Salty Beach - Heated Pool, Waterfront on Intracoastal w\/Boat Dock, Near Beach
About this house rental
Nestled in Butler Beach, this lovely house for R 5,492 per night is a great option for your next trip. Our Salty Beach Retreat is on the Intracoastal canal with heated pool and water views! The sunsets are amazing near our home. Enjoy deep water access and world class fishing just outside your door. Cook up your daily catch for friends & family in the "over the top" backyard entertainment space. Complete with a private heated pool with waterfall and large lawn area - this will be the go to spot for friends and family! The interior of this newer home is just as amazing. Great floor plan with view of the pool that can be enjoyed from almost every room. The kitchen is bright and airy with white cabinetry, new electric cook top, stainless steel appliance package and center island. The Treasure Beach community is a rare find! Situated on the quieter, southern end of Anastasia Island, the community enjoys a canal system that offers direct deep water access (no bridges). Enjoy a night 'out' in your own backyard at one of the many wonderful eateries nearby. The beach is just a short 2 minute drive away. The history of St. Augustine is incomparable with almost any other on our coast. Founded in 1565 it is chock full of amazing places to visit, from the oldest house to the first schoolroom, to the impenetrable fort built by the Spanish. Lincolnville, just south of downtown St. Augustine takes you on a walking tour of the history of the civil rights movement noting where Martin Luther King stayed on numerous occasions. Needless to say, there’s also so many unique shops, and the restaurants are so varied and truly have an international flavor! There are things to do no matter the weather! You can take a free boat ride to Fort Matanzas and learn the history about the battles fought. Further south is Marineland where you can swim with dolphins! The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are always concerts at St. Augustine Amphitheatre and events at Francis Field as well. You will never run out of things to do here in St. Augustine. It is probably one of the most beautiful places in all of Florida, and for sure one of the most photographed! Come and see for yourself! Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house. The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup. If you have a large family and need a second location please inquire with the host about our other property that is nearby. The dock is not a floating dock and the canal depth rises and falls with the tides, the middle of the canal is still approx. 6ft even with low tide. You will have to make sure that you have enough line attached to your boat so that when the tide goes out the boat stays in the middle of the channel. The best place to rent a boat is probably at Devil's Elbow. We would encourage you to rent it for the day and then return it back to Devil's elbow at the end each day. Devil's elbow is just down the road, maybe a 5-minute drive away. The pool heater thermostat is set to a temperature between 78 and 85 degrees F, depending on the time of the year. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 58 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated. Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled. We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. Please purchase trip insurance for your stay if this is a concern. EV Charging: There is a fee of $5 per day if you will be charging an electric vehicle at the home.

Beautiful home, great accommodations, and close to everything. Would highly recommend.

The house was very nice and well appointed. We really enjoyed the pool, dock and fire pit. We had our Thanksgiving dinner outside on the patio, a little chilly but fun. Check in was smooth, the house was clean and we had a wonderful time.

We had a family wedding in St. Augustine and this was a great location for us to relax nearby. We loved the pool during our late Oct. stay. The house had everything we needed!

We really enjoyed this property for its amenities, especially the pool, as well as its premier location near the beach, downtown St.Augustine and more.

We came to St Augustine for sons wedding. We brought family from 8 to 80 well actually 4 to 80. Place was perfect for all, some enjoyed the pool while others just relaxed in the lounge chairs, some fished. Very spacious house, laid out very well. Really enjoyed our time there. Not to far from Beach and only 20 minute drive to St Augustine.

It was the perfect place for four of us to come down and surf/fish for the week. Outdoor space is great, caught a few fish on the canal, the place was clean & well stocked, pool is great, neighbors were friendly, and we even had some daily visits from the local green sea turtles out back. Will 100% use this rental again!

Had a great time with family and the property was perfect - very comfortable, pool great and a wonderful place to relax in the Florida sun. Very close to the beach, fun activities and dining.

Absolutely one of the best places we stayed, but have to pay attention to the rules. Great location for beach and historic St Augustine. Didn't have any luck fishing but had an awesome time enjoying the house and pool. Would definitely recommend this rental!!

It was a nice visit.

Had a very pleasant week. Pool was a definite plus because it was so hot that week. Was a little tight for 10 people, but we made it work. Furniture needs a little upgrade, but everyone had a wonderful time. Thank you!

Our family of five adults stayed at Salty Beach for our vacation. Not having rented a house before, I wasn't sure what we were getting into. Everything about this property was amazing. The house was clean and spacious. The pool area was beautifully designed. We spent most of our time there. When we return to the area, this is where we will stay! Thank you, David for the hospitality! Awesome experience!

We stayed here as a family and loved it! The hosts were very responsive when we had questions. The pool was lovely. We went to crescent beach that was close and it had plenty of free parking.
We loved the book with food suggestions. We had a great experience at the recommended restaurants!
Great size, location, pool, and price.
Thank you for letting us stay!

Tired home interior in a transitioning neighborhood close to beach access. Home could use some deep cleaning. Pool area by far the best home feature. First floor layout awkward and needs remodeling with first floor bedroom not really a bedroom...no closet. Ample supply of dishes but limited supply of cookware. Dishwasher didn't work but property manager offered to replace it on our last day. All in all, we were with family and enjoyed our time together.

Everything was as expected and was the perfect setup for our family. The airconditioning worked great, plenty of hot water for showers, pool was kept in excellent condition. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Neighbors were friendly too!

We enjoyed the home, specifically the pool and pergola. A relaxing trip with a well stocked kitchen, and easy drive to the beach, St. Augustine, and even the Daytona International Speedway. Plenty of room for our family of 8.

We loved the house, the pool and patio. It was so nice to be so close to the beach and many excellent restaurants. The house had everything we needed.
We did leave behind an expensive kitchen knife and would love to have it returned if possible.

This property is in a quiet neighborhood where you can relax by the pool or drop a fishing line at the dock and do it peacefully. We were able to access several beaches within minutes by car. Booking was so easy and far from stressful. Anytime we had a question there was immediate response. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy such a beautiful home!

This is a well- maintained, well-managed home with plenty of extra touches. Very thoughtful owners. We will definitely ask about staying here if we return to the area.
(As a veteran, I’d suggest replacing the flag pole & holder. High winds keep knocking it down.)

Perfect house for our family reunion. Plenty of space, wonderful pool, well stocked kitchen, quiet neighborhood, and easy access to shopping and ammenities.

This house is such a beautiful home, perfectly nestled in the heart of butler beach. And the owners was terrific with all the questions and concerns we had. I will definitely be staying at this place again

My husband and I along with our dog stayed here for 10 days in mid January. The property was lovely! The house was clean, incredibly well stocked and very comfortably furnished. The outside area was impressive! Beautiful pool and pergola as well as a huge paved patio which led to a dock on the canal. The area was just a short ride to beaches as well as the city of St. Augustine. We appreciated the contact with David and Jen, they sent reminders when pool would be cleaned, etc.,, I believe if you would need them you would hear back immediately.
Definitely don't miss out on this property, it's a gem.

The host was very quick to communicate and welcome us. The house was lovely. Cold weather didn't permit us to really use the pool or beautiful outdoor area, other than that the stay was very pleasant. Furniture and beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels, utensils and cookware to use for the 7 of us. The neighborhood was very very quiet, which is really comforting since it was not so far from the main road. The drive to local restaurants and Downtown Saint Augustine was a breeze. Super convenient location. We all agreed we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

This is a nice property and handled our 6 adults, 2 toddlers and an infant very nicely! Safety fence that keeps toddlers from escaping to the pool is very helpful. Pool and patio area is very nice. Nice green space for the kids and the dog to play. Very clean. Kitchen very well furnished(and we cooked a lot). Very nice jacuzzi tub. Master BR closet was perfect for a portable crib. Plenty of privacy inside and outside. Quiet area. Close to the beaches for the Atlantic and the river.

This was a great place to stay ! It was clean and simple but well equipped. I would stay again !

we had a very nice stay! we were very pleased that the owners were able to get the grounds back to "normal" after hurricane Ian!
the back area really is the draw...the pool and the pavers with the pergola for eating and the fire pit for s'mores! it would be wonderful to have cushions on the pergola chairs. the area was lighted with a fan which was really nice! the pool custodians came on thursday. morning. they were very friendly and professional.
the pool gets deep quickly without any notice...beware! but once you know its fine...we loved the way the area was gated so children could never get to the pool unattended!!great safety feature!
the kitchen was well stocked. the hosts even offered a crockpot if there wasn't one there. we ate all our meals at the house except for a yummy taco lunch after leaving the beach one day but there is def a lot of eating places nearby!
the neighborhood was fine.
the house could def use some upgrades, but was fine to use the way it was. nothing major....the bathroom vanities were old. the owners say not to worry about scuffs and dings in the paint etc because they do a deeper cleaning 2 times a year. i may have liked to have that "deeper" clean before we went. i wont get picky on here because overall it was a very nice stay. beds were very comfortable! def not the "look" of luxury, but not ugly either. but YES! to the comfort!! sofas in the tv room could use new cushions, seems they are just worn thin.
general cleaning (bed linens and towels, countertops etc) was very good! the towels were fluffy and soft and smelled yummy. i usually take our own bed sheets and make the beds no matter where we go but i didnt here. (i took them but chose not to use them because i trusted the cleanliness)
we were so thankful that we got to go and recognized the owners had some cleanup to do before we got there so we could use the property for a long awaited vacation!

Wonderful Home
We had such a wonderful vacation!! The home was perfect for the three of us and our pet. Close enough to the beach and near most of the nice restaurants. The pool was a a plus and the fenced in yard was something we really needed. The host were very eager to make sure our stay was a pleasant one. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We would surely stay again.

Nice sized house, updated kitchen, beautiful outside patio in the backyard with a nice pool, and a deck for some quick fishing. Owner was very responsive and very easy check in process. Have some board games to play and didn’t run into any problems with utensils (wine bottle opener, plenty of glasses, etc). It was nice having good filtered water from the fridge so we didn’t go through a ton of bottled water, and the icemaker seemed to keep up.‘s
A couple small negatives; The beds all look like they came from the budget line from IKEA, I don’t care what they look like as long as they fit me 😂. Also even though it’s clearly explained that you have to bring your own extra toilet paper and paper towels, I found that a little tacky. Same with there only being 6 beach towels for a house that fits 10 people. Not a deal breaker but I’d add 4 more towels if I was the property owner - who knows maybe someone stole them.
Also while we stayed, there were 3 beds with a sandy sheets, and the owner said they’d talk to their cleaning crew about it. The top bunk bed had a weird plastic sheet on it too, kids didn’t like it.
Plenty of restaurants, grocery store, and a coffee shop in the area even though it’s a 15 minute drive to King St. Got some awesome pizza delivery and saw the sunrise on the beach since it’s only a couple mins away from beach access. Got to take our little dog for a run on the beach too! Very dog friendly!
Over all, I’m glad we stayed here and I’d stay here again.

Nice!
Overall we had a wonderful time. The house was clean and comfortable. The pool was very enjoyable and convenient. Neighbors are friendly. In all, the only disappointment was i brought my boat and the dock has no floating section which rendered it useless when the tide is out. Probably an oversight on my part but i discussed with host for future renters.

We spent every afternoon in the pool and every evening on the dock. Loved the location and the house. A perfect vacation spot.

This is a challenging review to write. All four guests talked at length about this property - all four being seasoned travelers, and my spouse and I being owners of two, 5-star properties. In a nutshell, this property is optimized for securing pennies and profit. Barely enough supplies (and cheap ones at that) to get by. No touches of welcome, it is clearly not owned by owners, but a commercial rental, which is not VRBO's vibe. The check-out list is onerous compared to the value.
Here are the pros:
- excellent backyard space (but pool heater was broken, we did get our pool fee back with no question, thank you)
- bright and cheery
- cute decor and great layout for living
- property manager was quick and responsive and did what she could about the pool and small items we needed
- ample dishware (for outside too)
- the dock is lovely, maybe add a few chairs out there?
Cons:
- neighborhood is uneven
- we found some unclean dishes, including a pot with crusted goo rimming the entire inside
- no oil or spices you would expect
- 1 bathmat for 3 bathrooms, no guest hand towels, 1 cheap "two-in-one" shampoo/conditioner, 1 bar of soap for 3 bathrooms
- no tissues, skimpy on toilet paper and paper towels
- could not find measuring spoons, blender, no dish liquid, used kitchen sponge provided
- no charcoal for grill, nor wood for firepit (not required, but really?)
- 2nd shower needs a grab bar, nothing to hang onto for slipping or shaving, etc., and floor slippery
- 2nd king BR has a foam mattress on top of a metal frame so it was lumpy. Not comfortable & gave one guest back pain.
- no seating in any BR
- hot water ran out before the master bathtub was 1/3 full (even after manager turned up temperature, the hot water tank was just too small)
- fireplace in LR is not working, never has been, but not noted in listing that we saw
- fan in half bath not working
- place is superficially clean, do not look too closely, very chemical smell which triggered headaches in two guests. Examples: gunk, dust, and random items behind the TV; window sills are filthy; couch had a funky smell that all four noticed once the overwhelming Fabuloso smell wore off.
All four agree this property has so much potential. With investment in small, personal touches and true care for an exceptional experience, not just to squeeze the last ounce of profit, one would feel much more welcomed and we would be writing a much different review.
