The property is as described, we loved the location and spent a lot of time at the beach. There is some vegetation growing over the dunes that the private boardwalk leads to but we could easily walk a few minutes to another beach access point. Joe was very welcoming and left us a bottle of wine and a card that’s good for a free breakfast at Jolly Rogers.

Great studio apartment off of a beach house, perfect size and location for a couple’s trip. Everything you need, a bed and bathroom with mini fridge and microwave, right on the beach. The extra large soaking tub big enough for two was a fun bonus. Joe was very nice and helpful.

Thr space was clean and inviting. The beach was perfect. Joe and CarolAnn couns not have been nicer. Breakfast at the Jolly Rodger was so good, we went two mornings in a row! Wish we had stayed longer!

Great place to stay for two people. Everything was as advertised. Having direct access to the beach was awesome. Joe & Carol Ann were perfect hosts. Would definitely stay here again! Ate at the Jolly Roger for breakfast & dinner both meals phenomenal. The fried shrimp was the best I've ever had! Can't wait to go back!

Joe was very responsive and all the extras were really nice. We so enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. We loved everything and are booked to go back.

The host, Joe, was nice and made us feel welcome. The room we stayed in was fine. It included a king size bed, dorm fridge, microwave, bathroom, t.v., ceiling fan, a.c., and a small cabinet to store clothes. It was a quiet area. There is a large fridge outside under the house near the picnic table. There are outdoor showers to rinse off. The only things I wish were different was there was no regular door on the bathroom for privacy and there was no closet to hang your clothes. There is a small utility closet that I used. Overall, it was a nice place to stay. Oh, and you are just steps away from a flat beach access.

We were very happy about our stay. Perfect for a couples getaway. Parking is beside your door. The beach is a couple steps away. No worry about parking or crossing the street. You are also walking distance from Target in case you need anything. We will definitely return.

Cozy room, right on the beach!

Our stay was amazing and the owners were very nice and gave us everything we needed and if we needed anything we were given their number to contact. The location was so perfect, cozy and litterally could walk right off the back deck to the ocean. We really enjoyed our stay!

Everything was as advertised! Very easy to get to the beach. The place was very clean and comfy! The wine and chocolate was very nice as well. The owners were very friendly and even though the weather was not the best we still had a nice quiet relaxing vacation! We would stay here again.

Booked this property for (3) nights, showed up after check-in time and never heard from the property owner ever again. He completely ghosted us and it took more than (2) days to get our money back from him. Incredibly frustrating experience and thank goodness we had extra $$$ to stay in (3) different overbooked hotels over those (3) days… We’ve never heard from him even to apologize…

I have vacationed in OBX my whole life. This was one of the best stays of my life. This is a quiet, relaxed, comfortable place with everything you need. And in a perfect location. Joe and. Carol Anne were perfect hosts. I can’t speak more highly of this experience.

Our rental was as described as on the site. Our toes was in the sand from the deck, the view spectacular! Our hosts were great! Attentive, respectful and special.

We found the owners to be very personable and warm hosts. The cost of the stay for the value was fair though the images on the VRBO website of the deck and boardwalk to the beach seem to show that these were from the rental room when they were actually from our hosts living space. The views from the rental room were of the street and opposite vacation ho.es. not the ocean and dunes. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our time at and access to the beach.

The property was as described. It was very clean. Beach access was easy. The bottle of wine and complimentary breakfast was sweet! We really enjoyed our stay. We saw Joe once and he was kind and asked about the property, any issues, etc.

Great place

We couldn't have picked a better spot to stay for our trip to the outer banks. It was a comfortable studio that had a private entrance straight to the beach. Our hosts were very personable and kind, and left us very easy to follow instructions and all the comforts we could ask for.

We really enjoyed the little apartment. It was right on beach, very private, and well equipped, and well maintained. The manager was very friendly and hospitable. We will definitely try to come back. Thanks for the lovely experience.

This room was perfect for my husband and I. The room is just as advertised. The owners are very nice and accommodating. They left lots of nice extra touches like a bottle of wine and bowl of chocolates on the table and free breakfast at one of the best breakfast spots in OBX. Easy access to the deck that walks out to the beautiful, recently widened beach. Everything was perfect. We look forward to coming back to stay here again!

The room was in a great location to everything. Beach, restaurants, convenience stores. We wanted for nothing; Joe had towels and beach chairs available as well coffee! Which is a big deal to me haha. The deck is a beautiful spot to rest and watch the sunrise. One review said it was a hassle to get to the deck because it isn't right off your room but it really was not a big deal. When you see the house and the set up, you get it. Enjoy it!

The room, located at the front (street-side) of the house, has a separate entrance up a short flight of stairs onto a tight landing. The room itself is comfortable but not spacious, and it has a very low (7') ceiling. There is a ceiling fan (mounted at the foot of, thus extending beyond, the King bed) which a tall person must be very careful not to hit their head on. We left the fan turned off so as not to create a worse hazard from spinning blades. Thankfully, the room has an excellent window-mounted A/C unit--a godsend in the muggy heat of summer. It also has a small fridge, a good Keurig coffee maker, a corner glass table with two small chairs, and one bedside table. The bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have a couple of good, low-slung beach chairs available to borrow during our stay. However, the unit does NOT have a number of useful, basic amenities, such as: a closet, luggage racks, a full-length mirror, a second nightstand, plastic glasses for the bathroom, or a comfy chair. The hosts are very nice and welcoming. They encouraged us to ask for anything we needed but we failed to do so--regrettably, because a couple of extra bath towels would have been nice to have, as would have a daily re-supply of half & half. (Why not just put a pint carton of half & half in the fridge for each stay and obviate the waste of all those little plastic creamer pods anyway?) Note: in order to get to that inviting boardwalk--which ultimately leads out to a very nice, semi-private deck with two chairs and a small table, and from which you have a lovely view of the ocean as you look across the sand dunes--you have to walk to the back of the house and then climb a flight of stairs to the large patio deck of the hosts' home, in the course of which you pass right by the hosts' living room picture window. For us, that made it hard not to feel like we were intruding on them a little--not that one can see, in daylight glare, whether or not they're even there. But inevitably, it reduces one's own sense of privacy somewhat. For us, it was not a big deal thanks to the 2nd deck (located at the end of that boardwalk you've seen pictured) being a good 50' from the house. Also note that you cannot access the beach directly from that rear deck because walking on the dunes is not permitted in order to protect them from erosion. Some beach houses have walkways built all the way over the dunes and then down some stairs to the beach, but not this one.

We stayed here for our honeymoon this past week, and it was wonderful. Joe and Carol Ann were great hosts. We had everything we needed, but Joe was always checking to make sure we were happy with the accommodations whenever we saw him. Complimentary breakfast at the Jolly Roger was provided (It's great, we ate there several times), as well as a bottle of wine and chocolate. Room was very clean and comfortable. It really was a wonderful stay, and we would definitely do it again.
