A bit expensive hotel for what it offers although it's clean, close to the beach and has nice staff

The hotel has a pool and a spacious parking area, with solid pool bar. It's right at the beach and offers free sunbeds for the guests. The internet was working OK and the room is spacious, has a safe, a TV, frigde and a balcony. The hotel offers tennis as it has a tennis court and a nice backyard with lots of chairs and shade. The breakfast was solid, although not on a level of the price paid for the hotel itself. It's close to Melissani cave which is convenient as you can be there in the morning before the crowd gets there from the cruisers or other towns. The staff was really polite and helpful with everything.

The biggest issue with the hotel is the lack of a good beach nearby. Although the hotel has access to the beach and free sunbeds for guests, the beach itself is not that good. The area with sunbeds has rocks and the entrance to the water is not the best. Not good value for money in terms of the price of the hotel that you pay and what you get. The hotel has the upper range pricing while not offering anything to justify the price when you can find pretty much the same things at another hotel for the half of the price. The Sami town itself is not on the "better" part of Kefalonia where the more popular beaches are. The balcony is rather small and doesn't have any hangers for drying the clothing.

Superb

Just such a lovely atmosphere, really friendly staff and a lot of guest who clearly return every year and love the place. The bar by the pool was great. Staff were helpful and arranged taxis and helped us whenever we needed something. The views of the beach, across the bay to Ithica were lovely. Highly recommend.

Fantastic, relaxing holiday at the Sami Beach Hotel.

The owners and staff at the Sami Beach Hotel could not have done more to make us feel welcome and for our stay to be as enjoyable as possible. This was our first visit,but many couples had been coming for many years, which speaks for itself. The hotel itself does not have a restaurant open in the evenings, but there are plenty of local tavernas within walking distance. There was a good selection of home produced food for breakfast. The outside bar is the main focal point of the hotel, which has a stunning outlook.

There was nothing that we did not like about this hotel. The only drawback would be that the beach is very pebbly, which does make swimming difficult, but the pool is so nice that this really is not a problem.

A great place to return to.

Almost everything! Marvelous position overlooking beautiful Sami Bay, right by the hotel beach. Wonderful staff, well-trained but also great people-people. Excellent double bed, comfy room, good shower. Greek yogurt and honey at breakfast as good as any we've had in many trips to Greece. And cakes, wow! Spotless, very friendly, very easy hotel to be in, so an excellent, relaxing stay for us. Of the three main hotels in the Sami area, this is the best in our experience. Will come again!

Very minor things - some sunbeds were a bit dodgy. Difficult to get at the many books in the little library area.

Nice launchpad to Antisamos beach, but wouldn't stay again

1km walk to the restaurants overlooking the beach. The beach is rocky so it's a bit uncomfortable to walk on without water shoes. The room wasn't clean, which I couldn't get past (grime, mould, and shampoo residue in the shower). I was too scared to touch surfaces. Rooms get quite a lot of noise from other rooms opening and closing doors. I booked 1 night with the intention of booking 6 more if things were good, but I immediately checked out the next morning and went to the next island. If I had have stayed longer, I would have bought my own cleaning instruments and spent 20 minutes scrubbing the shower, as it really was that bad. The wifi was unreliable (but I think that's common on Kefalonia generally, except for perhaps agostoli). The location is nice, 10 minute taxi to one of the most stunning beaches I've ever seen (antisamos beach), with blue water, tiny fish, and smooth white pebbles. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was average. The pool was lovely, huge and with stunning views of surrounding mountains and beach/sea.

We loved out stay at the hotel and have already booked to return next year.

We loved the breakfast and pool and loved the friendliness of the staff and other guests. The outside bar was like a meeting point and we can't fault anything.

Stunning views

fabulous views to sea (Ithica) and to the mountains from the rear. Very friendly and helpful staff. It seemed as if most guests returned year after year. I can definitely see why!

beware that the beach is stony. Water shoes are big help if you want to swim.

Very comfortable and relaxing stay

I travelled with my two children (11 and 13 years). We enjoyed our stay at Sami Beach Hotel and particularly the staff was brilliant. It is a family run hotel, which is reflected in the service provided by the staff, which is very welcoming, helpful and personal. We felt truly relaxed when we left. The breakfast was really nice with great variety. We stayed in a double room with Mountain View, with an extra bed, and we felt the room was a good size (even with the extra bed in there) and the mattresses comfortable. It is lovely to have the option of both pool and sea at the hotel. The hotel also offers a brilliant taxi/car service (which is much better than the local taxi option), airport transfer (which I recommend you use), hire cars (subject to availability). The location is brilliant. There is a lovely taverna by the sea a few minutes walk from the hotel and Sami is a lovely 15 min coastal walk, which has everything you need (restaurants (by the sea), supermarkets, bus service, souvenir shops, laundrette, post office etc).

The only thing we were struggling with at the hotel was the WiFi, which was very weak/slow.

The staff is the best I've ever dealt with in a hotel in my entire life! Exceptional people, always with a sincere smile in their faces and always willing to help in everything you need. People at the reception, at the bar, and even the hotel's owner, are always ready to make you feel great in your stay at Sami Beach Hotel! I travelled a lot in the last 20 years and I had never dealt with such nice people in a hotel!

The mattress was too soft for my back. This is the only thing I didn't like about the hotel.

Great breakfast and wonderful pool. The staff was very friendly and the room comfortable and clean.

The entrance to the hotel is not clearly marked when you drive from Sami so a bit of caution is advised.

was checked in to a diff room was told of the issue compensated by having 60 Euros taken off the first night. having a sea view experience was part of the stay felt cheated. would be nice if shampoo or shower gel is offered

The staff at Sami Beach Hotel made this an exceptional vacation for our family. Everything was easy!

Location to main attractions as well as the breathtaking view and grounds. The beach bar was always going on with a friendly host or conversation to be had. Sami beach hotel was as stunning in person as it appears online and even better. Our host Spyros was incredibly welcoming and accommodating for our family of 5, they made sure to put our 2nd room close the the amazing Ionian Suite that I highly recommend. Breakfast was outstanding each day and was included in our rate. The beach bar staff was always smiling, The last night guitars came out and the guests did a sing song for fun and we all just had the best time. The location of this hotel is also ideal for families wanting to see the caves and to visit the best beaches such as Antissamos and Myrtos, This hotel is a gem!
