Your stay at The Cottage on the Bluff will be the highlight of your Orcas Island experience! This charming home is separate from the other Deer Harbor Cottages, perfect for those who want a little more privacy. Enjoy a lovely view of Deer Harbor, a handmade log bed, and log furnishings. The kitchenette has a mini-fridge, stovetop, toaster oven, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. Outside, there are two decks facing Deer Harbor, with a four-person hot tub on the upper deck overlooking the Olympic Peninsula. The wildlife is abundant here, with deer, eagles, and hawks calling this property home. This cottage enjoys a great location, with beautiful views of Deer Harbor, the Olympic Mountains, and the Lagoon. The historic Deer Harbor Inn Restaurant is a short stroll across the property. The stunning landscapes of Moran State Park are 14 miles east, with the always-quiet Obstruction Pass State Park six miles beyond. Deer Harbor Reserve and Marina are only half a mile south as well. THINGS TO KNOW This vacation rental is not equipped with air-conditioning. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 1 vehicle. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation. The cabin is really quaint. It’s small but has everything you need and laid out very well. The bed was really comfortable but the hot tub is the best part. We used it nearly every day and loved the view. It’s also a short, easy walk down to deer harbor. The BBQ restaurant on the property is delicious and was a huge plus!

Great property. Had some issues getting towels and service to some issues we had. When a guest tells you the window a/c unit stopped working, don’t respond with a screen shot of UNIT HAS NO A/C doesn’t go with the picture of the unit I sent you back. It was poor that after you ask if we want another night and then call for another night extra night do discount was given. You guys were very difficult to communicate with. The refrigerator stopped working and we lost over $100 in food!

Excellent location by Deer Harbor Inn. Steps away from a nice BBQ restaurant. Family friendly. Games on the lawn. The pictures of the property are accurate. It is a very charming cabin perfect for a small group. Within easy walking distance to the harbor. True, you are not in Eastsound but it’s a small island so it doesn’t take long to get there. If you are looking for a little peace and quiet on your island getaway this is it. And the view from the deck can’t be beat.

From the moment we walked in, this little cottage felt so homely! There were tons of people outside playing the games & eating at the BBQ place right there in the front. We had a blast after coming back from all day at the beach. It was perfect!

Cute and simple little cabin. Had everything we needed for a vacation. The Tv has Roku so it made it simple to watch movies. The hot tub worked great and you can sit and watch the sunset or stare at the stars from inside it. The best part about this cabin is Matthew's smokehouse restaurant that is a 1 min walk from the front door.

The view is spectacular. The amenities were great nice bed, very comfortable. Nice little kitchenette a table and lots of deck space. Even had a couple of island black tail deer come by for a visit. Very quiet and close to town and ferry.

When we first arrived it took over an hour to get the Wi-Fi up and running, after that it worked ok but not what you want to do after a day of traveling. (You’ll have no service here). The pans and utensils all had to be cleaned by us prior to use because they were still dirty. The kitchenette was super hard to cook in (super small) and washing dishes was very difficult. All in all, for the amount charged for the cottage, we didn’t feel we got the best we could be offered. Orcas Island was beautiful tho and there were spots to walk along the beach close to the cottage which was a plus.

Loved the view and the hot tub. However with all the extra fees I paid over $700 for 2 nights. For a one bed plus futon. Although place was certainly livable it was certainly nothing fancy and I would not stay again at that price.

The cottage was actually larger than I thought it would be. It fit me, my husband, two kids and our dog just fine. Even though I called and double checked, there were no linens for the futon. But when I contacted Lukas, he sent someone within the hour to deliver the linens. Overall, a nice stay. The restaurant across the grass was very popular, we didn't get a chance to try since they sold out of food by 5:30pm!

We had a wonderful stay. A cute cozy spot with a great view. Even though it was amongst other cottages and right next to a restaurant we still felt we had tons of privacy. The cottage had everything we might need and we were so thankful we could bring our two small dogs.

It was super easy to stay here. Exactly as pictured and expected. All amenities and even hot tub towels provided. Would definitely stay here again.

Cute cabin, good location, but not clean at all
We got to the cabin and it was a beautiful area! Pretty quiet and private. However, upon arrival, we noticed that it had not been cleaned at all. The fridge smelled like rotten food, there were ants, the blankets hadn’t been laundered, and there was dust caked on the lamps. Overall, if the cabin had been cleaned, we would have loved the stay.

Lovely view, a few minor challenges
Great view and comfortable bed. Very small kicthen setup, but we got a lot of take out. Propane fireplace was set to go to 80 in the middle of the night, but we figured out how to go manual after that. A couple things could be fixed: ants, dirt and leaves in hot tub, running toilet, and incorrect sign about check out time (discovered when housekeeping arrived early/not early). Garden crew did several loud hours of weed whacking while we tried to take care of some daytime work needs. I guess there were more challenges than I thought, now that I’m writing this. None ruined our experience though. We enjoyed our stay.

Cozy cottage with a gorgeous view!
We loved staying at this cottage. It’s in a beautiful, quiet little spot on the island, about a 15 minute drive from the main part of town. It had everything we needed, and the private hot tub was a huge bonus! This is really the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. We will definitely be coming back.
The one thing I’d note is that the bathroom floor doesn’t have a rug and gets really slippery when wet- make sure to put a towel on the ground to avoid taking a spill!
