Location was awesome! Some other reviews talk about no elevator, the place being dark and dingy. You go there to experience the HISTORY of this place, not all the frills and amenities of a Holiday Inn! If you aren't into staying at a 1800's spooky old hospital then don't stay here! But those of us who appreciate the history of this place and a chance to experience a ghost encounter, this place is awesome!! Staff went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel comfortable. Thanks Brad!!!
Nothing really. Breakfast was on the "light" side- special breakfast bread (banana), hard boiled eggs, fruit, orange juice, coffee. It would be good to have a breakfast "buffet" toaster, cereals/milk, microwaveable "breakfast" sandwiches, gluten free options. They just don't have a large staff to do an expensive breakfast service. They're doing the best they can with the staff they have. Maybe expand the housekeepers role to preparing breakfast (if interested).

good view, so much to see with Bill giving history, the bar was appreciated by visitors .The hotel itself has soo much to see.
very steep hill, difficult to walk - not part of property.

historic building, decor stayed close to historic theme, bathrooms modernized,
noisy neighbors at times, walls a little thin, but it is an old building

The property has been renovated nicely since my last stay, around ten years ago; rooms were decorated in unique patterns and colors which added a nice ambiance. Love all of the art displayed in common areas; especially the recycled glass mosaics!
Very limited choice of breakfast options; could only pick ONE item from a list that included juices, water, bagels or muffins.

The breakfast is good during Covid but now that most of us are vaccinated perhaps having a larger breakfast bar would be nice. Even if there was a small charge for it. Brad the owner is very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and takes the time to talk to you about it. Bill the bartender is extremely helpful and accommodating.

it used to be an old hospital and we enjoyed the ambiance

Staff was super friendly, great vibes, awesome bar, unique rooms, comfortable beds, LOTS of history here.
I'm a pretty light sleeper and since this is an older building the sound from other rooms really does carry. If I would brought earplugs I would have been fine.

Really like to "old" atmosphere. Have stayed several times and will again.
The building was starting to show wear on outside. Not bad, but some trim and wood could be relaced.

I really liked the history behind the hotel and Brad, the gentleman who checked us in was a wealth of knowledge and we appreciated him taking the time out of his day to tell us the history of Hotel St Nicholas.
