At Lazy River Cottage, enjoy a 32' long covered sitting porch facing Little River, complete with a 5’ porch swing and 4 of your favorite rocking chairs. Lazy River Cottage has three bedrooms and a sleeping loft. There are two large master bedrooms, both with king beds, private master bathrooms, and a wall of windows with beautiful river views, one on each floor. There is a third bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and semi-private bathroom that is shared with a large sleeping loft. The sleeping loft sleeps four with two twin beds, each with trundles. Downstairs is "wheelchair friendly", not ADA compliant, with 36" doorways, a ramp from the parking area, and a walk-in oversized shower in the master bedroom on the main floor. The first floor also includes a half bath, a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, multi-cup coffee maker, microwave, island that seats two , dining area that accommodates eight, gas fireplace, and washer and dryer. The fire pit area includes adirondack chairs for enjoying the nights by the river. There is a sitting area by the water with a floating dock perfect for fishing, swimming, or kayaking. Lazy River Cottage accommodates a maximum of 10 occupants. Each accompanying child is considered a traveler. NON-SMOKING PROPERTY NO PETS PERMITTED Parking for vehicles is on-site. Four Kayaks will be available on property for guest use and require a signed waiver at booking. Additional kayaks and canoes can be rented just steps away at Desoto Falls State Park. Lazy River Cottage is three miles from the historic town center of Mentone Alabama where restaurants, shopping, banking, and service stations are located. The property is approximately 20 miles from The Little River National Preserve and VIsitors Center administered by the National Park Service. Desoto State Park Lodge and Restaurant is a four-mile drive. We are about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, or Nashville TN, a1 1/2 hour drive from Huntsville, AL, and 45 minutes from Chattanooga, TN. Look for the "Welcome Book" at the cottage upon arrival for food, recreation, and amenity information you'll want to know about. Our family came from California, Texas, and Alabama to spend Christmas together for the first time in many years! This property was beautiful and perfect for all 7 of us! The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and perfectly clean. The large living room with sectional couch, porches on the front and back, large dining table, and fire pit all were lovely areas for our family to gather.

We were so happy with our visit in 2022 we couldn’t wait to come back this year. So clean and comfortable with every amenity you could need. We especially enjoy the view of the river from the porch for our morning coffee, followed by kayaking. Stephanie is a terrific host who responds quickly to any questions you may have. Looking forward to our next stay there!

Outstanding 3 night stay. Many amenities in a beautiful setting a few minutes walk from the falls The house is relatively new, clean and fresh and which means a lot to us. The furniture and decor are also nice. Small point that might be a bigger point for others - not a fan of the two dead deer heads on the walls of the vaulted family room. Overall, highly recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This house had everything that we needed, including kayaks to play in the river. The bedrooms were plenty large enough for our pack and play, and blackout curtains in the master are a plus. We do this trip annually and plan to stay here again next year.

Everything about the cottage was exactly as pictured. It is very organized and spotlessly clean with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed kayaking from the back yard and walking or biking from the house to the waterfalls and hiking trails. It was so nice to not need a car. We would definitely stay here again!

Lazy River Cottage did not disappoint. Exceptionally clean and roomy for our family. The location and amenities were everything we were expecting and more. Stephanie does a great job with communicating details. We all enjoyed the slow mornings of drinking coffee on the back porch overlooking the beautiful Lazy River.

We had a great family vacation and loved the cabin. The beds were extremely comfortable and the cabin is beautiful. We loved having access to kayaks, it’s the main reason we booked the cabin. We really enjoyed taking them out. The best part of the cabin is the location. Desoto Falls is just a short walk down the road. We went down to the falls every day of our trip. We highly recommend this property!!

Could not have ask for more of a perfect place. From sitting on the covered deck looking at the river to kayaking on the river and having s’mores at the firepit! To be that close to the river and have access getting in and out from the dock with ease was perfect. Could not have ask for more to make our family get away the best ever. The house was perfect because of the lay out, and we choose this property because of the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. Made everyone’s stay comfortable. Plenty of room when we were all downstairs and sitting around the huge table for meals or game night. Highly recommend Lazy River Cottage.

We stayed on the property with 9 people and it was the perfect amount of space. The beds were comfortable and worked well for our kids to use the trundles. The bathrooms were amazing! We loved that there were four, and they always had hot water. The host was awesome and responded quickly to our needs and questions. She made sure to check in throughout our stay and communicated well. The check out list is very basic which was awesome! We loved the kayaks and the location. The hike to DeSoto falls and cave were a must do. We used the cabin location as a center point and spent one day in Huntsville at the US Space & Rocket Center and one day around Chattanooga on Lookout Mountain. Things to know: The kitchen has all the pots and pans you need but no random spices. Plan to bring in all that you need although there is shopping just down the mountain. The Dollar General does have a lot of groceries and there are groceries stores in the town. We stayed in mid-July and the fish weren't biting. We did end up catching one while kayaking up the river. You will need to take all your own fishing gear.

We enjoyed this house, all new and very nice. The guys in our family loved the kayaks and fishing in the river, surprisingly they caught quite a few in catch and release. The Desoto Falls is a short walk from the cabin. And nearby restaurants had some tasty meals, we especially loved Wildflower Cafe. It was a great choice , every detail was thought of.

Booking and check in was flawless. Actually met the hosts, they are very nice and helpful about the area. The house was so nice and accommodated all of us so well. Had extras too like the kayaks and fire pit for making smores( complementary supplies). Only complaint was no mop, lol, we have some clean freaks in our group. We really enjoyed ourselves and would highly recommend!

We loved it! The house and location were fantastic. Kids loved jumping and swimming around the dock or kayaking down to the falls. Great hiking nearby as well. Very peaceful and relaxing. We certainly recommend it for all to enjoy!
