About this house rental
Located in Mystic, this attractive house for R 11,531 per night is a great option for your next trip. The Captain Geo. Wolfe house, was built in 1810. Located on the Historic "Captain's Row" on the Mystic River with views of the bridge. We are only steps from downtown. Enjoy the River, the History, and all that Mystic has to offer. Sure, we're biased. But this house has the best of both worlds: sunlit indoor rooms, meticulously restored and furnished to embrace it’s history with a funky twist, plus plenty of outdoor space for entertaining, reading, or just lying around. There are great views of the Mystic River. Our kitchen is fully stocked with all the basics and equipment you need. In addition, we have items like, coffee, tea, creamer, and sugar. Plenty of condiments and basics. The main house has three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. second floor. The entire home has WI-FI, and is equipped with smart TVs and an Amazon Alexa/Sonos system. The family and dining room is spacious and cozy, and a great place to enjoy gathering with family and friends. We are located on the river, across from the Seaport and very near the famous drawbridge. We want our guests to know that their safety, and the safety of our employees and the community are our top priority. That is why we have added procedures, as recommended by the CDC, to our already rigid cleaning/preparation protocols. • Guest Access Guests have access to the entire Main House, with three bedrooms (One bedroom on 1st floor, two bedrooms on 2nd floor). There are two full bathrooms (one bathroom on 1st floor and the other on the 2nd floor). The Master Bedroom (Captain's Cabin) has a canopied queen bed and is on the 1st floor. The second bedroom (First Mate's Cabin) is on the 2nd floor and has a queen size bed. The third bedroom (The Hold) is also on the 2nd floor and has two single beds and room for an air mattress (we provide an air mattress.) Guests also have access to great outside spaces with a large back yard with tables and BBQ grill. The side yard off the kitchen is private (not shared) and ideal for morning coffee. The side yard near the driveway, is also equipped with plenty of lawn chairs and umbrellas. This side, is shared with cottage guests if the entire property is not rented. We also have bikes and Kayaks that are available to guests as well. This listing is for the Main House. There is an attached cottage. You can rent the entire property Main House and Cottage, just the Main House, or just the cottage. Our Guests will have private access to the entire Main House, the quiet outside area on the north side. Guests will have access to their side of the back yard BBQ area (Cottage guests have their own section of the back yard). All guests will have access to the side yard on the southern side.

The Captain's House was truly perfect for our recent stay in Mystic! We've been vacationing here for years and this was by far the best location! From top to bottom, the house was extremely clean, had the coziest charm and everything we needed for a relaxing week. Gerard was so thoughtful, checking in periodically to make sure everything was going well.
The kitchen was perfectly equipped with coffee & other items and the dining room was lovely if you like to eat-in. The outdoor patio space had gorgeous views of the river and the proximity to Main street was really convenient for walking to restaurants and shops.
We stayed a week but it felt like a month given how we felt so at home and comfortable in this house.

I will keep this review short and to the point....this is without question the best place to stay in Mystic without a close second. The only way we would be closer to the center is if we actually stayed on the drawbridge itself. You see where it is on the map so that is self explanatory. The house itself is simply perfect. Bedrooms, kitchen, living room, outside sitting area, parking / driveway, dining room....all perfect and precisely what you need. There is the connecting cottage where another couple had stayed...issue or overlap with them other than friendly hello in the morning and evening. You have all the privacy you need. The house is so cool as it is older but super clean and cozy. We stayed with 5 people and had plenty of space. Bottom line is that if you rent this house you will never want to rent a different house in Mystic ever again.

A group of friends rented this home to celebrate our 75th birthdays. The listing accurately portrays this property which is tastefully furnished in early American deco and has a well appointed kitchen and baths. Our two favorite things were the table and and lawn chairs facing the Mystic River and the proximity to town, restaurants and shopping. We would definitely rent this home again.

Wonderful location right in downtown Mystic next to the inlet/cove. Walkable to everything in town - shops and restaurants galore. Super host. Very responsive and quick to fix small issue with neighbor parking in our spot. Would stay again. Very nice place inside and out. Pet friendly, but no sign of pet presence. Shops and restaurants were very dog friendly. Everyone was happy.

Perfect location for a stay in Mystic. Great water views for relaxing on the inviting outdoor patios. And with traffic and parking at a premium you can walk most everywhere. This historic home welcomes you with a pleasant surprise that steps you into another era when you arrive. Thoughtfully restored. Use caution with the restored original floorboards but they add to the charm. Periodic decor yet all the modern conveniences. Spotlessly clean. Owner is easy to reach and quick to respond to any questions. Thanks Gerard. Had a great time.

We had the greatest time at this house! The house is perfect, location is perfect and it's just such a great New England vibe. The house is roomy and has everything you need. The outdoor seating area is perfect for having coffee or just hanging with family or friends. The property manager was also very communicative and friendly.

My husband and I and the dog enjoyed our stay at the Captains house. Clean, roomy, and well appointed, we felt that our comfort was thought about in all of the many touches, such as soft throw blankets around the house, very comfortable beds and the softest sheets you could have. We've walked down this street so many times in past visits to the downtown are of Mystic: It was great to experience! Beautiful antique home; with modern kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The furnishings are comfortable but true to the home. Right on the river and close to everything; park your car and enjoy all restaurants and shops. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay. The proximity to town is great. The view is fabulous.
The host was excellent at making us feel at home.
I will note this property has a lot of antiques and original (200 year old) pieces. It may not be the place to bring a young child or dog if you have any hesitations about them. I know my in laws still have a towel rack missing because their 5 year old grandson hung from it. If this sounds familiar get a babysitter!

The Captain’s House in Mystic is a wonderful blend of early 19th century architecture and modern comfort. Even our teenage grandchildren commented on the contrast. The floors, although worn, creaky and uneven in places are a real attraction. The house is warm and comfortably furnished. Gerard is easy to communicate with and shows a concern about our comfort while staying there. The location is perfect for walking into to town and yet minutes away for an easy drive to area attractions. This is our 2nd visit to this property and we will return again.

Gerard was fantastic. He was easy to get in touch with and checked in on us over the length of our stay.
The house is in the perfect location to walk around the downtown area. So you can park your car and not have to worry about finding space since there is plenty at the house.
You have to go to Sift and Young Buns. They’re owned by the same folks but has an amazing array of sweets and if you’re wanting a sandwich Soft is where you wanna go.
We went to S&P for lunch and got good info on where to get some oysters to bring home:)
We will be back in the near future.

From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The house is beautiful & relaxing. Parking was easy (since parking in downtown Mystic is not). Everything was clean and better than we expected. The beds were very comfortable.
Gerard was always available & replied quickly. We could tell he wanted us to have a relaxing time & wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. It was cold while we were there & he even asked if the house was warm enough (it was).
If you haven't been to Mystic before, there is information in the house regarding places to go, things to do & restaurants. We had our daughter, her husband & their two girls (age 2 & 5) with us & there were books & toys downstairs for them which they thought was great. I appreciate a place where children are welcome.
I have arthritis & the stairs were a bit steep so I slept downstairs. This is not a complaint, I am just explaining in case anyone else has trouble on stairs. It was great to have a bathroom upstairs & downstairs.
We will be staying there again before winter is over, I'm sure. Gerard made us feel very welcome & he was very easy to communicate with.

We rented this property to enjoy a weekend away before the holiday rush and to celebrate a birthday. It was exactly as described if not better. We loved the decor, the beds were comfortable, and we had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. It also was only a very short walk into downtown Mystic - just around the corner basically - making it easy to visit the shops and go out to eat on foot!

Got together with college friends for a few nights in Mystic. This house was great! Nicely apoointed old captain's house set in peaceful location on the river and just steps from the main shops, bars, and restaurants. Gerard was a great host - he was accessible, though we didn't need to contact him for anything. Checkin/checkout was easy. Loved Mystic and this quaint home.

This home was beautifully renovated and charmingly decorated.
Check in was seamless and Gerard was a delight to work with.
The amenities are far beyond what are described in the listing.
Just bring you clothing and some groceries and you are set.
The location can’t be beat and the views are so enjoyable.

We could not be more satisfied with our visit, all things considered. The property is as nice as advertised and communications with Gerard were excellent. The house is very well "furnished" and we all felt as if we "hit a home run". The location is superb, right on the Mystic River...about a 2 minute walk to all the shops, etc. We all are looking forward to a return visit and the Captian's House is our first choice. You can't go wrong in chosing this property.

Perfect home and amenities!
So glad we were able to stay here for 9 days over the 4th of July. Everything was perfect. The house is a blend of historic charm and luxury hotel amenities. Beds and bedding were so comfortable…all 4 of them. Bathrooms were appointed nicely as was the kitchen. The bikes and kayaks were in great shape and we used them almost daily. Location was perfect for the busy holiday week and we had ample parking and loved just walking to everything Mystic has to offer. Gerard communicated often and made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Thanks for the great stay!

Beautiful home, great location
Photos do not do this place justice. Well appointed and charming. The location cannot be beat. The only issue we had is a misunderstanding that the grassy area across the street is not for renters use to launch kayaks (as suggested in binder), it belongs to the next door neighbor.
Otherwise everything was great. Would stay again!
