About this house rental
Island View Guest Suites is named after the spectacular view of Vancouver Island across the Georgia Straight. A 20 min drive from the Langdale ferry terminal, our home is steps away from the beach and surrounded by the many hiking trails that the sunshine coast has to offer. A queen bed, kitchenette, laundry, sitting area, private bathroom, private entrance and covered patio with seating area, patio table and BBQ completes the checklist for a perfect coast getaway. This private suite with ensuite is newly renovated and can accommodate up to 2 people. The appliances and furnishings are new. Equipped with a kitchenette which includes a fridge, combination microwave/grill/convection oven , sink, toaster, coffee maker and a tea kettle, it is perfect for those who may want to eat in. WIFI is included and a smart T.V. With many shows to watch. You are also able to conveniently self check-in by a electronic door lock. The covered outdoor patio is private and has cozy outdoor furnishings along with a patio table and a BBQ. We offer Kayaks for rent to explore the surrounding waters or paddle across to the Trail Islands and enjoy the sea lions bathing on the shores. In the evening enjoy time around the fire pit and take in the fabulous view across the Georgia straight to enjoy the twinkly lights of Nanaimo. I live in the home upstairs and will be there to meet and greet you upon your arrival and answer any questions you may have. The suite has a private entrance, so interaction will be minimal, except in our homes garden where I spend a lot of time tending to the many plants and flowers. We are centrally located in West Sechelt on Island View Road. Our home sits on the side of a hill which gives us amazing unobstructed views across the straight. The south facing location provides a full day of beautiful sunlight. Our location requires a car to access the downtown area of Sechelt and hiking trails but we are blessed with the entrance to the Golden Mile beach right at the end of our road! Located on a no through road, it is a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We have 2 dogs, a Great Pyrenees and a chihuahua. Both dogs only have access to upstairs in our living space and our fenced in backyard. However, if you love dogs feel free to say hi, they are very lovable.

Love this cozy suite, used the bbq and little propane fire pit with cozy seating. Teresa was a gracious host. She has a beautiful garden with awesome views. Hope to return again.

The property was perfect! Everything we could need to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean and quiet with great views and a beautiful garden to sit and enjoy a morning coffee.

This property is a five minute drive from Sechelt the view is as advertised, the owner’s are very accommodating and friendly. I would stay again. Although the dogs were not disruptive if you have allergies to dogs I would pick another venue.

The location was great with an amazing view of the ocean. The studio itself was very cute and inviting. The floor in the bathroon needed a good scrub. The outside siting areas were very messy and dirty. The views were great if you didnt mind dog hair, the chairs outside the unit were under the upstairs patio and the dogs sat up there and their hair was coming thru the slats in chunks. The sitting area with the Adirondack chairs view was blocked totally by planter boxes if you sat. All in all not a bad place! Would stay again.

Great views and location
This is a nice compact studio with a great porch view of the water. She has a beautiful well kept garden, attracting birds and huge butterflies. And the location is great, close to town but also the other direction Sargeant Bay (great kayak fishing launch) and Halfmoon Bay. Recommended.

The kitchen was amazingly well equipped for its compact size. We really enjoyed eating outside and made good use of the gas fire pit and BBQ. The beach is beautiful for walking along.

Location was quiet, well away from the highway, and good for our vacation plans: walking and hiking. (Others may want to be closer to restaurants and shops.) Cooking was difficult in this cottage, although we did cook for ourselves using the nice barbecue on the patio and an electric frying pan. Wished we'd brought microwave-safe containers to heat/cook food, as there were none. Very little prep and cleanup space, but this was shown clearly in the ad. Best for people eating most meals out. Enjoyed chatting with the friendly, very helpful property owner and touring her garden. Also enjoyed the short walk down to a beach where we saw spouting gray whales in the strait.

We stayed for three nights at this lovely property. It is exactly how it is portrayed ... a cozy studio with amazing ocean views. We enjoyed being able to walk to the beach, 5 min down the road. It was central to many hikes and close enough by car for groceries. Teresa was absolutely lovely - she communicated in a timely manner, was very welcoming and made sure that we had everything we needed. The studio has everything one might need for a getaway, and the access to a washer and dryer was a treat. We would stay again in a heartbeat! Thank you for a lovely weekend!!

Nice little suite.
The host was very nice and available for any concerns or questions. She clearly puts care and pride into her little vacation suite. It was small but clean and nice and perfectly adequate for a few days.

This was an absolute delight to spend time in this lovely suite.
Very clean, very comfortable bed. Well described as a cozy studio. We so enjoyed relaxing outside. Beautiful outdoor area with gorgeous ocean views, also a covered patio with a propane fire table which we used in the cooler evening. Teresa was a great host. Highly recommend this place. Would definitely return here.

Theresa was a welcoming host! The suite has an amazing view of the water and is only a quick walk to the beach. The suite is lovely and has all the comforts needed for a great trip! Would definitely recommend and would definitely return!

Great place to satay for a short getaway.
Place was clean and has a nice view of the bay. The owner , Teresa was very pleasant and made sure we were comfortable.
It would have been nice if she has a small table where you can eat your meals.

This place is the most cozy romantic place i have booked. I have never been to the sunshine coast and Theresa is the most gracious and amazing host and far exceeded our expections, Always checking in to see if we need anything. She added great little extras to make us feel at home. We loved it so much we booked an extra night.
The views from her place are stunning. She also let us use her kayaks and we spend the afternoon kyaking around the islands you can see from her house.
Her dogs gracie and bella were a highlight for me. The outdoor fire pit is amazing to roast some hotdogs or smores or just have a couple drinks around the fire. If it rains there is a propane fire pit under her deck and a lounge area.
I highly reccomend everyone to book here. Will definitely come back here on day.

Romantic Sea-View Get Away
This was by far the best "bnb" we have ever stayed in (and we've enjoyed ~ 18 around the world). Not only did it totally meet the expectations of the description and pictures, it exceeded it.
Some of our highlights: the VIEW!! which was amazing; the beautiful gardens/patio which were all ours to use in complete privacy with fire wood supplied and faerie lights; the crispy clean, sweetly themed room/bathroom - all in ocean colours; the sweet extras - chocolate, snacks, beer/wine, local soap etc; and the comfy bed! There was so much more but that's a start. : )
Teresa herself was more than welcoming and so very responsive - checking in a few times to see if we needed anything at all. However, she was also very respectful of our privacy.
We LOVED this little ocean gem and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful time away on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
