Not much, we were glad to leave… luckily we only booked one night there
- Pictures outdated, tents are shabby and I found 3 spiders (one large one) and a frog in my room after check-in
- Moskito net over bed was full of holes, pretty pointless
- Pool was dirty, we didn’t feel like using it
- Lunch took over 2 hours to be prepared

The bush lodge was spectacular and inclusion of the plunge pool was great. Safari they put on was really good, best surprise was the breakfast in the treehouses. Don’t miss it

Nice and clean
Infrastructure for showers and electric was not enough for the facility’s, when (what I think generators change fase) ac does restart and change temp so you wake up freezing.

La tente avec la piscine
Prix trop élevé , pas de possibilité de se restaurer ailleurs que sur place

The staff led by Bandara were extremely service oriented. Food was plentiful, the cook was very talented and prepared whatever we wanted.
The bathroom had one wall half open to the outside and lots of insects entered. Rather unnerving. The wall should be covered or at least netted.
The entry steps to the common area and some tents need handrails because the rain makes them slippery. The greenery around the pools need trimming.

I had a wonderful experience at Tribe. Every staff member I encountered, from the head of F&B Bandara, Akram Hasha to our ranger dinesh and the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. Food was exceptional and fitted in our requests promptly. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Yala.

Super comfortabele glamping tent met als extra troef het zwembad.
Prijs-kwaliteit misschien iets te duur. Voor dat geld had het eerder een all-in formule moeten zijn

This is a 5 star glamping experience located in the middle of the jungle. The room is well airconditioned, very spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We had a lovely dinner under the stars. A delicious huge breakfast was brought over to our room in the morning. It was an experience using the jacuzzi in the wild too. We were given a complimentary early morning walk in the vicinity of the hotel. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the wildlife we saw. The whole concept is eco-friendly. The ideal location to start from or end the day for a Yala safari tour. Certainly worth staying at.

The location, the staff, the facilities. All were good and it give a unique experience that you may not find the same in many other places.
The toilets should be protected with nets. Big lizards can easily get into the toilet and shower place which may scare kids.

Amazing stay! Great safari!

It was a beautiful setting and the safari tents and recreational areas were really comfortable and blended in so well with the surroundings. The experience feels very special, authentic to the local area, and not flashy. The staff were incredibly friendly, kind and genuine. They went the extra mile at every turn. The plunge pool outside our tent was such a refreshing and welcome feature. We loved the breakfast and meals, and had such a memorable stay that our family won’t forget!
Special mention to Bandara and his team for wonderful hospitality and food.
Big thanks and kudos to our leopard spotting guide Dinesh (spelling?) and our super safe driver/guide. We had a wonderful trip to Yala National park and Tribe Yala made the whole experience even more memorable.
Nothing.

The whole experience was great: really well organized and curated in details!
The entire Tribe Yala staff works hard to provide a beautiful stay in nature with kindness and attention to all your needs.
Camp is beautiful, having dinner by the fire under the sky has no price and the Safari experience is so good as well!
Last but not least: we were three people with special need in terms of food - one of us was gluten and dairy free, another vegetarian - and they cooked yummy alternatives for each one of us.
Definitely recommended for a beautiful stay :)

Worst stay in Sri Lanka. DON’T BOOK!
Before we got to the place, things started going bad. We first booked a room for just one person, but when we told them we were coming as a couple, they gave us a choice: pay $40 more for the second person or join an expensive safari tour. It felt like they were forcing us. And to make things worse, the room cost less at that time than when we reserved it months ago.
When we finally arrived, the safari we went on was led by someone who spoke English in a way that was hard to understand. But the vehicle we got was really old compared to those from other companies. The ride was so bumpy that we ended up with back pain for days.
But here's the worst part of the story: when I entered our room, I smelled something strange and saw something moving behind the curtain. It turned out to be a huge rat (apparently, rats in Sri Lanka can spread a dangerous virus like rabies). When we told the staff, their solution was to bring in two kittens to catch the rat. They acted like it was normal because of the jungle setting. They offered us another room that was even worse—dirty, smelly, and really unpleasant to look at.
We tried to get our money back through Booking.com to fix this terrible stay. But the manager shocked us by refusing to give us a refund, saying the jungle location meant the conditions wouldn't be great.
Besides all of this, the food they served us gave us stomach problems. The food was not only cold but also not fresh (hard bread and pre-cooked chicken). The pictures we have show the truth—dirty surroundings, a bathroom full of mold, and a mosquito net that was torn and covered in holes, so we got bitten by mosquitoes all night.
Given everything that happened, I really wish we never chose this place. It completely ruined our vacation. To help you avoid the same experience, please listen to our warning: pick a different place to stay. There are many other places just 20 minutes from Yala that offer much better experiences for way less money.

Tribe Yala comprises a limited number of very cosy and intimate rooms. The super luxury tent is absolutely stunning, and food is served either around an open air dining area or a tree house with great views of the buffer zone, close to Yala National Park.
Great communication and kind/super helpful staff, always available for any questions we had.
Strongly recommended !
Food for lunches/dinners could probably be stepped up

We had a wonderful stay in Tribe Yala. Bandara and the team treated us well. We had a great morning safari walk within Tribe Yale and two safari drives with a perfect Jeep driver, knowledgeable guide and included snack & drinks. We relaxed in our own private pool and had great dinner under the stars. Breakfast is always served in the eagles nest at top tree level. The price is quite expensive but worth the money.

Our whole Tribe Yala experience was Incredible from start to finish. Exceeded our expectations, our tents were amazing, food was gorgeous from our under the stars bonfire dinner to our treetop breakfast with a great selection to choice from. We did a full day safari booked through Tribe Yala and we saw 2 out of the big 3, our ranger Dinesh was the best! Our driver was also amazing the two of them together were a great team and made a very special experience as a family even more special. Bandara and all the rest of the staff make you feel so welcoming, they have great communication with you and couldn’t do enough for you, they make you feel part of the tribe Yala family. REALLY WORTH EVERY BIT OF MONEY TO STAY HERE!!

The staff were super friendly and accommodating. I loved the morning walk, and we saw an elephant while on foot. The unit was comfortable, beds super comfy. We stayed in the unit with a treehouse and pool.
The only negative is the lack of things to do, if you are not on a game drive or eating not much else to entertain yourself with. We stayed for 2 nights and this was the right amount of time.

Absolutely incredible place! Tent was nice and clean with a small private pool. The staff was so kind and helpful and the breakfast and dinner was the best we have had in Sri Lanka. A great experience!
Nothing negative to say about the place.

Tribe Yala is a magical experience - we spent 2 nights in the Eagle Luxury tent and it was better than we could have imagined. The tents are very cool with all the amenities you’d expect in a hotel room but with canvas meaning you felt very close to nature. We could hear the sounds of the jungle all around us, on the first night there was a storm which was amazing being snuggled in the tent. We were in the middle of the jungle but felt very safe - especially as one of the camp dogs adopted our tent to sleep outside of like a cute guard dog! The weather wasn’t good enough for us to use the pool but it would be amazing on a sunny day.
We did a full day safari with Capt. Rajitha and the jeep driver. We were the second jeep in the park after they bypassed the queues having bought a ticket online which was great. We loved the whole day speeding around looking for leopards (which we did see at the end!) Capt. Rajitha and the jeep driver had such good eyes for spotting animals we saw so many things, including a couple of very close encounters with elephants! They also provided a delicious breakfast and big sit down lunch at the beach during the ‘no move’ time in the park. Was a brilliant day!
The best thing about our experience at Yala Tribe were the staff who made us feel like royalty. Bandura and his team did everything they could to make us feel special. We were the only people staying on the first night and we had a delicious candle lit dinner in a clearing. One of the best meals we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The last day breakfast on the tree top was also incredible overlooking the jungle.
I did a lot of research before choosing Tribe Yala and would recommend 100% for a unique experience at Yala National Park.

Nice Glamping, tasty food, fantastic "breakfest place" up in the trees,tailor-made game drive for us,nice short bush walk with a friendly ranger as well as water safari.
The very carefull staff trying to take full care of you is not everyones cup of tee - this can be sometimes disturbing, probably mostly for Europeans, it goes too far beyond your need of your own space.
You should also know that the staff will not allow you to make even short 100 meter walk away from the camp on your own, safety reasons.

We had such an amazing trip at Tribe. We were kindly upgraded to one of their nicest rooms, very secluded and a beautiful private pool. The food was great and we never ate in the same place twice. Dinner by the bonfire, a private dinner for two under candlelight, lunch by the river on the safari and a canopy breakfast with the birds! The staff there really went above and beyond. Our safari was great, and we were lucky to see the first black leopard at Yala ever recorded. Our guide took some great photos of the wildlife we saw and emailed them to us after. All in all, would highly recommend.

Bucket list experience! The staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make the stay comfortable. The room was perfect and so comfortable after a long day on safari! Loved relaxing by the pool and reading on the sun deck listening to the wildlife! Bandara the food and beverage manager is truly a king of hospitality! He made us feel so welcome and accommodated all our needs including making delicious vegan meals! Raj is THE guide you need if you want to know facts about all the animals you see on the property and on safari. We were so impressed by his knowledge and his passion for wildlife.
