If you're looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature and spectacular views this is the place for you. This cottage is also close to Huntsville, Arrowhead Provincial Park and Algonquin Park. We were able to hike both at the cottage and at the nearby parks. Our stay was amazing!!! I would go back again and can only imagine how beautiful it must be during the summer and fall seasons.

Regardless of the rent one pays, it's reasonable to expect clean facilities and a property in excellent repair with decent linens. Instead we found dirt encrusted screens and window sills, gaping holes in sliding screen door, peeling countertop, a dishwasher missing a side panel, bedding lacking a top sheet under the comforter and insufficient towels including none for drying dishes. The contract (which we did not fill out) asked that we leave the cottage in the condition it was found with provided cleaning supplies despite a cleaning fee.. We were asked as well to take our garbage with us; with no place provided to store our garbage we left a bag in a shed outside and, unfortunately, critters got into it and scattered the contents. We left this as well as another bag in the cottage, advising the owner of this. The highlight was the lake on which it is situated. No mention is made of the steep 80 degree incline down to the lake which took me, an experienced hiker, 8 minutes to descend. The route to the lake is composed of natural paths and stairways that are well placed with a deck enroute taking advantage of the exceptional view. We enjoyed the choice of sitting in the sun or shade as well as the canoes and kayaks. It is unlikely that you would ascend and descend more than once during the day due to the steepness and most would be seriously huffing and puffing on the climb back to the top. We're at a loss as to how an owner can be designated a "premier host". There was no welcoming or hosting provided; no instructions on the use of equipment or information provided on attractions or restaurants in the area. This property needs serious refurbishment coupled with serious cleaning to make it even marginally attractive. Look elsewhere for your next cottage holiday. We have chosen not to seek a rebate from the owner as we note another dissatisfied visitor was still waiting for her refund. We'd like to leave the bad taste in our mouths behind. Janet M Ottawa ON

Stayed at this property on Vernon shores. Really peaceful, nice property with a hot tub. Private dock and lovely clean lake to swim in. Lots of sleeping and dining space . Would recommend

This is a nice property. Beautiful views. However, it was clean but not super clean. range hood and stove were greasy. Also dis washer was full of dishes upon our arrival although they were clean. The only real drawback on this property is that the waterfront access is quite a walk down...about 15 minutes of steep walk down, rocky in some parts. This walk back up could be challenging for elders and very small kids. However once down it is beautiful but no beach or wading area just jumping off the dock. The Kayaks were fun and the hot tub also made up for the trek down to the water. Overall a very lovely and relaxing stay. The upper balcony was great for yoga and meditation. Also the driveway up to property was very steep as the house is atop a hill.

Cottage is in good condition overall - good view of the water - good privacy. Hot tub was easy to access and enjoy. Couch on main level is remarkably comfortable and provided a great spot for a few naps. Do not expect luxury - it’s a space enjoyed by many - so expect the cottage life mish-mash that makes it charming. For TV - bring your laptop to hook up to external services - despite many attempts by the property manager - we could not access any but basic cable (no DVDs or VHS to view) As a packing note - bring up all your extras. We did not have paper towel, dish soap, kitchen supplies like tin foil, dish towels etc. Only found 3 towels though we had booked for 4 adults. No flat sheets for beds, just fitted sheet and comforter.

Patio with hot tub overlooking beautiful lake. Very good supply of utensils, base kitchen appliances and other basic staples. About 20mn from Huntsville. Lots of room for a family with children and supply of games available.

I would double check w/propane b4 you go...there was none for our winter bbq but the hot tub was hot the place was clean and it was a spacious place for our family of 5.... Nazbur was so helpful and I would definitely go back trusting him as a very good host

It was filthy (unswept, kitchen not clean, bed linens ripped, bathroom dirty, used bandaid found in shower, fruit flies in garbage can upon arrival), the hot tub was broken, the fire alarm was ripped out of the ceiling, and the owner was rude and aggressive. The owner agreed to refund us part of our money and I am still waiting to receive the refund.

My family and our friends had great experience at the cottage. in the Labour Day week. The cottage is clean and well equipped. It is wonderful to have the hot tub, and the bonfire is a great bonus. The walk up and down to the dock could be challenging for some, and it could be slippery when it is wet, but is not hard for someone who like outdoor activities and hiking. We had a great week visiting this cottage with friends. The cottage is set up so that 2 families can travel together and have their own space. Cottage was equipped with everything we needed. We especially loved the hot tub (the view is gorgeous) and swimming in the lake. The dock is wide enough for hanging out on and the water is deep for jumping off the dock. We enjoyed using the 2 kayaks and canoes provided. It is a long walk down to the dock and the way back up is a hard walk but there are lots of places to rest. The view from the cottage is beautiful though. We enjoyed our stay.

Easy process, good communication. Place is lovely, we had a great week.

This cottage was perfect for our family with the two separate living areas. The property is well equipped and we would love to return. Hot tub is a perfect addition. Wifi was great for all the kids. Be prepared for a long walk down to the water. It’s tough getting back up the hill.
