Perfect little spot. Clean, easy check in and out.

The unit was very dirty. I communicated with property manager with my concerns. Even sent pictures. I ask for a refund on the cleaning fees. The property manager ignored my request and cut off communication.

We had a wonderful stay in Kill Devil Hills. The host was great to deal with. The property was easy to find as well as centrally located to all the things we wanted to see.

We arrived after a 12 hour ride to find out that we didn’t have the building or condo number. Emailed owner who told us building B. I asked what floor she said top floor. We went up and put the code we were given in and opened the door. Long story short. We were there Sunday to Friday only to find out it was someone else’s condo when their daughter wAlked in Friday To check on an open window! Finally got it straighten out. Had to move everything Friday afternoon to rental. Spend 2night and it was as beautiful as it was on the Vrbo post. We had no idea that there was another building behind the one that was B. The door we entered at first was unlocked that is how we got in easily. They had a key so we used that to come and go. Need lots of specifics when giving check in information. The place we actually rented was beautiful in every way.

Well this place let me down a bit, photos of the place do not completely reflect what is currently the condition of the unit, One main thing to expect is emptying a dehumidifier right in the living room 1 or 2 a day, gets that much water into the condo, even with the HVAC forced air system working, Our experience may differ from yours but upon arriving we could smell the mustiness in the air & I had to empty it right away.. Also there are dampness catchers hidden everywhere so this is a known issue by the owner. Also in multiple rooms the ceiling popcorn is dropping because of wet issues, current or fixed.. doesn’t matter you can tell they painted over them to hide the fact there’s mold growing on the windows and probably elsewhere.. I have photos. If that was the only thing I would have given this place a 3 star & moved on.. But, when we got there we spotted a few cleanliness issues, & you know as soon as you start spotting a couple, you don’t trust anything else. the place was vacuumed and sheets looked tucked & ok but from my personal view everything was just surface cleaned quickly.. but ppl are out there getting monkey pox from sleeping on other ppls sheets & things not cleaned.. these are just true facts we are living with. So other things: utensils.. some of the spoons & cooking wear had not been thoroughly cleaning & had food bits on them.. Master shower had plastic razor blade case laying in tub. Also clear plastic wrapper with like a soapy goo on it.. also both shower enclosures are on the older side & both have yellow epoxy fixes from cracking. Clothes washer is a front loader & you know if you never clean the rubber gasket ever… it molds & smells well that’s happened over a long time here & I tried cleaning it off but the wipes got so gross.. got as much as I could off.. We did a few loads and everything came out a bit smelly, we can wash our stuff at home. The outside furniture doesn’t look as the way it does in the picture, it’s dated and all tore up, in fact was able to get a picture of the culprit with a stuffing full of cushion in his little squirrelly mouth.. but looks as if they have been at it for some time.. because all the cushions have been flipped.. We made the best of it.. but it definitely wasn’t a great few days, contacted the host, she was polite, got back to me promptly. offered to repay me only the 60 cleaning fee, thanks … but is really nothing. Two days lost. Hope this helps future vrbo-ers.

PROs: This is a nice property. Beds were super comfy. The pool was open during off season which was great. The price was great! CONs: We had an issue with cleanliness, but owner was quick to resolve it. There were a few cockroaches in the home. We didn't get a access code till an hour and a half before we got there which had me super stressed (I had to ask for it). There was no checkout information (I had to ask for it). The dryer tore some of our clothes. The washer has mold and algae growing in it and it smelt bad. Overall: We would stay here again if we had too but not preferably.

The property was exactly like pictured. It was a short drive to the beach. Our week was so hot that we spent a lot of time enjoying the pool on the property as well. It was centrally located and you could see quite a bit of the entire outer banks without too long of a drive.

It was a very great experience! We will for sure be staying again!
