The kitchen was well equipped

The staff DO NOT respond to your phone calls, messages or text. It will be 3 months on 12/5/24 since we vacated the premises and we are still waiting for our “damage deposit” to be returned to us. Very unacceptable behaviour from the management of this property. I could not in good conscience, recommend staying in any of their premises.

The room is a typical motel room, with cooking facilities, full size fridge, small private backyard, and car parking in front – nothing great or wrong about it.

What is spectacularly wrong with the place is the management. The booking is required a prepayment of damage bond of $200 (not immediately obvious, look for property messages, or the fine print) . The bond is required 7 days before check in, and instead of Agoda listing saying that it needs to paid via PayPal, manager insisted on direct bank transfer to a personal bank account. This is obviously a security issue, and there are no terms and conditions about how the potential damage will be checked, evaluated, and bond refunded. The Agoda listing says that a guest will be given check-in instructions 3 days before check-in. Manager refused to do so, as their cleaner had to inspect the room after previous guest. We were given check-in instruction 2:45pm on the day of check-in. The booking was for “Two-Bedroom Apartment”. However, one of the bedrooms was locked. There were a few keys on the wall (for back door, etc), but none would unlock that room. We discovered this too late in the evening to contact the management, so no idea why it was like that. But what we got was not what we booked. And the final thing, management stopped responding to our messages 7 days after check-out. No response to the messages, and no refund of damage bond was coming. Complete silence. We had to spent a lot of time and effort on email and phone with Agoda/Booking.com to resolve the situation. At the end the manager still refused to refund us directly, no explanation, no apology. Agoda/Booking.com had to step in, refund us, and bill the management. Our damage bond of $200 was finally refunded a month after it was paid to the property. It was a very unsatisfactory experience due to the management of the property. They managed to turn an unremarkable stay for one night into long drawn annoyance.

*UPDATE* After posting this review I have received multiple nasty emails from 'Sally'. I have adjusted my review from a 4 to a 1 to reflect this, as correspondence such as this is unprofessional and unwanted. 'Sally' acknowledged the issues in her email but said the owner may not have the money to repair the property. *******************************************************************************************************************************  Outside smelt like dead animals No air con, house was very hot inside Very late check in (4pm) Musty smell inside Multiple abandoned cars parked in car park that look to have been there for a long time High cost Electrical safety concern, power board shroudings are just sitting over wires, not secured. (Live power board fell apart when moved) Extension cords everywhere Very little water pressure in shower

Trouble-free. Great communication from host. Super comfortable mattresses. Pet friendly. All the conveniences.

Everything is good

Sally's unit was delightful. It made self catering very easy as there was everything you could need in a kitchen and a full sized fridge. The location was excellent, a short walk to the beach and main street
