The layout of the house was bizarre. Light switches could be labeled if not changed completely. Need new placement for 3rd small bedroom door, brighten up full bathroom upstairs and make better use of dead space by downstairs bathroom.
Appears the house may be a work in progress....some things like the light fixtures, are new, but many other items need updating including decor. The pool table was way too large for the area.
We had issues with wasps at the beach access and several LARGE spiders in the house...both are likely seasonal issues.
Owners were very diligent in responding to us!
We loved the keypad for entry.
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, laundry soap and dish soap all provided but not many kitchen pantry items.
A treacherous driveway ...can only approach from ONE direction and no way to turn around.
The mailing address may be Lilliwap, but it is closer to Hamma Hamma

We enjoyed our stay in this quiet space. It was so nice to be right on the water!

We had an amazing time at this location. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. Kitchen could use some additional equipment, but was manageable. We prepared most meals at home. Includes a sauna, ping pong and pool table, which were enjoyed.
The highlight of the property is the waterfront. The sloping yard leads directly to the Hood canal. Plenty of outdoor furniture. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking and paddleboarding in the canal. Wonderful place to relax and enjoy a beach vacation!

Pros:
• This location is beautiful and mere steps from the water. We spent our days rockhounding on the beach and our nights gazing up at stars. (Beach is rocky, not sandy.)
• The house had plenty of room for everyone. It has a quirky layout but we were able to fit our family comfortably.
• The kitchen was well stocked and had just about everything we needed.
Cons:
• The yard is not as pictured. The sprinkler system is broken and the lawn is dead. Weeds were ~1 foot tall so we couldn't really use the yard for games. It looked like it hadn't been mowed in a long time.
• The patio table, loungers, and umbrellas in the pictures are not there. The picnic table outside the kitchen is child-sized. BYO chairs.
• There is a ground yellowjacket nest next to the fire pit. Two people got stung the first night. I had to drive all the way to Hoodsport for wasp spray and a trap.
• There was a note on the door about an unpaid water bill when we arrived.
• We lost power twice. It seems this area is used to this as the neighbor has a generator. Both outages lasted a few hours.
• Hot/cold are reversed on the washer. We accidentally washed our swimsuits on hot.
• There's no light in the bunk room. The light in one of the bathrooms is taped in.
• There is no gas grill, only charcoal. Charcoal and firewood isn't provided.
• Some of the outlets are old (two-prong) and far from bed tables. Bring extension cords for phone chargers.
• The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we arrived
• No A/C

This is a great location for vacationing in this area. It is ideally located and very quiet. However, the outside area of the home is not what is represented in the online photos. It is very very overgrown outside. The outdoor seating area does not look like the photo. A lot of the furniture is old and on its last leg, literally. The inside of the house needs updating very badly; in one bathroom, there is just a bare bulb covered with tape. We had a good time, and were able to cook and relax as needed at this house, but we won’t be returning for the above issues since outside time near the water is one of the main reasons we visit the canal.

Great location
This house is located on a great property. Probably the only negative was the driveway was a bit narrow and steep but the minutes you step out the back of the house and see the yard and Hood Canal - makes everything perfect!

Quirky house layout
The house has a really quirky layout with 3 levels. 2 bedrooms, bathroom, powder room, 2 separate living spaces upstairs; kitchen/dining space, master bedroom & bath lower level; and Ping-Pong/pool table & spa lower level (accessed through master bedroom). It's obviously been built out in stages. Plywood stained walls and ceilings are kindof funky.
There are a lot of squeaks and noises in the house while sleeping.
Outside is very nice with sloping lawn and beach access. We saw bald eagles each day and otters twice.
Internet access/wireless is very good.
Plenty of towels and the house was clean - except for the sheets in the lower buk bed which were sandy at the feet.

Nice things: great views and good area with access to some trails and oysters at hamma hamma. The beach is really cool.
Few disappointing things: No check-in instructions, No propane BBQ so we couldn’t grill during fire ban. The fancy white chair by the water was covered in stained bird fecal matter. If it’s raining and you’re stuck inside…the couches are not comfortable.
Give it 3/5 because of good location and average amenities.

Great place. Lovely location. Kitchen lights flickered and the kitchen sink faucet turned on randomly after being turned off. The mr coffee machine didn’t work so couldn’t use it. However we had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend it.

What an a wonderful and quiet spot right on the beach for oysters for families (look up tide times ahead). The owner communicated clearly and on time. Just heads up for future stayers - bring extra towels was not enough especially have little ones (for beach, facials, showers); beds are super comfortable; kitchen does not have kitchen hand towels; bring your own shovels and buckets; look ahead out for fire ban restrictions: bring your own seasoning; sauna was amazing and treat; game room was a plus; grill on property but did not use due to burning ban; bring more trash bags and toilet paper for extra needs.
The house is close to 10-15 mins to Hood Canal town (markets/stores) and Hama Hama market/outdoor restaurant.
Overall, we made our stay great, easy and will all laughter and fun!

The view from this property is priceless! With that said the only concerns were most of the dining and outside furniture was unsafe and unstable and the sauna was not functional. This location is close to Hama Hama which we stopped ny while they had live music and you shuck oysters. Tam was quick and attentive when I voiced my concerns about the house.

This was a great house. Location on the water is beautiful, lovely views from inside the house. Bedrooms were comfortable, if a little oddly arranged. Kitchen well stocked.
The driveway was very steep and a little difficult for one of our rental vehicles. Recommend 4 wheel drive. Location is pretty far from any grocery store, although we brought most of what we needed with us.
The owner was very responsive to our occasional texts with questions.

This property is very comfortable for 6 adults. The large yard between the cottage and waterfront was spacious and allowed for different seating areas as well as space for lawn games. We brought floaties and spent hours in the water everyday keeping us cool and comfortable in the August heat. Comfortable beds and generous supply of towels. Plus washer and dryer on lower level if needed. We very much enjoyed our stay here and recommend it as a destination for families or couples.

This was such a fantastic experience, a clean organized house, clear check in and check out process, very pleasant to work with the owner, and the house on the water was AMAZING. So relaxing, so perfect for the adults to sit in the shade on the edge of the lawn while the kids happily played in the water for hours. It was safe and beautiful. And the neighbor was very kind too! The perfect getaway. I want to book it every year!

Fantastic location right on the beach! The property is a dream for beach combing for oyster shells and sea glass. The outdoor area was a dream for young ones to be safe on the grass while adults could relax under umbrellas and lounge on patio furniture. You are 8 minutes from Hama Hama Oysters, which made for great shucking and fun.

Spectacular Background - overall 4.5 STARS
Best for outdoor living. great for both active or idyllic setting. We Played on seashell beach or on our kayak, canoe and/or paddleboards. OR Just relax on any of the seating choices - picnic tables, gazebo with wicker seating, firepit, swing hammock, lounge chairs by the water. There is plenty of room to play. House also had badminton and soccer equipment, which we all set up and still spacious to play football.
Host is very generous with house supplies like hand soap, toilet paper, trash bags, laundry det. (We've rented for many years and most houses are not very stocked like this! sometimes not even a starter roll of toilet paper!) This made up for some things lacking in the house. Big plus is plenty of plates and cups. Many houses have only a set of 8 or 12 then we have to run dishwasher many times. Host is very accessible & communicates well. When we noticed that the trash bins were full, she immediately corrected the situation (cleaners forgot to empty them). It is understandable because it seems that they are new in renting out this house. But I am confident that if the host adds some more kitchen items, etc, then this will truly be a gem for this price range.

We found this property shortly after WDFW announced the shrimping dates for this season. The location is great for us, being about 10 minutes from Pleasant Harbor Marina where we moor our boat.
Although the house is older, It is clean and cozy, and nicely furnished. The washer and dryer was great to have so we could pack light. The beds are really comfortable, which is a nice surprise. 2.5 bathrooms really worked well for our two family stay. The kitchen is well outfitted with all the pots, pans, and dishes that you could ever need. A Weber kettle bbq sits out back and it came in handy to bbq oysters one evening.
I contacted the owner several times, both before and after arriving, with questions, etc. and I would receive a reply in 10 minutes or less, which is appreciated. All in all, we loved staying here, and we will return in the future! AAA+++

Beautiful house by the water
Stayed for 2 nights. House had everything we needed. Enjoyed cooking in the kitchen all day with an amazing view of the water! Had fun roasting smores in the fire pit. Slept well in comfortable beds. Bathrooms were clean! Neighbor was friendly and recommended to see Port Townsend. Tam was available at all times to answer questions. I will definitely recommend this house to family and friends.

I think we may have been one of the first guests to stay here. Very cute property with tasteful and lovely furnishings. Our family really enjoyed playing in the backyard, waking along the beach and looking at shells and shellfish, birds ect. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with utensils. One thing to note is to bring your own towels. Our group of 6 (the home can sleep up to 8 I believe) only had 3 towels total. Also no additional pillows or blankets if you were to need those but very comfortable otherwise with lots of outdoor space that’s usable even in yucky weather. The hosts were very gracious and even let us check in early so our granddaughter could take a nap mid day. So kind! Also, they were super responsive via messaging in the VRBO app.
