About this house rental

From the driveway, this 1920's home looks charming, like a vintage Sag Harbor village cottage. But once you enter, it's a completely different story. The inside is beautifully renovated and feels modern and spacious. The original owner kept the facade and then added a few thousand square feet out back, sparing no expense. You'll probably notice cool features like the Sonos sound system, Nest thermostats and super deluxe kitchen appliances. But if you look even closer you'll notice the extra things too - like the intricate tile work, copper gutters and hardware. I fell in love with this house for so many reasons. I'm a mom with two teenagers who are working remotely. With the bedrooms being spread out on three floors, there is tons of space and privacy. Additionally, the home office gives me a place to get stuff done too. The kitchen is a dream, especially compared with the city. It's large, even huge by my standards. The island is a great place for a morning coffee or a spot to hang out while I'm cooking. Another cool feature are the sliding doors from the kitchen to the main room. It means if I'm making bacon the entire house doesn't have to smell like bacon lol. The subzero fridge can hold your extras and there's a ton of pantry space. I have a drip coffee machine, rice cooker and toaster too. The living room is where we usually hang as a family. The TV is mounted over the wood burning fireplace. I also just added a dining room table for more informal dinners - in addition to the formal dining room that seats 8-10. The living room gets a ton of light, but if it's too much, then there are shades (electric!) to moderate the sun. The view is of the tops of the trees, the pool and jacuzzi. Although on a neighborhood street, it feels very secluded. The coolest feature of the first floor is the secret bar hidden in a closet off of the living room. The original owner threw lavish parties and he decked his place out to be the ultimate host. The first floor also has a queen sized bedroom with it's own full bath. I loved this feature for my mom who has trouble with stairs. On the second floor are three bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and cable TV. The bathroom is stacked with a jacuzzi tub, double headed shower and even a chandelier! The second bedroom (full sized bed) is at the end of the hall with its own bathroom. There is a second sliding door at the end of the hall to create a private space. Then there is yet another bedroom with a twin sized trundle bed across the hall from the master. For families with little kids this could be idea for your younger one or a nanny. Now, if you head to the basement you won't find a scary basement. Instead, our basement opens out onto the patio. The second living room is a perfect hangout for my teens and their friends. And the bedroom downstairs has a huge bathroom and overlooks the backyard. It's where my son hangs out and plays videogames lol. The backyard is a year round paradise. In the summer there's the saltwater gunite pool. For cooler months the jacuzzi and fire pit. I love how the fire pit is set down some stairs giving the house a few different levels. Off of the pool is a little barn like structure that's actually a gym! It has an elliptical machine, gym flooring, a TV and wall mounted AC and heat. Especially with what's happening right now, I loved being able to work out at home in a separate space. The other great thing (I know, too many) about the house is its proximity to the village. You can really leave the car in the driveway. On any given morning, I'll walk down to Harbor Market for their amazing chocolate croissants and coffee. Or I'll carry on another 5 minutes to Sagtown for a snack. A lot of village homes are smaller or don't have amenities. Mine has is it all! Ah, so I guess you can tell that I love my house and I hope you do too. I'm pretty selective about who I host only because I want whoever stays here to respect and truly enjoy their time. For longer term stays please message me - I prefer to have somebody here longer to reduce the wear and tear. Although this house is new to the rental market I'm an experienced host. I rented my place in the Berkshires (now sold) for many years with outstanding reviews. I have a full crew - caretaker, electrician, pool people - you name it. So if you ever need anything we are a phone call or text message away. Okay, if you've made it to the end of this long description, then I hope I've answered all of your questions. But always feel free to reach out. I look forward to welcoming you and your family. Grace
