The location to Aysgarth village means the property is central to all of the attractions of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the market town of Bedale, Hawes and the famous Hardraw Force, and the Wensleydale community run steam train. Nearby historic Bolton Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was held for a time, offers an interesting day out. The wider Aysgarth area offered inspiration for JM Turner who painted landscapes here and still serves today inspiration to the many landscape artists attracted to the area each year. For the more active, the local roads are excellent for the keen cyclist forming part of the annual Tour de Yorkshire through Wensleydale – with many routes of different levels of challenge cutting through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales villages and countryside.
