Compass Cottage is your perfect getaway spot. Built in the late 1800s, the cottage has retained it’s architectural style as a “breezeway house” with two front doors and many original touches. Centrally located to Glen Rose’s historic downtown, it is within a short walk to restaurants, parks, museums, and shopping. The cottage is filled with charm and equipped to make your weekend vacation or extended stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, a full kitchen, a dining room that seats 8, a bathroom with a clawfoot tub and shower, a washer/dryer (detergent provided), a front porch for relaxing and watching the passing traffic, and a partially fenced backyard for enjoying time outdoors. The cottage is on Barnard Street, the main road to downtown. A sidewalk takes you directly to the main square where the restaurants and shopping are located. The cottage is professionally cleaned after each guest.

This is an adorable old cottage. All the furnishings were very comfortable and tasteful. The fireplace was our favorite thing! Kitchen was bright and spacious. The front porch swing was nice. It was only two blocks from the square and an easy walk to the river. The road noise was the only negative, but we just didn't take that into consideration when we picked the spot. Over all we LOVED IT!

Loved every moment we spent in this wuiet town. My 2.5 year old is a dino fan and we enjoyed the stay in this place so much. Its her “
Green House”. She enjoyed the backyard to play ball. Swing in the oorch to watch all kinds of vehicles drive by( she loves cars so it was a bonus for us). The host was very accomodating and patient with us. Thank you for opening up a wonderful place for us . We made memories in every room of the house 🙏

Compass Cottage was the perfect place for us to stay. It is on the same street as the historic downtown, and we were able to walk to a number of restaurants and cute shops. It’s a 10 minute drive to the attractions we explored. The cottage itself is an incredibly charming mix of history of the area and modern convenience; the photos here do not do it justice. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed spending time in the home. Sarah, the property manager or owner(?), was very nice, and a joy to work with.

The cottage was beautiful and very clean. The beds were comfortable and all the amenities were in great condition. It is the perfect location to be within walking distance of the main town square, as well as just a few minutes drive to the local attractions. There was a big armoire as well, with toys and games that entertained my 7 and 3 year old during our downtime.

We have a 3yr old and 4yr old and they LOVED every second staying at the compass cottage! The location is perfect. Its walking distance from tasty restaurants and close to dinosaur valley exactly what we needed. The home was unique and adorable. I thought it was such a cute addition to have my name on the netflix account upon arrival. Small touches to show the home owner cares.

Oh my goodness - this cottage is precious and great for relaxing on the patio. We walked to the square for the Wine & Art festival. Great homemade pickles at Storybook Cafe next door as well as Crave and La Vita close by. It was a wonderful best girl friends getaway!

Quick Summer Getaway
We had such a fun time at this cute home located in Glen rose! There was so much to do around town including great food, museums n parks! Sarah was a wonderful hosts with recommendations and accommodations. The house itself was so cute and cozy my whole family really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful, well equipped home for our time in Glen Rose with family! Owner was great at communicating with us whenever we needed something. The home was so easy to walk to other shops and restaurants and a short drive to Dinosaur world, Fossil Rim and other attractions.

We had a couple of very minor issues and our host was prompt in addressing them. We highly recommend it and would love to stay there again.

We had a great stay. When you figure in the cost of food savings by using the fully stocked kitchen, we saved over $200 of expenses versus a hotel stay.

Great little cottage
The place is perfect. Neat, well located, and well set up for guest. Meticulously clean and well organized. Close to the main attractions and multiple places to dine and shop. Wonderful!
Perfect cottage, location, host- everything! Girls getaway was amazing. Walking distance to downtown. The coffee shop Crave will even deliver! But it’s a super short walk to get incredible coffee and food. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you!

Perfect for family trip
We had a wonderful stay here for a few days in Glen Rose. This property was super close to the town square so we could walk to eat and to shop, and it was a short drive to all of nearby spots (Big Rocks, Dinosaur World, and Fossil Rim). It was also super clean, beds were comfy, and we appreciated having a nice place to come back to each night. With 3 kids, we also appreciated space to eat, sleep and play. Definitely recommend and will be back for future stays.

Everything about Glen Rose was super fun and the cottage was a perfect home away from home!
Super cute cottage and perfect for my little family of 5! The location was wonderful, so many great shops and restaurants within walking distance. The communication couldn't have been better, any question I asked was replied to quickly! Wonderful all around and we all can't wait to go back!
