Great location, lovely bright, clean bedroom, bathrooms and kitchen. You get your own shelf, cutlery, crockery and glasses, food drawer and allocated bit of fridge in the kitchen and there's loads of room in there. There's a lounge you can eat or hang out in if you want to. The staff were really nice and the pub downstairs is friendly and nobody bothers you if you're alone. Never had to wait for the bathroom so no problem with not having an ensuite. Bus terminal is right opposite and the cool arcade with antique shops, AJ's diner and the wee museum is just around the corner.

Nobody showed me the kitchen and lounge so it was as well I remembered it was there. I'm not really complaining though because the guy who showed me my room carried my bag upstairs! The pie and mash isn't £6.99 either, which I think it was in the pictures on Booking.Com. I couldn't get Netflix or iPlayer on the tele because it wouldn't connect to the internet but I didn't ask anyone for help and I'm not a tele user usually, so I'm not really complaining about that either. Maybe some instructions would have been handy.

The staff were lovely, and the venue is a great and safe space for veterans. The room was bigger than expected and comfortable, with good facilities. The location was also great, and we had lovely sea views.

It was far too noisy (and this comes from someone who lives in a noisy bit of London). I completely respect that downstairs is also a bar, but I don't think it is appropriate to loudly play live music late into the night when you also house a hotel above you. This kept us awake and made the stay much less comfortable. I think the hotel should make potential guests aware of this and soundproof the rooms better or think through how to make this work for hotel guests, as having both doesn't work - it literally felt like music was being blasted inside our room (even the floor was vibrating). There was also no soap in either of the dispensers.

Great location and excellent value for money. As I travel to the island often visiting my son this was reasonably priced and comfortable.

It is noisy on the front but I was aware of this, it didn’t ruin my holiday as I sleep like a log but the early morning hovercraft starting up woke me at 5-6am
