I read sime bad reviews so was prepared for the worst. But it was actually a very nice and special place. Yes some humidity stains here and there. But the nice atmosphere, the location made up for a lot. And the soecially located pool was quite cold but you don’t feel that after 20 seconds. And from then on it’s pure joy.
Can’t think of anything, really. No hairdryer maybe?

Perfect location, walking distance to cathedral, restaurants and bars
Was not very clean. Drain in the bathroom sink didn’t work

Great location. Nice breakfast
No air conditioning - the room was very hot!

Good room in excellent location and parking in old centre of Metz.
Some of the hotel is still in need of updating

It was all OK except for the carpets throughout which were horribly stained and dirty. Well the horrible stains make them look very dirty. Not nice. Otherwise everything was great, thank you.
Dirty carpets were very off-putting indeed. And the very steep descent into the car park wasn't easy to navigate in and English car, with right hand drive.

The hotel has a lot of character. The breakfast was very good.
The room was in need of an update. The corridors are grubby. The access to the parking is very narrow and winding - a bit scary if you have a larger car.

Location
In the process and in the need of refurbishment

the place is beautiful - in the centre, we had view to cathedral from the room. Breakfast - good. Good place to stay in Metz also with dogs. Friendly to travel with dogs.
The hotel could be more clean and repaired.

Nice size older room with view of the pool and a pond, comfortable for us and the location was excellent with a short walk to Cathedral and the surprisingly excellent shopping precinct, very pedestrian friendly!
Bit noisy with window open at times even though a fairly quiet spot - conversations carried! Parking at St Marcel tight corners going in

Staff were friendly, good location to Metz
Wi-Fi didn’t reach my room, which was at the end of the hotel. The hotel smelt damp, the stairs had built up dirt, the parking was terrible, smashed glass bottles and glass from car windows, looks like it’s a hangout in the underground parking. Decor was tired and paper hanging off wall
Room had only one light at the side which didn’t light the room, the shower took a long time to heat up

It had no carpet and tiles inside the room. Also the bed was clean in white linen
The hallway and stairways was outdated, floors had carpet.

The hotel itself is fine but basic. The main problem is the underground car park that the hotel recommends, it stinks of urine, there is smashed bottles all over the place and it’s clearly being squatted in. Using the stairwell to get to the hotel is disconcerting and half way up, I came across the largest human turd I have even seen. it was perched nicely in the corner of the stairwell.
as above

What we liked? The location and the price. For nice snacks, try Los Amigos on the neighbouring street. The empanadas are delicious!
What we didn't like?
Here's the list:
To get to the free parking your car should be no larger than a compact car. To get to the underground car park, you need to drive down a steep slope at the end of which you have to turn a 90" angle to the left. Then you have to hope that nobody wants to leave the garage at the same time - otherwise, one of you must reverse either up or down the slope.
Plenty of free parking spaces, large, poorly lit and with lots of rubbish/litter lying around.
The elevator from the car park doesn't go directly to the hotel. So, when we pressed the button for the second floor, we ended up in a corridor with a homeless person sleeping on the floor.
Finding the hotel eventually, check in was of average quality, we got a real analogue key and found a room that corresponded with the key - style of the 70's/80's. The room, however, was clean, functional and with laminate floor. The room was towards the back of the hotel with a view of a water basin from the River Mosel.
The room was quiet on the first night. On the second night, we were awoken at 2.00 am by a loud roaring noise. The receptionist assured us that her colleagues were working on solving the problem. On the third day, early in the morning, part of the ventilation system in the toilet fell from the wall onto the toilet, covering the toilet seat and floor with black dust. Fortunately, nobody was in the toilet at the time. Talking about toilets; getting into the toilet is nearly as difficult as driving into the underground car park. I'm a slim person, doing sports every day and for me the toilet was very cramped. Turn left and you hit the fuse box on the wall. Turn right and you'll hit against the holder for the toilet paper.
The hotel was cheap and in the middle of the city - a combination which means lots of compromises. I can't understand how this hotel can display three stars.
Driving out of the car park was easier than getting in.

Dirty as hell, also the garage
Water through the windows
Big spots on the floor of the room and the corridor

We didn't tried the breakfast, because of the condition of the hotel.

Friendly receptionist. Reception was open after 21:00.
Room was grimy, smelly and hasn't been renovated for a VERY long time. My guess would be that the interior is from the 1970ies. Breakfast was very basic, we even had to cook the eggs ourselves.

location
it was disgusting, whole place smell mold we were afraid to touch anywhere in the room, parking was free but super small even we were slow and careful we hit the car twice parking place is not designed for parking. waste of money dont even bother

The location is good. It has free parking.
The double bed was about 135 cm wide, which is extremely narrow.

Loved the view and centralized location close to cafes, restaurants, and stores.
Getting from the garage to the hotel lobby was a little confusing. Suggest putting signs in English also.

Stayed overnight on our way to Germany. The room was quite large, with a comfortable bed. The location was excellent to visit Metz. Breakfast was offered but we visited a local patisserie.
Although the free secure parking was provided , the car park was filthy, (is a public car park). At the rear of the hotel the lagoon from the canal was disgusting!
8.0
The location is perfect to visit Metz! Clean warm rooms.
Skip the breakfast at the hotel and go get something from a bakery or the covered market.
There is a weird lagoon behind the hotel that was kind of dirty.
6.3
Very nice and hepful personnel. Big rooms and public areas. Free parking in garage, but be careful if you have a big car.
Well - about the famous (if you read reviews) wall-to-wall carpet... It really looks quite bad both in the rooms and in most public areas. But it does not mean that it could not be clean. All and all the hotel seems tidy enough. The owners should rip the mat out and go for hard floors instead!
6.0
Breakfast and the staff were fine. Location excellent being very close to the cathedral and old town.
The car park was very difficult to manoeuvre unless you have a small car. It was used by tramps as a toilet and stank. The bedroom was a little tired and would definitely benefit from a face-lift.
