The view from the balcony is very good. The room is clean and tidy. It’s also near the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Observatory. I like it very much.
The air conditioner is not sufficient. At night, the room still feels cold. It’s not quite convenient to buy breakfast nearby if you don’t have a car.

love the rooms, they are big and the views.
the kitchen utensils look a bit outdated/ not cleaned properly.

- great location. Hidden away from the streets, but only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Hollywood
- insane view, really amazing to wake up to (Room 402)
- helpful staff (via telephone)
- good TV
- good Kitchen equipment
- balcony with furniture
- good sized room/bed
- bed sheets not changed while we stayed for 6 nights (towels were changed/bins emptied)
- room could do with a fresh paint
- shower head needs replacing
- there are no staff on site.
- should really label itself as Hollywood Hills Apartments and not Hotel, as it does not have the functions of a hotel, and from the outside looks like a motel
- not a complaint, but this hotel sits at the top of a steep hill, with no sidewalk. Worth mentioning for guests with mobility issues.
- was aware of this before, but you can hear people stomping about upstairs.

The view was nice and the room is spacious. The bed was a good size and comfortable.
We were disappointed with the Hollywood Hills Hotel stay for several reasons. Firstly, it is not as advertised – it shouldn’t be called a hotel in our opinion. There is no one working there, no reception or guest services. There are no facilities or anything to do there. The suggested way to communicate with the owners is through a QR code in the room that didn’t work at all. In an 8-day stay, the room wasn’t fully cleaned once. The bins were emptied and new towels given upon request. I messaged the owners about this, and they wanted me to pay $45 a night for the room to be cleaned – I wouldn’t expect this from a hotel. The ‘hotel’ is on an extremely steep hill that has no footpath or street lighting with cars going very fast up and down the hill – extremely unsafe – especially at night in LA. This meant we spent a fortune on taxis as we felt too unsafe to walk to and from the hotel. Once you get to the hotel you have to negotiate up steep stairs and then back down further stairs - difficult when you have suitcases. The hotel had very loud water features outside the door of the room that kept us awake at night as did the very loud late-night parties at the separate Japanese restaurant that also kept us up. The buildings look tired and worn on the outside. The doors on the room didn't feel like they had secure locks/safe. The website and booking.com page for this hotel make it look like the Japanese restaurant is part of the hotel which it very much isn’t – it has separate staff, lots of security and many cars coming and going. All in all, this is not what I would have chosen had I known, and I feel very let down because of it. I believe that this hotel is falsely advertised on booking.com. I have complained to booking.com but have felt ignored.

Location. Large space great views.
Some of the outside of the building is crusty. And the online check in and check out was difficult to understand.

Beautiful Location in the Hills of Hollywood! 10min walk to the Center of it all on Hollywood Blvd. walk of fame and other main attractions.
For the area that it’s at I expected a bit more luxury inside the room, but nonetheless it was very peaceful and friendly staff! Will be back again!

The view is incredible
The room smelled like marijuana and there was a dead rat in the hallway for hours on Friday

without question the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in, the carpet was never vacuumed. The tiled floor was never cleaned. I f I walked barefooted the bottom of my feet would get black with dirt.. The shower was horrible, it was impossible to get clean because of the lack of water pressure. the couch was so old and dirty it looked like the picked from someone's lawn.
And it was not even comfortable to sit on. The only redeeming thing was the bed, however I do not know when it was last changed. There was never any staff on duty on site if you had a problem you had to text whoever would answer was a mystery. In closing I would never suggest anyone stay at this hotel. I am extremely unsatisfied with booking.com, obviously they never checked the accommodations before listing it

I enjoyed the scenery—the charming cafe, the waterfall, the balcony's sunset, and the interior design. The other guests maintained a reasonable volume. The adorable kitchenette came in handy, allowing me to keep my beverage refreshed and cold.
The walls lacked sufficient insulation to dampen the noise from other guests partying after midnight on a weekday. Cigarette marks were visible on the balcony, and the area hadn't been adequately cleaned from the previous guests.

I loved the view and the space
There was nothing to make coffee with. I couldn’t take a bath cause there was nothing to plug up bath or the handle was working to stop up water.

The room was big, and hada a kitchen and bathroom. Good views of the city.
The way to the hotel is not safe, you have to walk uphill and everything is old, broken and in bad conditions. The pool is old, and in bad maintenance. All the building is old. Their promotional video is completely fake

Always one of our favorite places to stay in LA. The location, views, and size of the room can't be beat despite the drawbacks. Access to Yamashiro is an extra bonus providing walks in the Japanese garden.
This hotel is not for everyone. It could use some renovation (feels like it hasn't been updated in a long time), the staff is not very attentive (our TP was soaked in something blue and when we used the backup roll they didn't replace it so we ran out) and it does not feel entirely clean (the carpet in our room was old and stained and perhaps just dirty).
BUT - if it was newly renovated it would probably be unaffordable, so I am happy for it to stay the way it is.

The room looked BEAUTIFUL. Exactly like the pictures with great views of the city! Large room and all recently remodeled. Simplistic, cute kitchenette, fully equiped and with dishes available. loved the hanging plants!
I was not given the keycode to the gate at the main entry, luckily there were other guests nearby that helped us.
Tip: to scan the QR code from phone to enter room don't place phone too close about 4in away was the sweet spot we noticed.
The pool still was under remodeling so look forward to seeing how it looks when finished on our next stay!

The bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely view of the city.
The toilet had issues. Was constantly running water which got a little annoying. The pond by the stairs to the rooms had dead fish which it made it have a unpleasant smell. The pool was also closed.
8.0
Cleanliness if the room.
The on line check in process but that's only because I'm older and not crazy about technology. But once I got some help was fine.

The property is located in a hilly neighborhood with nice houses. It was a 20 minute walk to the main Hollywood drag. The room itself was new but had the bare minimum. The bedding was nice. View was nice
The exterior of the property was older and a bit more run down. I think some of the other units were residential? It sounded like someone was rearranging furniture in the room above me around 9pm. The room was super sterilized—it smelled of bleach for about 30 mins after we arrived. I had to open all the windows to air it out. It’s next to a very trendy restaurant so when we left the room around 10pm there were a dozen or so cars all trying to get to the valet—this would have been very annoying if I was trying to get my vehicle onto the propriety. The biggest disappointment was the the pool was “under renovation” which was the main reason why I chose this place and I couldn’t even use it.

This Place is Amazing I highly Recommend It The Views are None like it I Will Be Back To Stay Here When I'm Back In Los Angeles It Really Gives You The Hollywood Feel
Nothing Negative to Say About This Place

Room was beautiful
The hotel is located on a hill where the access must to be by car and safety wasn’t a priority, we have a bad experience with a young man under drug effects who wasn’t a guest on this facility
8.0
Comfortable bed, spacious room
Swimming pool in maintenance (during summer time), very strong smell of cigarettes in the room, mostly coming from the bathroom. It could be nice to add some stuffs in the mini kitchen such as toaster, pan etc. It can be a little difficult to sort everything once you arrive due to the lack of receptionists.
5.0
The view. The staff we met were very nice.
The noise. About midnight some guests had a loud party, then about 3 am people were laughing and shouting outside our room until they left. There is no staff after 5 pm on sight to help out.

The location is ideal. You can even walk to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame while staying in the hill. The room was a bit old but everything looked very clean. Most comfortable bed ever.
For the price we paid, we expected to have a more premium experience. From the outside, it looks more as a motel. Also, the pool was closed for maintenance in the middle of august.
4.0
Large room, plenty of space
Shower handle broken, cracks in the shower tub floor, dirty walls, strong cigarette smell, parking was inconvenient and difficult although we had to pay, parking lot in horrible condition

Price versus Quality. The pictures suggest a more luxurious hotel. Not worth the price paid for the stay.

It's near the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which might appeal to those new to Los Angeles.
This place was more like a run-down area than a hotel. It was very bad and not like the pictures at all.
There was no one to help at the front desk, and no one answered the phone after 7 pm and before 11 am.
The heater didn't work.
Everything was old, broken, or not working right. There was no safe for our expensive stuff like a laptop and iPad (total value $5k).
There were no extra blankets.
The pool was not working, and they didn't tell us when we booked and paid the deposit.
There was no good parking. All the spots were full, so we had to park far away on the completely broken road and walk up a hill. We had to pay $50 for two days of this bad parking.
I don't usually write bad reviews, but this was the worst hotel stay I've ever had.

The location was wonderful and secluded and the views were amazing.

Location and view. Size of suite/apartment. Decoration. Convenient parking.
No personal contact. My text complaint that I could not change (reduce) the very loud volume on the tv went unattended. I hit my shin more than once on the “invisible” corner of the wooden bed frame (black on grey carpet) until I placed a cushion to block the way!
