Located in the heart of the Northern Black Hills recreational corridor and in a subdivision adjacent to the Mickelson trail and Trail #5, you'll be hard pressed to find a better location perfect for your mountain biking, UTV/ATV or snowmobile adventures! Located on all paved roads, it's easy to access all the surrounding attractions. You can be skiing the slopes of Terry Peak in less than 10 minutes, hiking or fishing in Spearfish Canyon in less than 5 minutes, or enjoying a short 15 minute taxi ride into Deadwood to enjoy a local event or all the festivities that frequent the area! Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake and more are also within a 1 hour drive from the cabin. The living area also leads out to the covered deck, perfectly made to enjoy wildlife viewing or grilling a great meal! The loft has a seating area and there are 2 bedrooms on the upper level. On the lower level, you'll find a perfect living room with sofa, along with a flat-screen TV and wet-bar. It's great for lounging with friends while making up a perfect drink for a cozy night in. There's also a washer/dryer on the lower level along with 2 more bedrooms. The lower level living area also leads out to the covered patio, complete with a hot tub and private backyard. Our family met up for Thanksgiving and found that the Falling Star Lodge checked all the boxes for us. It was a beautiful home and we loved our stay. The property manager was very accessible and helpful with questions we asked of him.

Our Rental experience went smooth. Property was in as described with all amenities and than some. Was the perfect size for our Adult family. Newer build so landscape was not complete, tall weeds around home. That was the only complaint we had.

Falling Star Lodge was beautiful! Wonderful vacation with our 3 sons and their families. Loved the location, all paved roads and close to a major highway. Loved the decorating in the lodge. Definitely would like to rent again in the Powder House Pass area. My granddaughters loved the pool.

This experience was average. The water should have provided hot water immediately with the kind of water heater it was, we never could figure out the hot water-some had good pressure, some would have hot shower and some would have a cold shower, there was no reason to when any of these experiences would happen. We were UTC riding, a shower after riding was important to our crew. The washer would typically have to be restarted due to error. The location is perfect. The parking is limited if multiple families are enjoying this vacation home. The thermostat is on the main level--basement and upstairs were hard to maintain a comfortable temperature. Was clean. Nice to know--there is a trailer parking area in the complex (this is a nice feature if traveling to area to ride UTVs prior to check in)

We enjoyed our stay very much. We had an issue with the water heater and called the property manager. A plumber came and fixed the problem. Our grandchildren loved the pool and the splash pad at the community center. The house was only a short walk away from the center. Powder House Pass is well located, only short drive to Lead for any additional supplies you might need.

Home was beautiful and location was perfect for our motorcycle trip however we ran into a number of issues that were very disappointing considering the price we paid. First there was still a load of sheets and towels in dryer running upon our arrival. Towels were put up wet (not damp) as it appeared they were not prepared for our arrival. More importantly, the downstairs bedroom had dirty sheets, hair clumps and dirt (gross) and pictures were provided to owner but no response. Hot tub was not properly cleaned as it foamed terribly on day 1. Pacman machine only let you move right so couldn't enjoy. Electric dart board gave error message and didn't work. I did reach out prior to leaving this review and was given a refund on the cleaning fee...honestly would have expected more considering but lesson learned.

The house is wonderful and in a fantastic location for exploring Deadwood and the northern black hills. The community pool was very nice. The finishes on the house were not great. The TV constantly had issues responding to the remote. The washer also had to be kicked off multiple times to complete a load of clothes due to low water flow. The place could definitely be five stars with a little more caring touch to it.

House was new, nice and up to date. Plenty of space and located in a quiet spot. Had a few issues with water pressure and tempature control which could easily be improved.

This house was the perfect place in Powder House Pass for our family of five adults to hang out between skiing and snowmobiling. We rented snowmobiles from Mad Mountain which worked great. The trails were in excellent condition. The house appointments and everything else was awesome. We had thought two more adults and three children from our family might be joining us, and if they would have, this house is perfectly set up for that.

This property was amazing. The community building was super cool. The only thing that kept this from being super relaxing was all of the construction going on. Understandable though since this is a new development area. But they don’t need to start at 7:30 Saturday morning. Bring your own coffee pot as the one provided takes 3 hours to brew a pot.

We had a group of 20 staying in two houses in this picturesque new neighborhood. Falling Star Lodge was decorated in ski lodge style and included all the amenities. We used it as a home base for visiting Mt. Rushmore and other Black Hills attractions. You won’t be disappointed!

Everything was so smooth. Budi got back to me right away with any questions. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. We loved the deck in the morning with our coffee. And loved the clubhouse. Great and convenient area to everything. Would definitely go back!

We had 10 people stay at this house over the rally. What a great place to stay. Great location, great house, awesome property and property management. I would stay here again in a heart beat.

The house was great overall! It was a perfect location for our family getaway. We had three families staying here so it gave us all space to spread out. Enough bedrooms for us all with plenty of bathrooms. The kitchen had the basic necessities for cooking daily meals. The game area was great for the kids to go relax and hang out downstairs. The fire pit was definitely used for the cool mornings and chilly nights. When we ran out of propane the first night or so it was quickly replaced. Kids enjoyed the hot tub. The yard around the property is a little underwhelming as it’s obvious newer construction and the yard has been an after thought. It was not conducive for kids to roam around in. There were some little things here and there but nothing major to complain about. On a couple rainy days we found ourselves fixing up some things that needed attention (several handymen among our group)...like replacing light bulbs, fixing a broken dresser drawer in one of the bedrooms, fixing light fixtures and tightening table legs and cleaning cob webs. Nothing too different than what we’d do at our own homes. It was a great relaxing trip and we hope to make it back next year. We’d have no problem staying here again!

Budi was great to work with from the very beginning! We had to switch to a different cabin due to number of travelers and she was very helpful in finding the perfect one! This was my first time renting a VRBO and she helped me through the entire process and was very sweet about it. The property was great! We had 3 families and the room arrangements on 3 different levels worked perfectly. The decks were great no matter what the weather because one is covered and one is open. We utilized the hottub and it was a hit with everyone. The space was perfect. It felt very updated, yet that rustic cabin "feel." There was plenty of seating for our group of 11. It provides a cozy feel but with a lot of open space so you don't feel cluttered. I'd highly recommend this cabin to all my friends and family.

Wonderful. The cabin was equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed the hot tub (as the weather was cooler than expected) as well as the pool when the weather warmed up. This is our 3rd stay at this cabin and we look forward to making it a 4th!

This is a beautiful property close to everything we wanted to do. It was very clean with plenty of space for everyone. Beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels and dishes. My one complaint was the water pressure in the showers were weak. Overall this was a great place to stay! Would highly recommend!

We had an early Christmas celebration which included 6 adults and 3 children. The home was perfectly suited for our family! We all had our own bedroom and bathroom and nice gathering space when we all came together. It was decorated for the season and felt like home away from home. Property manager was responsive and helpful. We would highly recommend!
