Best trip to kalimpong

I had travelled to kalimpong for the first time. It was one of a kind experience. I am coming back to this place.I recommend people to eat all their meal at Tenam. Garden in house restaurant mikoto .Binita who is the host Bidhya younger sister is a cook par excellent. I will back here soon. Since they are opening yoga and natuopathy.

A peaceful stay in beautiful environment, with a most welcoming family.

Despite having high expectations, from having read other reviews, my stay at Tenam Gardens still managed to far exceed my expectations. I cannot fault anything about the place. From the communication with Bidhya from the moment I booked, the perfectly clean and spacious room, the beautiful grounds on which the homestay is located, the food in the onsite restaurant, to the most important part, the wonderful hosts of the whole family, everything about this place is exceptional. Some homestays are little more than a guesthouse under a different name, but at Tenam Gardens you have the beauty of the privacy of your own spacious personal area, combined with a true experience of staying with a local family. I actually stayed longer than I had planned because it is such a warm and welcoming environment. Besides what I have already mentioned I should also mention a few other things. If you are a lover of plants, especially flowers then you are in for a treat when you see the gardens. If you are a lover of animals then you are also in for a treat when you meet the numerous pets of the family. If you are in need of information about the local area then you can't ask for better hosts. I came to this part of Kalimpong with a specific goal of learning some information about the local Dr Graham's Homes, and I could not have picked a better family to stay with to help me along that path. Tenam Gardens is a peaceful, quiet, welcoming retreat for those who want to be away from the hustle and bustle of central Kalmpong. It has taken my seventh trip to India to visit Kalimpong, and while this homestay might be a little away from the main part of town, I would happily return here on my next visit to India. In fact I can't imagine I would want to stay anywhere else.

Beautiful property, very good people, reasonable, great stay

Tenam Garden was exactly what we were looking for. Clean and homely place, very tasteful interiors, pet friendly, lots of natural beauty, beautiful behaviour, helpful owner and staff, good food, connection with nature, proximity to Deolo as well as town market, easy to avail transport, amazing bonfire and what not. The list is pretty long. This was my parent's first homestay and now they are in love with homestays and we will only consider Tenam Garden whenever we visit Kalimpong.

I didn't like to leave. I was having so much fun and relaxation there.

My stay at Tenam Garden was wonderful. Room maintenance, staff behaviour, hygene and service was very good. Rooms are spacious, food is tastier than expected.Hospitality is commendable. And the location is perfect with greenery all around and away from the noisy town.

beautiful place with people and amazing food

beautiful homestay with warm hosts and family. the restaurant managed by host’s sister is simply amazing, she is Japanese food expert and she is an amazing cook/chef. Nepali Thali was simply delicious and even her simple sandwiches were so good. whenever you are here do visit their restaurant, it’s all worth it.

Amazing

The place was excellent. We could experience the nature beautifully over there. Many plants and trees were planted there. The rooms were huge and cleanliness was well maintained. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

The location was a bit away from the town. Other than that, everything was great.

Breakfast was very good. In fact they customized it at times to suit our needs. The food was also well cooked, and presentation was excellent. The hosts took perfect care of us and even made good sightseeing suggestions. They were caring and kept in touch even before we arrived. The rooms very clean and ambience was good with a wonderful nursery attached to the property.

Perfect place for weekend rejuvenation

Rightly starting from the hospitality, food, decor, ambience and the openness, makes Tenam a perfect place for a weekend rejuvenation.

Bit lagging Wi-Fi...and mobile network issues....which I believe is nothing to do with the property 😀

It was a quiet and very comfortable stay in the midst of nature. The rooms as well as the dining space are spacious and nicely arranged. Vidya and Vinita are very caring wonderful hosts! The foods were delicious! Overall it was a fabulous experience Tenam Garden Holistic Homestay!

Overall it was an excellent experience at Tenam Garden.

If you are searching for a home away from home with lots of green natural habitat, good hospitality, good people, and home-cooked light food ......your search should stop at Tenam Garden. The room we stayed in was quite big and very neat and tidy. My perception of the tiny bathrooms in hilly areas got changed the moment I entered the bathroom, it was big, clean, dry, and all the amenities were in place. We met Ms. Bidya Rai, her sister, and all the other family members of Tenam Garden, they were all professional in what they are doing at the same time their politeness and humbleness will surely make your stay very satisfying. Ruke, the German Shephard, and Clio, the local breed are there to greet you with equal, if not more, enthusiasm! Last but not least, our little friend, the lovely son of Ms. Rai, with whom I spent time playing football and basketball... Overall it was a very pleasant stay at Tenam Garden for all my family members and I highly recommend this place.

Superb

Everything was cool, everyone was approachable and you will always see a smiling face. They can try to arrange anything you need. We enjoyed a lot. Only barbeque was missing they are done with that as well..next time we are not going to miss that as well.

I think parking space can be utilised in better way..little grass and chairs required for sun bath in cold weather.

The Best HOMESTAY we have ever experienced; Truely !!

The whole family is sooo warm and caring! We really felt comfortable and at home. It is a stay within the nature, enjoying great home-made food of your choice; Nepali, Bhutanese, Japanese customised as per your taste and preference. Drinking water is from their spring well filtered through aqua-guard. The veggies are from their kitchen garden, dairy is also fresh from their cattle. The host provides you with required information about local trails, hikes and routes to explore. You will enjoy a great service overall staying in this homestay!!

Comfort, convinience and fun within the heart of nature.

I’ll try to give details about everything about this listing - 1. Ms Vidya Rai - amazingly sweet lady who takes care about her guests and communicates every detail so minutely and ensures safety and comfort. She was very active in communicating the weather details, the road conditions and made sure that she arranged a car for us who made our journey from Siliguri to Kalimpong extremely comfortable. 2. The location of the property - a little away from the hustle and bustle of the Kalimpong town but not too far away from the town. The property is located in middle of a a lovely scenery. In case you want to go to the main town or market - it takes thirty rupees in a shared taxi from her place which takes approximately 7-10 minutes depending on the traffic. 3. The way the entire property has been well maintained. The design, aesthetics and upkeep is amazing. 4. The lovely food - we got to experience some amazing Nepalese cuisine and Ms Vidya and her family took utmost care and ensured that we didn’t have to eat out much (it was that tasty). Add to that, some lovely Darjeeling tea. 5. The lovely family - it made us feel at home. We got to know the family members and their stories. Anyone, looking for a place in Kalimpong away from the main town - I would highly recommend this place. Also please note - in case you need a cab from NJP or Siliguri to her place in Kalimpong - we were accompanied by Mr Andrew. the topsy turvy ride in the mountains felt so smooth due to him. Me and all my friends are grateful to Ms Vidya for hosting us and making us feel at home.

Tenam Garden Holistic Homestay- you are one of the best

Idyllic settings, comfort of home and the food tops it all, fresh from the farm and then cooked with love. Couldn't ask for better hospitality and never seen sweeter smiles from the host. The whole experience made us fall in love with the entire Kalimpong town. My son is especially ecstatic about the whole menagerie of adorable pets. He loves the humans on the property as well and he admitted that he never had a better time before, even though we usually live in Homestays for all our trips. Already making plans to visit again.

Dislikes are very little and too insignificant compared to what we liked, no actually loved.

Property has excellent greenary however there is no mountain view. It has Nursery of various plants and quite huge. Good and tasty food. Esp Momos were excellent. Wifi is available and its quute good. Staffs are very cordial.

As their kitchen is still far and inside the owner's house below, sometimes the food is delayed. But they are currently building a restaurant to shift the kitchen. That shud solve the issue.

Beautiful nature. Beautiful people. Excellent Food and Room. You will really enjoy your trip while staying at the homestay. Highly recommended.

There is nothing which feels you disappointed. Atleast I couldn't find it. The owner and dedicated staff (family members) never feels you disappointed. You will always surrounded by people with smiling face.

The.location is very beautiful and close to nature. This place is very well maintained. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the homestay owner. The entire family was extremely friendly. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the ambience I would highly recommend this place and I would definitely want to come back to this place again

The food could have been better and more customized. I was promised a better experience next time as this in house restaurant is under construction.

We came here to relax after a trek and we were truly rejuvenated. Bidhya and her family have a lovely home and the whole family makes everything to make you feel at home. We loved everything here, from the food (including the local Bhutanese curries, the fresh of the garden veggies), the 3 dogs and cat, the lovely garden and nursery, the spacious bathrooms and of course Bidhyass help in guiding us to the best places and helping us getting good rates with vendors. I highly suggest this home for a relaxing stay away from the hustle bustle of the city.
