Won't choose again

The location is okay, that's about it.

The hotel surprisingly couldn't provide HOT WATER, and there was no explanation or indication of this in the room description on the website. When we brought this up with the staff, they simply told us to check the reviews. My goodness, providing hot water is one of the basic services of a hotel. Even if it's not provided, there should be a clear explanation, instead of asking guests to sift through reviews. The hotel doesn't take responsibility for explaining, but rather shifts the responsibility onto the consumers, which is incomprehensible. Moreover, the hotel staff's response to messages is incredibly slow, usually taking several hours to reply.

W hostelu zatrzymałam się na jedną noc. Pokój był duży , czysty, łóżko bardzo wyjgodne, wystrój etniczny. Bardzo żałuję

Wspaniali właściciele. Otwarci, pomocni, uśmiechnięci, bezproblemowi. W Hostelu były urocze małe pieski. Klimat tego miejsca jest niepowtarzalny. Sussie i Abel to piękni ludzie w środku i na zewnątrz. Wrócę.

Agradable, sí regresaría... Sólo mejorar la escalera de la litera.

La ubicación muy buena, el trato muy agradable, la decoración.

No hay agua caliente para ducharse, contrario a lo que puedan pensar de ser un lugar caluroso, siempre se agradece una ducha calientita. La escalera para subir a la cama de arriba es muy incómoda al pisar y está completamente vertical, quizá con alguna inclinación podría generar menos temor a una caída.

Home stay ohne Wifi

Abel ist nett und gibt sich sichtlich Mühe. Allerdings ist das Ziel ganz klar günstige Schlafplätze für Rucksacktouristen bereitzustellen. Die Lage des “Hostels” ist relativ zentral, ca 10min zu Fuß vom Fährterminal

Das Zimmer war als “Deluxe King Size” deklariert, das Bett war ein komplett durchgelegenes Französisches Doppelbett, es gab keine Handtücher, Seife oder WLAN. Auf nachfrage wurde mir ein ebenfalls abgenutztes& fleckiges Handtuch gegeben. In der “Gemeinschaftsküche” war Schimmel in der Kaffeemaschine, es wurde offensichtlich seit einer Weile nicht regelmäßig geputzt. Für mich geht diese Unterkunft im Besten Fall als Homestay durch, aber sicherlich nicht als Hostel.

Iluminación débil, no se ve nada por la noche. bombilla nueva para comprar. No hay aire fresco por la noche. Ducha de bajo flujo y olor extraño en el baño. Ninguna verdadera bienvenida.

Hier geslapen omdat het moest maar ik zou het niet aanraden

Goede locatie en goedkoop

Slechte service, totaal geen aandacht en enthousiasme richting de klant. Ik sliep op een gedeelde kamer waarvan de deur niet dicht kon. Geen wc papier op het toilet. Heel klein miezerig straaltje uit de douche. Geen sleutels, voordeur en kamerdeur zitten dus niet op slot en innorincipe zou iedereen je kamer in kunnen lopen.

עדיף להשקיע קצת יותר כסף וללכת למקום נורמלי

המיקום היה טוב, המטבח המשותף נחמד

ביחס לתגובות ולציון שראינו כשהזמנו ציפינו לחוויה שונה לגמרי. בפועל- במקום אין מים חמים ובמקלחת כמעט ולא היה זרם, כשהגענו המקלחת בחדר הייתה מלוכלכת והרצפה הייתה מלאה בשיערות, אין בן אדם זמין בקבלה או בטלפון כמעט בכלל (לא ראינו את האחראי לאורך כל השהייה במקום), החדר היה חשוך ולא מאוד נעים.

Brilliant hostel and diving school. Abel is great owner. We did fun dives and Open water cert with them. Room is very clean. Small hostel with 2 kitchens with gas cookers.

Perfect for scuba diving

Abel is a great ĥost, easy communication, nice little room with fully working a/c during super warm days. Great place to stay if you love scuba diving, Abel as setted up all the dive trip for us, and even found a last minute dive master for us as he was sick. Cozy and calm place, perfect when you wanna relax after a day in the ocean. Not too close from the over touristic places, so you can find real mexican restaurants, with good food and cheap prices.

spacious room but the shared spaces should be cleaner

good location. room was comfortable and spacious, although it has no closet or table, just a bench to put your stuff and two nightstands.

no one to check you in or out. dogs going through the trash. dirty kitchen rags. dirty dishes left for days. a single fridge to share with too many people. sometimes we ran out of water and the owner was not around to turn on the pump.

Disappointing

The price was right and location was not to bad.

The room was very hot and uncomfortable. Booked for 7 nights but only stayed 2 as found it to hot to sleep.

Nice room

Comfortable spacious private room. Kitchen facilities so cooking is possible. Outdoor terrace. Location very close to ferry dock and town.

Shower pressure non existent. The chill vibe meant I didn't really interact with any staff beyond a hello. I got a welcome email on booking.com with the owner's whatsapp encouraging me to contact him for recommendations, but I never got a response to my message.

Exceptional

Abel is an amazing host. Extremely jovial and knowledgeable about things to do not just in Cozumel but all over the world. You can also book your diving with him, fun dives, open water course, discover dives, all that good stuff. Great family vibe at the hostel and I will not stay anywhere else on future trips to Cozumel.

Better than a hostel

It's a really nice hostel with an awesome atmosphere. It has a very personal touch which I loved a lot. Wanted to stay for a night but kept extending :) 100 % recommendation

We loved staying here, the place was very relaxed and in a great location a few streets back from the tourist stretch. Abel was really welcoming and had great recommendations. He’s also a great dive guide and can help you organise diving in the area.

The location was okay and it was really cheap

You can enter the hostel from the street just pushing the doors and the doors to the dormitory have no lock either lol. There's an old shady cupboard to store your valuables if you have your own locker

Great spot to stay!

There's a well-equipped kitchen with a large fridge available for use. The bedsheets are really soft and there's only 3 single beds in the room so you can still meet people but it's quiet enough in the actual room to get a good nights sleep! There's aircon, a nice large terrace. The space is decorated with lots of quirky things which is really cool! The host is a scuba diving instructor so can help you if you're on the island to go scuba diving with info about courses etc. Close to a fruit and veg market and a great juice bar (Nacho Crazy Boy juice bar).

The only thing missing is a bathmat in the bathroom as when you shower water gets all over the floor

Worst Hostel I ever been into. (I'm long term Traveller)

Nothing. Worst Hostel Ever. A pity Becose if Managed well it could be a Nice Hostel.

No Sign of the Hostel, I was searching on the Street for 30minutes like an Idiot until a Women knew about the Hostel and She told me wich Door I have to Enter. There was a "Volunteer" at the Time I arrived, he showed me the Bed I could Sleep in. (That was the last time I saw him).For the rest of my Stay I would not see any Responsable Person anymore. The Hostal wast just left alone. No Water at All in The Hostel. Could not wash my Teeth, dont take a Shower, not Cook, Nothing. The Bathrooms where very Dirty and so the Kitchen. The Bedrooms felt Humid, no Ventilation, no Airconditioning, it was Horrible to Sleep like that. Internet, well aparently there was bud becose the Hostel was left unatended nobody knew the Password.
