Good location and parking off street
Having the room above the entertainment meant it wasn’t calm and relaxing. Not even the ear plugs could stop the room reverberating Friday evening.

Great pub that has been really thoughtfully renovated. The staff are excellent we had an amazing meal for dinner and the location is second to none. The fact that they had earplugs in the room for the cacophony of birdlife in the morning was awesome too
I mean, if you could turn the bird life noise down, that would be great hahahahah (just kidding). Can't think of anything really.....

Beautifully renovated old building, well presented rooms and bathrooms. Massive TV for the size of the room. Special mention to the great pub food. This place really did exceed expectations for the price.
No ability to control air conditioning in the room. TV's need to be volume limited as the room next door was quite loud. The pub is noisy but is closed by 9 or 10, earplugs provided.

Exactly what we needed on our road. Well situated between Gold Coast and Byron Bay. The staff was super flexible and arranging, so that was very nice.

Recently renovated. Great price. Close to everything.
The check in process was a bit awkward. Water pressure was poor.

Location and good value
Needed a few finishing touches. No bedside lamp. Extra utensils for self contained kitchen. Knife, chopping board

Fab renovation- really nice comfortable hotel
Room was great, absolutely huge bathroom so a bit of an odd layout but was definitely unusual!
Bed was comfortable and the room had air con and a fan.
Nice to have a tv in the room too.
Food in the hotel was absolutely 10/10 - really impressed at the quality

Cosy and friendly, good place for chilling out. The surroundings are beautiful, only 25 minutes to the Natural Bridge glow worms cave / waterfall and also 25 minutes to Coolangatta airport. Very central location.
Nothing, really ..... I don't think my room has own air conditioning system, just ceiling fan. Is it central A/C? It doesn't worry me, I was too tired and only stay overnight, it was cold enough and comfortable (summer). My bathroom is sooo big, though ... bigger than the bedroom area :)

Wine glasses provided in the small kitchenette would be good.

Wonderful location, right in town, yet lovely and quiet.

Staff were great. Supportive and happy to help. The room was clean and comfortable. Wow, to size of the shower:-) you can almost dance in there how big it is. Perfect location. Bellow is pub with really good food so you can easily get dinner and then go to rest.

The hotel does not serve breakfast, however there are plenty of little eating places nearby.
No lift to the 1st floor.

Nice room, good bathroom, friendly staff. No noize from the bar downstairs.
The place was cooled well with a central a/c, but the outside units were next to the window, so you need earplugs.

The rooms were modern and very clean and tidy with a big beautiful shower room.
We stayed in room 3 and it had plenty of windows and nice and quiet
My mother stayed in Room 14, it has no windows so feels a little claustrophobic.

Everything was at a very high level of comfort and cleanliness and the bed was great. I was very impressed with the thought that went into the renovations, I will definitely recommend it to others. I had dinner with friends in the restaurant and the meal was excellent.
The stairs, but of course unavoidable
due to the age of the building.

Clean, the staff were most obliging and the location excellent
Parking is always a problem being so confined in the CBD

Clean bedroom with very large bathroom
Separate air conditioning would be better as it got warmer once the bar was closed

Convenient for our cycling trip. Accomodation was comfortable and above the pub below which had food service as well. The staff were friendly and tried best to overcome the booking record errors which caused delays and compromises.
Record of our booking was not registered with the hotel. Staff were confused and allotted rooms which were not those we booked. Two of the rooms were occupied when members of our group swiped the access card to enter the room. Two of our group had to compromise and accept single rooms as the 4 double rooms were not available.

Good location, central to the township. Bistro downstairs offered a good selection of meals and a free beverage for the hotel stay. Nicely renovated bathroom, decent-sized kitchenette which was well stocked but mostly in darkness as the ceiling light is too far away and standing at the kitchenette blocks the light.
Staff were friendly.
The room was too warm with no A/C despite being early August with the window wide open as soon as I arrived. There was a ceiling fan over the bed but the worst thing was the emergency light over the bed which had a bright green LED that lit up the whole room at night. Unfortunately for me I find it hard to sleep in anything than almost complete darkness, wearing an eye mask is bothersome, so I had a very poor sleep after a 9hr drive. If the ceilings weren't so high I could have put a bandaid or blutak over the LED. Photo taken at 9:40am next morning.
I know these things are mandatory to comply with building codes but clearly the interior designer/architect/manufacturer has no idea that most people want darkness to sleep well.
Because I had the window open when the garbage truck arrived in the morning it broke what little sleep I managed to get.
Car park doesn't have separate spaces for guests staying so parking was tight with people who were drinking or dining.
Somebody threw half a burger on the ground behind my car, so when I loaded up of course I trod on it.

Location! Rooms were lovely and new and comfy. The refurb of the whole place is fabulous. The live music was great, quite loud in our room but It was all over by 11ish I think anyway.

The location and the food was excellent
We booked 2 rooms and neither had windows only 1 room had a fan and the nothing. Had a tiny skylight but no aircon. Was very hot and stuffy.

recently renovated quaint property above a great restaurant and bar with great live music
the velux window let in lots of air. not sure how that would work in summer. didn’t appear to be in room air con

Great location. Newly renovated rooms and very clean.

Generally was spotlessly clean all through hotel. Bedrooms spotlessly clean also. Bed was a little hard and creaky, but ok for just 2 nights.
Entertainment was very loud on Friday/Saturday night, but was turned off at 11pm sharp. To be fair the reception guy did warn us, but it would have been better to be aware of this before we booked maybe?
8.0
No bedside lamps. The single overhead light is not warm or friendly.
We actually went out and bought a bedside lamp for ourselves. Easily fixed, I think.

The location was very central, room was renovated, comfy bed and good shower. Meals at the Bistro were nice and well priced. Staff were nice.
There was limited carparking, we had to park in the main street.
The music in the pub was very loud between 4-7pm - you couldn't have a conversation. We sat at the outside tables which were nice but outdoor heaters would have been welcome. From 7pm-11pm the DJ started playing and the noise was deafening in the pub and in our Room (16), you couldn't even hear the tv. Ear plugs were supplied but were useless. There were patrons in the alleyway outside our window shouting and talking until about 11.30pm. We had asked for a quiet room when we booked weeks earlier and were warned when we checked in that the room would be noisy but they were full and there was no alternative. Other guests were complaining about the noise too. It may be ok to stay midweek when there is no band or DJ playing.
Our friend had trouble walking up and down the stairs and we didn't see a lift.
The addition of a hairdryer and bedside reading lamps would be good.
