Incredible, beautiful and classy. The suite we stayed in was easily one of the most stunning we’ve seen, and we’ve seen a lot. History of the riad is fascinating, as well.

It was a 10/10 place. Staff was helpful and friendly. Our Tamarind room had plenty of space, an amazing bathroom with double shower and perfect views to the Riad. The architecture and decoration is just stunning. Totally recommend Dar Roumana. Delicious breakfast served at the rooftop which gives you a great panoramic view of the Medina and the Meneries tombs. Special mention to Nesha at reception who also does Henna tattoos.
It would be good to have more food options beside the set menu, as maybe you’re not hungry but you have to order the whole 2 dishes menu but nothing bad. Food was great.

Dar Roumana is situated in a beautiful old Riad. The interior is stunning and our room was equally beautiful and well thought through. Great attention to detail with high % cotton sheets and comfy bed. Service for breakfast on the terrace was impeccable. We also had dinner here on our first night which was amazing. We later discovered that it is considered one of the best places to eat in Fes.
Our room (Argana?) was situated on the external wall and overlooked some waste ground. Not sure anything can be done about it but it was very noisy. Noisy from diners in the internal courtyard until about 11 then a procession of dogs barking, donkeys neighing, cockerels. Earplugs advised.

Fabulous. In a late 19th/early 20th century courtyard house with amazing tiling and stucco work. Excellent breakfast was served in the courtyard (with tortoise). Very good restaurant (licensed), deservedly popular with non-residents (we ate there twice). Lovely room, though steep stairs to the beautiful shower room. Wonderful roof terrace with superb views over Fez where the very helpful staff will serve you complementary tea and a billable drink.
Nothing could have been better but it is just a little off the beaten track so can take a litte finding even when you think you know where you are going

Very special place, everything feels historical and perfectly put together. You see the effort and attention that goes into every detail here.

I liked practically everything about this beautiful riad, from big stuff like the roof terrace to the wonderful breakfast to little details like their great taste in music. Just seeing the wood- and tilework in the courtyard is a treat. The location is perfect, too. It's easy to reach by taxi — about a 5 minute walk into the old city from the nearest dropoff — while also giving you access to several convenient routes into the centre of the medina. Spectacular views. Friendly tortoise.
I'm pretty sure this is only a problem for the room we booked (the cheapest double room), but its one window faces the waste ground between the medina and old northern wall, which happens to be the territory of a huge number of stray dogs. I grew up with dogs and love them, and these are not at all dangerous, but they are quite social and love to chat with their friends all night long. Pack earplugs!

The property was absolutely stunning! My partner and I celebrated Valentine’s Day in the Yasmina room which will always be the most beautiful room I have ever stayed. Dinner and the service was also exceptional and would highly recommend staying here.
Outside the room was a bit loud one of the nights.

In all of our travels, this was easily the most beautiful place my partner and I have ever stayed in. I have never seen such gorgeous craftsmanship in a hotel before - Dar Roumana has managed to retain every bit of the traditional charm of the restored building (tile, woodwork, intricately carved plaster), while making sure it has every convenience one could hope for. More importantly, the staff are incredibly kind, hospitable, and accommodating. We were traveling for the first time with our baby, and everyone who worked there was so warm and sweet with him. The cooking at the restaurant and at breakfast is outstanding, with very refined takes on Moroccan dishes and flavors. The location at the edge of the medina is great, too. It was just a short walk to the most vibrant and energetic parts of the medina, while still being calm and quiet inside. I really couldn't recommend Dar Roumana more - if one of their few rooms is free during your visit to Fes, you've got to book it. Thanks again to all of the staff for a fantastic stay!
We truly loved everything!

Excellent reception upon arrival. We arrived late and they let us have dinner while they checked us in. This is a beautiful hotel with an excellent restaurant and very attentive staff. I highly recommend this hotel. Parking is outside the walls of the old city but the hotel sent someone with a cart to help us with our bags and to show us the way. We had a very large room with traditional tile throughout that overlooked the interior covered courtyard (Dar) which is where the restaurant is located. It is a quiet, very peaceful place. We loved it!
We loved it all!

Beautifully restored building, we loved the room. Great location inside the medina underneath the marinid tombs. Easy 5 minute walk from the gate. Take time.to spend time on the terrace to see the sunset and hear the call to prey. The restaurant comes highly recommended. The walking food tour they arranged for us was excellent!

Fantastic location, north end of the Medina. Bfast was sumptuous and included Moroccan and European selections. Dinner was fantastic, along with great selection of local wines from Meknes. Staff was super. Rooftop was magnificent, and made for a memorable visit enjoying a glass of Chardonnay.
Dogs barking in the middle of the night. Not sure what the Riad can do about it, but did keep me awake a bit.

Food was the best in the Medina and the place is a gorgeously restored home with very large and well decorated rooms. The staff was so kind and attentive- even more so than La Mamounia! They even have a pet turtle that lives there :) be ware of the scams in the Medina- the hotel will help explain what to look out for to avoid getting hustled.

Amazing room, very impressive little boutique hotel with good restaurant. Breakfast was super tasty, but the best part was the little balcony in our suite, the best place for mint tea and a book!
Some of the male staff at reception were rather unfriendly and unaccommodating. The female personal, on the other hand, were outstanding and made us feel very welcomed.

The breakfast was lovely, the staff were very friendly
Medina was too confusing, beggars were everywhere trying to make money out of people. You ask for directions, you have to pay!

SUCH a stunning property - from lobby to rooms to rooftop. And such a great value! The food is incredible and the staff is incredibly helpful and kind - especially Redouane!
The AC in my room didn't seem like it was working. I kept it on all night and despite having it at 17 degrees Celsius, the room wouldn't get below 29 degrees Celsius - super rough for sleeping!
Also, you have to pay in cash if you settle for anything less than 1000 dirham - which I wasn't expecting/prepared for. Thank goodness I had some extra USD on me! Would have been great to have a heads up on!
