This popular and comfortable home located in the heart of beautiful Edisto Beach is your key to feeling the sand under your toes and hearing the delightful sounds of the surf. Families will love the open living area featuring a vaulted ceiling and great deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. If spending quality family time is on the agenda, this home is perfectly outfitted with a full kitchen for meals and plenty of room for family activities. Shopping and restaurants are located only a block away. There will be no need to get back into your car to get any necessities during your vacation. Take a break and relax, and before long you will learn that good times are 'A Shore Thing.' Things to Know: No Smoking. Per the Edisto Beach Police Dept, due to this home's location on Palmetto Blvd, golf cart(s) cannot be driven to or from this property. If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 6 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit. More information can be downloaded from the "Rental Agreement" on the checkout page. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation. We had an awesome time! Ocean front location was perfect to all restaurants and The Grocery store. Weather was beautiful and cold. Our dogs enjoyed the spacious back porch and walks on the beach! The staff was great! We’ll be going back in the future!

Great location! Good layout, however, the house needs a lot of work. The ceiling fans need to be replaced. Water damage on ceiling visible in all rooms. Back porch furniture not safe to sit on. I hope they fix it up. It’s a good location!

Property was adequate, does have some age and needs new refrigerator. Nice to have linens provided. Power went out on Friday and was out for several hours, but Dominion Energy did great restoring service. Nice to walk out front to beach. Within walking distance for food, groceries and sweet treats. Children loved riding waves on the water and fishing was good for Sheepshead fish.

The house was great. Plenty of room to lounge around and relax or walk outside and hit the beach. Vacasa property management was very easy to work with and answered all my questions promptly. Will definitely book with them again. The house itself was in the perfect location. Ocean front but also plenty of privacy. It’s close to a grocery store, seafood market, as well as places to eat and shops to look around in. My family and I had a wonderful stay.

Comfortable and great for multiple adults! Kitchen pots and silverware are well stocked. Beach access is a bit difficult after storms erosion. Linens were clean and plentiful.

Location was great for what we needed for a family reunion however the house was very outdated. The kitchen had rusted appliances and the bathrooms were very out dated. The closet and kitchen drawers were very cluttered and not clean. The washer and dryer were also rusty on the inside. Could also use a fresh coat of paint. The patio on the outside had a gate that wouldn’t stay locked which is very unsafe for littles. This could be a great place to stay if upgrades were made.

A Shore Thing is a sure thing if you are looking for a perfect beach cottage! The sunrise is spectacular from your covered deck table. Watch as the wildlife awakens! We brought our dogs (with permission)! The four bedroom, two bathroom with extra outdoor beach shower was perfect for our large family gathering! Large open kitchen, fully equipped to handle our needs. It was clean and perfect! I’ll admit we brought some sand to the upper decks but everything cleaned up nicely like an ideal beach house would do. I would buy this place if I had the money, but since I don’t we rent, and I recommend you should too!!

You can't beat this location. But it is extremely overpriced, even given the location. We stayed in this house only because it was the last house left available on the beach for our selected week with family from out of state, and wanted to be beach front since we have children under two. I knew the house was "no-frills", but again, that's all that was left available.
There are a few major concerns, including but not limited to the rusty, sharp nails poking out ALL OVER the beach front porch spindles, the dryer vent under the house being completely clogged (fire hazard), but in addition, the plumbing fixtures are in desperate need of replacement. The kitchen cabinets are very cluttered, yet somehow the kitchen is still ill-equipped. All needs to be emptied and replaced with basic, full sets of things. Luckily my parents have a home on the island and were able to bring larger pots for us. The permanent "dog gate" on the beach front porch was a plus with the small children, but we quickly found the lock is rusted and does not hold (again, not safe). The bedding is extremely dated, especially for something not washed, it should be replaced from time to time.
All in all, it's a fine house. But you simply shouldn't charge that much for a house that needs SO many repairs and maintenance.

Old refrigerator, old stove, second or third hand washer dryer - dryer doesn’t dry btw. Lots of age showing in this house. Needs corroded door locks replaced and corroded faucets replaced. For the money they are charging, they could/should upgrade these things. Killed several roaches too. But hey, at least the AC worked.

My only negative was that in this day of COVID, the cabinets (knobs, fronts) could use a hard cleaning. We had a great week. Thanks.

Wonderful Oasis on the beach
I had never stayed directly on the beach before and this home blew my mind. It was comfortable, airy, and a wonderful place to overlook the ocean and sands when you wanted to get out of the sun.

Oceanfront porch is our favorite. So close to the ocean. The new sand was a challenge climbing to and from the beach tho! Great family vacation!!

A Great Location for a Great Vacation
You cannot find a better beach house in a more pleasant location. We thoroughly enjoyed our too short family vacation and will most certainly be back, as our exploration of Edisto Island was curtailed by the desire to 'hang' at the beach and this wonderful home!

We love Edisto and this our second time staying in A Shore Thing. The location is perfect and the views are perfect for relaxing. Beach front access and a deck that has a covered section and open section so works for everyone. Love the fact that we can bring our little pup with us. Wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. House is perfect for couples or families . Can walk to shops and restaurants. Atwood is great to work with. Don't miss out on this property.
