We had a lovely stay at the cabañas, Elena and Fray were really good hosts. The cabins were comfortable and nature was surrounding us. We loved it. The animals all around were also very used to humans and it was easy to befriend them.

The property is located right on the river and is filled with lots of animals. The cabanas are adorable.

Little piece of paradise in the middle of the Amazons.
The place is absolutely amazing, full of animals all the time, but the best thing are the people who run it. Elena and Fray are just amazing, always available, smiling, extremely nice and funny. Thanks, it was a real pleasure to meet you.
It's a must, if you miss it you will regret it ;)

Man muss wissen, was man möchte.

I really enjoyed my stay, what I loved most is playing with the monkeys , worth the visit just for that alone.

This little gem of a hostel is 2 km from the pueblo of Puerto Narino. From the beginning, everything detail was given attention to concerning my arrival. Johnathan, a local guide, met me at the dock arriving from Leticia to Puerto Narino. He explained there is a kitchen on site and took me to one of the supermarkets to get supplies. He carried everything for me and then took me by small boat to the property. From the start, Elena and Frailey were wonderful. There are monkeys and macaws there that are friendly and come to you. There was a tiny kitten and dogs on the property. The room of hammocks were very relaxing with a great view of the Amazon river. It was beautiful in every way and very in touch with nature, no loud music or parties to worry about. The cabana had it's own bathroom and the water everyday was heavenly after the steamy jungle tours. There is also a brick path that leads into town and it's only a 20 minute leisurely walk. I did this every night for dinner in the pueblo.
I only booked for 2 nights and was going to spend the 3rd night in a different hostel I had booked prior to coming. I enjoyed this so much that I stayed on here one more night. Elena insisted that if I needed to use the WiFi at night (which is Star link and very very good in the common room) that I could come back even if staying at a different location.
I cannot stress enough that this place was like a home, with caring people always willing to help out. I miss not being there now and if I return to the Amazon again, which I hope to do, I will definitely stay with them again. You will NOT be disappointed.
Absolutely nothing.

Such a beautiful retreat outside of Puerto Niño. You are truly surrounded by nature. The monkeys and birds are plentiful. Comfy room with bugnet and typical bathroom. Super friendly and helpful staff. Just a 20 min walk if you don’t take a boat!

This hostel is the best in Puerto Nariño! It’s surrounded by nature, really calm, relaxed and good vibes. The cabaña where we slept was nice and the bed was comfy. What i really liked is that they have a clean kitchen where you can cook and a space with relaxing chairs where you can chill. The owners are really lovely people and will help you when you need something. We stayed longer then expected and also the price is good for a place like this. Would definitely come back some day!

My favorite place to stay in Puerto Narino. Alto de Aguila is a magical place and like no other place in the world.

The owner is very easy going, there's free coffee and she also gave me a lot of fresh bananas! It's a peaceful place and you can have a lot of fun with the monkeys, definitely worth it!
There's is a guide that offers tours he is called "Felix"
I booked a tour with him and I noticed he is one of those guides that wants to take advantage of tourists so he made me pay to much for the tour it was not worth the money for what we did, be careful if you want to take a tour with him, I don't recommend.

The other travelers were great.. it was easy to get a group together to share the price for a guided tour with Felix, the the hostel. He was great, really took the time to give us a good experience
The owners sister asked me for change a number of times to give to other clients. It was small amounts but it started almost from the moment I arrived. I was paid back but it was in mostly coins when I'd given bills. I was also asked if I had bread or rice. She seemed unprepared for the things she'd need and I found that annoying. The bathroom was in the cabin which I loved, but it wasn't cleaned in the 3 days I was there. It's tricky cause I locked the cabin when I'd leave, but there's a lot of mud in the jungle and there should be a process for cleaning if you stay more than 1 night.

Fraile and Helena were so welcoming, very helpful. It was like being part of a family. The animals and the view are Amazing, and it's a remote place surrounded by the jungle. The room was clean and quiet. One of my best stay in Amazonia.

I visited the monkeys on this property once and couldn’t wait to come back. The owners are so lovely! Really magical. You have to take a 10 minute boat into town or walk 20 minutes but if you want an exotic Amazon experience this is it.
We had to wait for our second cabin so one of our guests had to sleep in the room next to loud kitchen. They go by how many folks are coming so if you want two cabins I suggest you tell them 4 or more guests.

This place is stunning. Hotel is located at the river with lots of animals: monkeys, parrots, dogs, cats. Owners of this place are really nice and helpful. We booked few tours with the help of the hotel and we received amazing guide: Jonathan (make sure you ask for him specifically!)
This place is not clean

Very welcoming hosts, free coffee and great views;
Free kayak to go on the river;
Very comfy room, even though there are insects, the bed net helps keep them away;
Great location in the forest, you can really feel you're in the jungle.
Nothing, the place was great!!

The best hostel we have stayed in in Colombia so far! The owners were amazing so friendly and were willing to help us in any way they could (despite us being terrible at Spanish!). There are SO many animals around the hostel including so many monkeys, the hostel even provides bananas to feed to the monkeys.
Nothing about the hostel itself, it was great. However, for anyone staying here I would recommend avoiding one of the tour guides who operates in that area called Felix - he was over an hour late, was extremely drunk during our tour and made constant sexual remarks to our friend. But as mentioned this is not to do with the hostel - you must stay here!

The hotel is wonderful, middle in the jungle with amazing plants and trees und full with animals. Just a paradise.
The owners very nice and welcoming.
Possibility of making many different tours with good prices.
Not all guides working in the hostel are professional. Unfortunately I had a bad luck to get a bad guide (Félix) which was untrustworthy and disrespectful. He agreed one thing and did another one, it was impossible to count on what he said. He did not reply to questions made during the tours, was not considering them at all. He ignored questions related to the organisation of tours and wanted to talk only with men in the group. Additionally was pretty rude, never said or replied to hello and so on.
It was a very bad experience with this guide, especially that I saw how kind and professional other guides are.

AWESOME!!! The owner & staff were so kind and generous. There were animals everywhere. There were 3 species of monkeys & we were given bananas to feed them. They monkeys would take the food directly from you or sit on your shoulders while eating. We took their canoe out in search of pink dolphins which we found directly in front of the cabins as well as grey ones. There was also a family of baby ducks & Macaws. They organized an amazing tour upriver to the lake for a jungle hike & swim for very cheap. Other tours stop here to bring tourists to see the animals. When we arrived a man was waiting to take us in the boat. There is no breakfast however & the cabins are very rustic but the animals and kindness along with the thrill of being in the jungle make up for it. One tip is that it is an easy enough 15 minute walk back and forth to town during the day but do not try to find it on your own at night as you have to walk through a soccer field. Make sure to take a flashlight if you do try and stay to the out edge of the field where it is less wet. The hostel owner is willing to drop & pick you up by boat if you prefer.

Amazing stay in this hotel surrounded by nature, monkeys and parrots. The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. They put me in contact with a local guide, Carmelo, with who I visited the area.
Thank you again for helping me find my bag that I had forgotten!!

Wonderful place and the unique experience to live among so many animals. Possibility to organize very interesting treks, Frey and all the working people extremely nice and helpful. Conditions are basic and very simple but... you are in the Amazonas. Thanks for beautiful memories!!

I spent a wonderful week here, in the middle of the nature surrounded by animals and great people. The hostel is a short walk from the town, so it´s very quiet and you can hear all "jungle sounds" well during nights. :-)) Fraile is an amazing host, always takes care if you have everything and enjoying your time. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone, I had a great time there, met many other travelers, did a lot of tours and just really enjoyed my Amazonas experience. :-)

Amazing place in the nature, its located a bit outside of Puerto Narino directly at the River. Surrounded by many palm trees (with a lot of monkeys)! The owner is really nice, he organised a tour with the boat on the river for us. We really enjoyed the stay!
