'Braemore Woolshed' is a classic kiwi woolshed conversion (yes, grey crinkly tin!) with fabulous rural views over farm land to hills beyond. Direct farm access to Maraetotara river for swimming, kayaking and fishing. Simple comfortable furnishings and unique bedroom views into the barn. Open the louvres to enjoy the smell of newly cut hay from the adjacent barn or get a glimpse of the south suffolk sheep and speckle park cattle leaning over the rails. The accommodation includes freeview TV, fully insulated with heat pump heating, dish washer, washing machine, high chair, travel cot, picnic table, garden chairs, BBQ and use of kayaks. Please ask if there's anything else you need. We'll try our best to make your stay special. Wonderful place for family to experience rural life or base yourself to explore nearby attractions. Havelock North Village, Te Mata Vineyard and Black Barn Market are a 20 minute drive , Ocean Beach 25 mins and Red Bridge Cafe 10 minutes. Opportunity for children to enjoy farm pets & activities. Pick your own fruit from the orchard and gather a fresh egg or two for breakfast. Amazing skies for those who love star gazing! Braemore Woolshed is located down a private road (6km of unsealed/gravel). Just down the track from the Farm House (owner), in the heart of a working farm so expect farm activity/vehicles especially during hay making and pumpkin harvest. Strictly no smoking, fires or fireworks anywhere on the property.

20 mins out of Hastings amongst rural farmland and hills. Fully self contained woolshed house with a gorgeous view from the lounge and backyard, of rolling hills and farmland.
Farm animals were the highlight (donkey, pony, 2 baby goats, sheep, chickens). Daughters loved the animals.

Was great was nice and clean aswel as nice and peacefull they had sum small livestock that we were able to pat.

The converted Woolshed is great, rustic, exactly as you would imagine it. Mark and Susan are wonderful hosts and were very kind to our young children, letting them spend a lot of time with the animals. We loved Ocean Beach and the nearby wineries and different towns of the region.

Excellent property, clean, tidy with good instructions of its location and how to find / access it. All ameneties were great with big kitchen, nice living space and comfy beds and bedrooms. No problems at all, highly recommend.

It was just perfect for us - the girls loved the bedrooms and the animals being so close. The eldest one was just upset we didn't have time to go kayaking on the pond. Susan is a lovely host - highly recommend this place.

Absolutely loved staying at the farm. The kids adored the animals that they can freely interact with, the orchard and the river. We would love to stay again and stay for longer next time. Sue & Mark are making hosts, so friendly.

Comfortable barn conversion. Kitchen rustic but functional. Beautiful remote area and very peaceful. The gravel road does need some work and care needs to be taken.

Sue is a great host, we spent the day on the kayak at the river, picking fruit to eat and kids enjoyed play with the animals.

Susan and her husband were lovely and our stay was very enjoyable and our kids love the farm feeling. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back.

A wonderful stay. The barn was so spacious and well equipped. The hosts were so approachable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was so nice interacting with the animals daily and picking fresh plums straight from the orchard. A real five star experience.

The property is located at the end of a gravel track and is a lovely patch of piece and quiet. Plenty of farm animals for youngsters.

We really enjoyed staying here, very peaceful location and great fun for our 6 year old who loved the animals, kayaking and the accommodation itself. Would definitely stay again. Comfortable and well equipped accommodation

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, thus us the perfect place. Soooo peaceful and relaxing with great views surrounding the property. A family treat! Susan was awesome showing us the whereabouts of the property. Very clean and tidy house. Couldn’t ask for more. Will be going back for sure!

We had a wonderful stay, the perfect base for our family while visiting Hawkes Bay for a sports event. Everything we needed was right there, the property is really clean, the beds were REALLY comfy with hotel quality bedding and we loved the unique location. Susan was a very accommodating host and nothing was too much trouble.

Had a fantastic time at the farm. Great location- close to many hawkes bay attractions. Toddler loved roaming around finding lots of animal poo and eating breakfast with the cows. We will be back!

Sue was so welcoming and we loved the accommodation in this beautiful setting. The kids definitely loved seeing into the hay barn from the bedroom windows. The biggest joy for them though was spending time with the lovely animals (donkey, pony, goats and dogs) which made it hard to say goodbye. We’d love to stay again 😊

A lovely host. Farm yard animals, excellent swimming hole. extremely quiet, you can even hear the cows munching.
Plenty of games for a rainy day.
Unique view outside of the kids bedrooms.

My 7 year old daughter loved her bedroom with the hay barn view and playing in the hay bales. She had wonderful encounters with the wild, farm and pet animals (her favourites - Winston and Churchill, Nigerian goats; as well as plum picking in the orchard with Sue. So many children's books and family games to choose from - devices not needed at all (didn't have Vodafone reception anyway - great digital detox). A perfect base to explore remote areas of Hawke's Bay. Ideal for 4x4 vehicles due 6 km unsealed road - but our Funcargo was unscathed on several trips on 10kph speed, so all good. Sue is a lovely and generous host. She gave us a tour around the property, introduced us to the animals, and generously spent time to fruit pick (we had a good basketful of plums to take home) with us, and for our daughter to feed and pet the animals. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore the river, but the rushing water sounded beautiful and serene. We are grateful for this wonderful and memorable holiday.

Stunning location at the end of a long gravel road, secluded, private, with a quintessential Hawke’s Bay back drop. Easily accessible to nearby vineyards, coffee (the essentials) and other activities. Sue and her husband were great hosts, allowing us to visit the farm animals. The accommodation was clean and tidy, with a big kitchen. Would highly recommend.
