It’s only saving grace was that the towels and bedding were clean
Hard to know where to start. Bottom line is the photos listed on the site ARE NOT that of the apartment you get. The pictures depict a clean, spacious, open planned and colourful living space and what we were served up was nothing short of squalor. I wasn’t made aware of the height restrictions for the car park under the tower block and as such scratched all of my roof box. I then had to navigate through the multiple broken glass bottles to ensure I didn’t puncture any tyres. The stairwell and halls up to the apartment were filthy and we were met with an almighty disgusting smell in the corridor leading to the door of the property. The apartment was listed as bedroom 1 - double bed plus single, bedroom 2 - two singles and lounge sofa bed. There was six of us and no single in the bedroom 1 so we’re a bed short. The place was filthy and clearly had never seen a duster. Lampshades and walls littered with dust, stains and god knows what else. The kitchen had a fridge propped on polystyrene and an odour control inside of it. The shelves in the cupboard were stained, a kettle full of limescale and a stove with hardened food on it. The sofa bed I dread to think had never been cleaned in its lifetime and the quilts provided had no duvet covers or extra pillows. The main bathroom shower flooded the floor and the en suite barely had any spray. All in all incredibly disappointing and we left after one night. The owner did the decent thing and fully refunded and rightly so as this is false advertising and what was provided was horrendous sadly. AVOID

Absolutely nothing.
Check in was at 3 o'clock and let left us outside in the cold until 4 o'clock. The woman in charge was rude. The girl cleaning said she was told that we were going to be late which is a lie and I have emails proving this. They placed us on the 3rd floor and as soon as you get out of the lift you have to hold your breath because the smell was so bad. Even the pans in the cupboards were greasy and dirty. The pictures they advertised show something completely different from what we were actually given and pictures I would never have booked it if I had known and they say it is not refundable..

Good location near the university. Big space. Comfortable beds, extra bedding and towels provided. Easy to check-in/out.
As a suggestion, it would be good to include a coffee machine, basic cooking essentials (salt, oil, kitchen towels)and toiletries. Parking was a bit difficult to enter but it was good to have one with the permit.

The apartment is spotless and tidy.
There was a pipe issue but owner was very responsive and promptly turned up on New Year’s Eve to look into it. Really appreciate the effort.

Location is near to essex university, near to Tessco, to the bus stand.
There is a lift for the upper floors.
The wooden floor is too noisy.
The main bathroom wash basin has no mixer as that hot water and cold water is separate.
Main door is very hard to open.

the living room looked lovely, was spacious and very comfortable, the kitchen nice and modern with all facilities you need for a stay. the bedrooms were ok.
we were not informed that there was 3-4 flights of stairs, it was awful, I am disabled and my daughter has a back problem, to say it was a struggle was an understatement. we were also concerned about lack of fire exits. The direct area wasn’t at all inviting, it was mostly students and there was a lot of noise in the evening, shouting, parties etc, if this was mainly from students then it is probably quieter at certain times of the year. The apartment had two bathrooms with two showers, the first bathroom /shower was a waste of time, the shower doesn’t even reach the shower cradle, it was basically hand held, the second shower cradle was upside down so we had to position the shower head in a corner to actually get a shower, shame because the shower itself was really powerful. There were numerous things falling apart in the bedrooms, seems like it is need of a good overall.

The apartment was not the one I booked; I reserved the one in Albany Gardens was assigned another one in one of the worse area of Colchester; I spent lots of money in taxi to reach places that were next to the other apartment: I received no notification about the change; there was a constant noice of something beating on the wall all night long;
the bed linen to use for the sofa were wet; the bathroom was too small and there were no curtain or glass in the shower: water was also coming from down the sink; only one small mirror in the bathroom with no room for make up; no bed side table in one of the rooms; the glass windows were all dirty; the table downstairs was unstable ready to break; no hooks for towels or coats throughout the whole house/ bathroom;

Colchester is a busy traffic town, and the best way round is either bus or walk. We could park the car at the apartment and it was two minutes walk to the bus stop, and 8 minutes into town from there.
The apartment itself is a veritable penthouse, very good indeed. We only stayed 2 nights. It would be comfortable to stay for a lot longer!

Bright, spacious modern and clean! We had a lovely stay.
We ran out of hot water one evening. I could not find instructions for the boiler. I eventually found the boost button but it takes a while to hot up.

Close to town centre by car. On-road parking was free and sufficient. Once inside, it's lovely: immaculately clean, light, spacious, fresh, modern decor and well-equipped. Fantastic shower and plenty of hot water. Great having a dish-washer and washing machine (though we didn't use the latter.) Ample washing up liquid and cleaning materials, likewise complimentary beverages and toiletries. Breakfast is cornflakes and Special K. No noise or problems from neighbours. We were given flexible check-in and check-out and were not charged for a minor breakage - all of which was generous. The host was very responsive to our texts.
The nearest restaurants were Pizza Hut and Bambu Vietnamese; the latter pleasant, with good food and service, (shame about the drab view, though.) There's a handy small Co-op, open late. All are walkable, which meant we could drink without having to drive back or get a taxi. There's also a well-stocked Tesco Express a short drive away.
We loved the tourist attractions of nearby Flatford and Dedham - little gems! The beach along Cudmore Country Park
was OK too.
An industrial type of area around the housing estate. (Terrible traffic congestion through the town from A12, possibly due to the Bank Holiday Saturday, which put us off exploring the town centre). There was loud music Saturday and Sunday - day and evening - from some nearby venue (though this may not be regular and with the windows closed you couldn't hear it).
There was an unpleasant smell immediately outside the door of the apartment block, (source not apparent), though entering the flat, itself, was fine.
The single beds were narrow, the oven modern and complicated (a manual would be handy!) and some of the saucepans are redundant because they're aluminium and cannot be used with the induction hob - these could do with removing, as we wasted some time trying to cook with them before we realised!

Lovely large and very clean apartment. Pictures don't do it justice - there's a full kitchen and large diner/living room. Complementary tea and coffee. Would've been nice to have milk and bread but Tesco nearby so not a major issue
Great value. Would stay again if there was a group of us going to Colchester
Small parts really -
Parking is a free for all. Was tricky to find space to park (legally) at times
No hairdryer in the property but when mentioned to owner, they will be buying one

The host provided a couple of small boxes of cereals for breakfast with coffee although no instructions to use machine. The flat was very clean. One of the showers had a boost button with good pressure and heat. The beds were comfy and slept well when closed the window- shutting noise out. The host has provided a desk fan in bedroom. There is a CO-OP store 5 mins walk away which was handy as we arrived later then planned, due to traffic. For what we paid it was OK.
The contact beforehand was mismatched. Directions to venue poor and on an estate with a lot of flats. But when I phoned host he was helpful. No instructions on the keys- there were 3 of them colour coded but no explanation. There were only 3 knives forks and spoons. No checkout instructions, but host did text on the morning asking to be advised when we left so could arrange cleaners. The flat was in the middle of student land, we had not realised there are 1600 university students in the area. It was quite noisy, although we felt safe as a top floor flat. 3 flights of stairs to access. There is no designated parking, it is street parking and we had to park a little way down adjoining road half up on pavement.

Very spacious, very cosy, very clean and nice little touches in the apartment. The host was very good with communication and made it easy to locate the property as well as accessing the keys for the property. Plenty of shops local including and big Tesco and take aways.

Me and two friends stayed here last week for a few days, the apartment is very clean and spacious. It is exactly how it is in the pictures and good value for money. They have cleaners go in between different people staying there so it’s reassuring everything is cleaned and sanitised properly. The owners were very nice and helpful before and during our stay, always available to contact if needed. The apartment is quite near supermarkets and the town Center, which is good if wanted to go out.
Would recommend staying at this apartment.

The property was clean, tidy and had everything you could ask for. The beds were comfy and the shower was amazing. Was in a lovely quiet area, with shops and the station nearby. Would definitely recommend!

I don't usually leave reviews but had to say how lovely this place is. The apartment was clean, bright, and had everything you would need. The extras were great, coffee pods and coffee machine, breakfast bits and washing up etc really made the difference. Showers were the best we have ever had, comfy beds and a beautiful lake and woodland walk just behind the property. This was very good value for money. Thanks again!! 🙂
The only thing was the TV had an echoing sound quality which was the only thing that was a negative. Everything else was excellent.
