3000 sf Cabin sleeps 14 on Lake Barkley reduced Aug rates
About this house rental
Our relaxing home away from home is a cypress log house on the Cumberland River and in the Lake Barkley area. It sits on 1.4 acres surrounded by woods and the lake with an amazing view from the deck. The home is located 5 minute walking distance to the nearest boat ramp, 4 miles to the nearest gas station, 4.7 miles to the nearest grocery store, and 5 miles (10 minute drive) to the center of town where you will find everything you need to make your stay perfect. When you walk in, you'll notice the great room of the house, which has been decorated with modern rustic design. This is also the main floor. This level is approx. 1200 sf and includes the living area with a 65 inch smart TV mounted on the stone fire place. The dining area consists of a modern rustic bench dinning room table that seats 8. The bar stools at the connected kitchen seat another 4. The kitchen has been completely remodeled with new cabinets, appliances, and countertops. The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you'd need to prepare meals and feed 16. The main bedroom is also on this level offering a queen size bed and full closet with it's own smart TV and DVD player. Across the hall is a full bathroom with a shower and separate tub. Upstairs is the loft/bunk room that sleeps 8. (great for kids and additional guests) One area of the loft includes a queen size bed and queen trundle. The connecting room has 2 twin beds and 2 twin trundles with a mounted smart TV on the wall. Note that this is a loft and does not have separating walls to the great room downstairs. The bunk room has its own full closet and a full bathroom with a shower. Down stairs from the main floor is the 3rd bedroom, laundry room, full bathroom, another small kitchen, and most amazing game room. The bedroom includes a king bed, full closet, and its own smart TV and DVD player in the hutch. The full sized bathroom on this level has a shower/tub combo. The utility room includes a washer and dryer with laundry soap, bleach, and dryer sheets. The kitchenette has a refrigerator and double sink and plenty of cabinet space. It is much smaller than a typical full sized kitchen but perfect for your game room gathering. The game room on this level is my favorite part of this house. It includes a 65 inch smart mounted TV, a full sized arcade system with over 15,000 games, a poker table with a full set of chips and cards, pool table with a ping pong top, a dart board, chess area, and many board games for kids and adults. There is also corn hole, horse shoes, and crochet sets that can be set up and played outside in the yard. The large game room also has an elliptical and a treadmill off in the corner for your fitness needs. Basically, once you go into the game room, you may never want to leave. Outside of the game room is a private covered patio with a BBQ. This leads to the plentiful open grass yard and to the lake. Stairs will lead you down to the water where you can shore fish or drop a kayak. The boat landing is only halfway down our street for more fishing and water sport fun. Outside of the main level is the wrap around deck. It it finished with enough lounging for 16 people. Relax and enjoy the lake view from the deck around the fire pit from our peaceful log home. Crichton’s Lazy Cabin manual Welcome to our home away from home. Our country cabin at the lake. Wifi Madalyn Password madalyn0202 Fireplace: Make sure the gas is on. This is located in the game room by the wall heater. Turn the knob to pilot. Click the igniter until it lights. • If it hasn’t been used in a while, this may take several tries. Sometimes if you take the fake logs out, it lights easier. Please turn everything off when you check out TVs and remote controls: Keeping remote controls in the right rooms of a home this size with as many tvs as we have can be a struggle. My suggestion to guests is to down load the fire stick app on your phone and use it as a remote if this becomes an issue. This is what we use when we are there. • Please remember to log out of any apps you’ve logged into at the cabin upon check out. I cannot be responsible for future guests using your account if you do not. Swim spa: this is located on the deck and is not operational. Please do not try to use it and please do not allow children or otherwise stand or sit on the cover. Dogs: There are a couple friendly neighborhood dogs that visit the cabin from time to time. They are friendly and they do have homes. Please do not let them in or feed them. Power outage: If a breaker flips, there is a locked closet down stairs in the laundry room. Call or message me and I will let you know where the key is. This might happen if there is a storm or if too many things are running in the kitchen at one time. • The weather in Tennessee is unpredictable. A tree periodically falls over in the neighborhood and can knock out the power too. Stewart County is usually pretty good about getting this up and running as quickly as possibly when this happens. You can always message me or just go to cemc.org and look at the outage map. They keep that very current. Critters: Tennessee in the country at the river is very lively. Meaning, during certain seasons you may hear hunters, you may experience bugs or poison ivy out in the elements, and possibly snakes. Just be careful and keep your eyes open when you’re out exploring. Swimming and fishing: Swim and fish at the lake at your own risk. The fishing is great down at the base of the property but it is not our favorite place to swim. Swimming is best in the channel outside of the backwater. Outdoor grill: We try to keep an extra propane tank at the cabin so that you do not run out while you are there. If by chance you do run out, go to the Pit Stop gas station off the highway and trade it out. Just get a receipt and shoot me a picture of it. I will reimburse this to you immediately. This has only happened twice in the last 3 years so it is unlikely. Checking out: We ask that you clean any dishes you use and start the dishwasher. Please take all the towels and wash rags down to the laundry room and start one load of them. Do not worry about laundry after the first wash. The cleaning crew will finish the rest. Please take your bagged trash out to the storage shed and put it in one of the receptacles. Lock up the same way you checked in and travel safe.

This place makes for an excellent get away! Everything was clean, check in was easy. The host was amazing and kept in communication when needed. One of the guests left some items at the home and the host made getting those items back super simple.

My family and I stayed here for a week and it was beautiful. Very quiet area with plenty of things to do within the property. We fished, went canoeing, grilled, played pool, ping pong, the arcade, board games and corn hole. So literally everything the cabin offered we took advantage of. The house was very clean upon arrival and had plenty of space for our party of 13. The property owner was very responsive and very quick to answer any questions we had. She's a phenomenal host. The only issue any of us had was how steep the stairs were that led to the lake and the steep drive up to the house. But after numerous trips we all got used to it and realized it wasn't that bad. I would definitely recommend this cabin and the host to others. 5 stars!

Good local grocery store nearby. Huge, beautiful cabin with plenty of separated bedrooms and bathrooms and large open kitchen, dining room and living room to hang together! Awesome steps down to lake if weather is good, but fire pit on deck if not

Our family of 10 needed a quick getaway not too far from home and this cabin fit the bill. The view was beautiful, house comfortable, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed hiking and exploring at nearby Fort Donelson and then chilling and playing games at the cabin. Sasha. the hostess, was fantastic to communicate with and answered questions promptly and graciously! We would recommend and stay there again!

The cabin was very large, with plenty of space to sleep. Some of the amenities are a bit outdated, but as far as room for 14, it was nice.

We really loved this location! The beds were comfy and the house was clean. It was fairly easy to get to even though the drive is a gravel road for about 1/4 mile. Not a big deal. Very quiet and a secluded location with lots to do on rainy days too! The steps to the lake are a great workout for the week! We did find a portal for our kayaks close by and then paddled to the house. We paddled the Barkley Widlife Managment area, the Cumberland River to the North - which has some limestone cliffs and also to the south - to the Ft. Donelson National Battlefield! This was cool since we had driven the tour a couple of days prior so we experienced both views! We also took a day and went to Dunbar Caves. It was close and very interesting! Was nice and cool on a hot day! This was a relaxing vacation and would come again!

TLC needed
PROS-Dock for fishing, big game room for kids, plenty of sleeping options. This home had many of the little touches that “home” has, throw blankets, more than enough pots/pans, dishes, soap, laundry detergent, towels….etc. I didn’t need to run to the store for the little things which always add up.
CONS- The path to lake was overgrown with poison ivy so my husband spent an afternoon clearing it. He of course needed a quick trip to the clinic for prednisone. The hot tub was full of frogs, lake was not for swimming, ping pong table broken, darts broken, grill rusted, bugs everywhere because there is a broken window with a very large hole in it so the temperature isn’t regulated and the the A/C can’t keep up with it….the owners know this because there is a sign on the A/c.
Take the $ and fix the house!

Great cabin, great quality time together. Main suggestion would be to clear some trees in the back for a view of the lake from the porch.

The property was very nice and accommodated our family of 12 comfortably! The game room was an added bonus! It was isolated, so a lot of driving time to area attractions,(Patti’s Settlement, water park and marina!)

Unique house in a quiet location. Close enough to town for supplies if needed. Open concept with loft sleeping (3 beds). Stairs down to lake. Great basement game room. Try to beat my high score in Galaga.

We loved the property! Everything was very clean and accommodating when we arrived. Everyone was comfortable there. We had a lot of fun playing in the game room but one of the futons needs repair. All in all- a great property.

Overall the house is great and has a beautiful view. We were disappointed that the spa wasn’t functional, but in fairness the listing does not say it has a spa. Would be nice if the description explained that even though you can clearly see the spa in the photos that it isn’t functional. However the property manager was great and accommodating and we really enjoyed our stay.

There was an issue with the air—the owner took care of it promptly & communicated the issue before our arrival. She had it fixed for us before we arrived. There were some cleaning issues in the freezer, bottom of fridge down stairs, down stairs linen, counter tops, and under couch, pans in cabinets ; however, the owner promptly responded that she would address with her housekeeper. She also returned our pet fee plus some to offer her sincere apologies for the inconvenience. The lake access is steep, but a great location for launching kayaks. There is a near by boat ramp that you can use too—if you paddle across the lake. We opted to paddle the kayaks to the boat ramp when leaving vs. packing them up the steep stairs. The fire pit on the porch was perfect for s'mores. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful home and location
Plenty of space inside and out. We brought our kayaks and enjoyed the access to the water each day. Lots to do to entertain us in the one rainy day we had. Plenty of our seating as well. Off the beaten path for privacy, but close enough to town that we could jump
In the car and visit some historical sites as well as the land between the lakes.

Rented a pontoon boat and had fun even though it was a cool windy day! Everyone in the area was super nice and friendly!

Great trip that revolved around cooking great food and relaxing. I was surprised how nice the kitchen was. It’s not close to shops or restaurants. Not much opportunity to do something on the water. Enjoy the views, eat food, kick back and relax.
