxi, which we really appreciated
Cons - No wardrobe, no drawers, nowhere to empty your suitcase - really surprising not to have these basics at this price. You can hear every sound in the next-door room. The property overlooks one of the main squares, so you can hear everything happening outside - including at night and early mornings, as windows are not insulated. The booking says the rooms have kitchenettes but they don’t - but there is a mini fridge, kettle, and coffee maker. There is an unpleasant funky smell in the bathroom, which gets worse when you turn on the ventilation. I think this is common in these historic old homes. The bedroom was overlooked by an inaccessible weird mezzanine level. There are no common areas for guests, just a hallway with the 3 bedrooms. It's a real shame this isn't listed more accurately - it was not at all what I expected or wanted, as I was looking for a hotel/B&B, not a very basic Airbnb. I'm disappointed in booking.com for allowing this. The owner tried to accommodate us by showing us another room but we found this also to be very dark with minimal furniture.

The room is artfully decorated and super comfortable, plus little touches like yummy breakfast and decent coffee were fabulous.

Very pretty, clean room in lovely quaint & stylish palazzo - fantastic location in Ortigia; close to great bars & restaurants. Paola gave great restaurant recommendations which was very helpful - also assisted with the parking reservation which again was very helpful as parking in Sicily can be challenging & confusing! Although were were not expecting breakfast, there was fresh fruit, yogurt, granola & water provided both days during our stay which we ate on the lovely balcony overlooking the square! Also coffee making facilities were provided which were appreciated.

The Property (which appears to be an apartment now used for a hotel) is just off Via Roma, which I found to be one of the central streets in Ortigia. Everything is within walking distance.
Air Con worked well and with little noise.
Small fridge in the room was most welcome.
Shower was great.
Room was clean.
Beach towel offered before we could ask.
Recommendations of where to visit and on which side of the island to swim.
We would most definetly return if we were to visit Ortigia again.

The B&B is located in a perfect position near the Duomo. The house is beautifully decorated with antique furniture and quirky accessories. Our room was a good size with a pretty balcony looking over the street. The room had a kettle and coffee maker, and the fridge contained water, fruit juice, yoghurt and fresh fruit which was replenished each day, allowing us to have a leisurely breakfast each morning by our open balcony doors. There is also a bakery next door for fresh pastries each morning. The bathroom had good quality shampoo and shower gel and plenty of towels. The whole experience was perfect.
Nothing - it was all great.

Really great room in a fantastic location. The room was very nicely decorated and had a fun quirky feel to it that we loved. The little terrace outside is awesome. Paola was really friendly too and gave us some great recommendations around the local area which really made the trip.

We had the most magical stay at Il Salotto. We reserved the king room with balcony for two nights and when we arrived, we were already enchanted by the perfect location in the prime part of Ortigia. The home is charmingly decorated and the room has an incredible view over the plaza, as pictured, and a big, beautiful shower in the bathroom! Paola had a bottle of Prosecco and many treats waiting for us, something we did not expect, we couldn't believe someone could be so thoughtful and really it was something so special that she would pay attention to the short little note I made about coming for our honeymoon when I made the reservation. Paola was super attentive and responsive throughout our stay via Whatsapp. We almost felt bad bothering her so much with all of our questions. As a local, she also had great restaurant recommendations and overall was just so generous in spirit. After we checked out, she held our luggage in her kitchen and even let me use her own bathroom to change out of my bathing suit before we left for the train station! Who does that?! Sicilians are kind and generous people but Paola was a truly exceptional host. Though we were just there two nights/three days, when we left, I was sad because I felt like I was leaving a friend. If we come back to Siracusa, there is no doubt we will stay here again, in fact, if we can come back to Sicily soon we would probably make a special trip back to Siracusa just to stay at Il Salotto.
Nothing not to like. Checks all the boxes - location, affordability/value (especially for the location), cleanliness, character, comfort, and view. I would advise trying to reserve one of the larger rooms like the one we had if you are couple traveling with a large amount of luggage like us, the smaller room might be too small otherwise.

The location was absolutely amazing. It couldn't have been better, right by the cathedral, looking out on to the square. The B&B was absolutely charming, decorated with such good taste including antiques. And Paola couldn't have been kinder nor more obliging. The breakfast she left us at no extra charge was delicious, cherries, home-made yoghurt, etc :-)

Location was amazing, right off a beautiful piazza with views of quaint streets and restaurants, but room was quiet. Nicely decorated and clean. Roomy shower and good water pressure! AC worked well. Paola was great-helpful and friendly.
Not a problem for us, but a flight of stairs up from street level.

The location is unbeatable- convenient to visit bars, restaurants and attractions ( walk within 1 min literally). Pleasant street that is a major street yet it is cute and lovely full of shops ( Via Roma). The owner Paola is very warm, pleasant and helpful lady. The room is nicely decorated though a bit small for two people.
It is a B&B but breakfast is not included. instead, the owner placed some fresh food in our refrigerator each day - yogurt, cereals and strawberries. There is a coffee machine. but don’t use the tap water which is salty!! the room is a bit small to move around for two people. The room is quiet at night.

Very charming room, right above the central square in Ortigia. Easy walking to churches, temples, museums, shopping, all right close by. There is no parking here.
