Siltcoos Lake: The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass. and is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season. Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline. Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon. You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake, including fallen trees, drop-offs. Crappie also hang out around structure and found in shallower water during the spring. Siltcoos is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish. Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below). Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit. The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November. There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams. What’s nearby: This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean beaches including the popular access just off South Jetty Road and the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants. You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean. Some trails wind up over and through sand dunes offering hikers the opportunity to experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera! Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail. Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are offered daily. This was a great property for our family of ten. Large kitchen, living and dining. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Close to shopping, beach, clamming and crabbing.

Spacious kitchen/living area where everyone could hang out while still being able to find private time either going upstairs or down stairs. Hot Tub was used daily with a beautiful snippet of a view with the lake. Not muc commotion from neighbors. Really is just rhe getaway we were looki g for.

If you are looking for a house with open concept and fantastic views then this is your place. Everything was well presented just as you were staying in a hotel. Lake view you saw from all windows. So close to the Dunes, Florence and the beach can’t ask for a better location. 5 stars

We had a fabulous time at Serenity House! This is our 3rd time staying and we were even happier this time! So much space for everyone! Lots of parking and we come down for the dunes and what a nice place to come home to after a long day of riding!

Nice large home, comfortable for our family gathering. Nice location with nice view, plenty of hot water and space, ping pong table, large kitchen, efficient appliences, plenty of towels, and great balcony space/seating.
Could use a little TLC. For instance, the bunk bed didn't look or sound stable so as a result we put the mattresses on the floor, the bedroom chair had a broken leg and was unusable, the hot tub would not stay warm for long, the dinning room table only seats 6, and we slipped and fell a few times using the path to the lake.

Check in was delayed for hours as the cleaning crew was "running late". There was no hot water for washing, etc. Warm only -purposefully set and unchangeable. Likewise limits on the thermostat, etc. This is not a lake side cabin - there is no dock, and no way to avoid getting wet in the marsh leading up to the water line. The house ,which is not new(circa 2007), is not well maintained and wasn't comfortable as the property is squished in between others and share a rather tight downhill drive way with car lights etc.
We'd appreciate some amount of refund.

This was a beautiful home in an incredible location, unfortunately, there were several significant issues with the rental that were discovered during our stay. I want others to be able to make an informed decision when booking.
A big part of the reason we selected this home (at a higher price point than others) was because of the hot tub. We were disappointed to go down in our swimsuits the first night to discover the water was completely cold and the hot tub without power. I reached out to the owner for assistance and didn't receive a response until the following evening. He sent someone over to reset things, but within a couple hours of the "fix", the power was off again. Needless to say, we didn't get to use that amenity at all. I was told I would receive a credit of an unspecified amount as a result, but I haven't received anything yet.
The house had a big beautiful kitchen, but we were unable to get the oven to work. All cooking had to be done on the stove or microwave.
The biggest concern that I have with this rental was the fact that a kayak was offered for guests to use with knowledge there was a hole in the bottom. We thought it was wonderful that the kayaks were offered. There was a sign in the garage letting guests know they could use them and how to clean them after use. My husband took a kayak out with my 7 year old son and said he had to turn around quickly because the kayak was filling up with water. When he got back to the house and flipped over the kayak to rinse it off, he discovered a whole that had duct tape coming off around it. Concerned that someone could drown, I notified the owner of the hole. He replied that they had "taken the kayaks off the amenity list" because renters kept damaging them. He said they were only there because there was nowhere else to put them. I found this response to be so concerning. Instead of putting a sign on the kayaks saying "out of service" and alterting guests of the known hazard, they put up a sign that welcomes guests to use them "at their own risk." There was no notice that the risk was in fact taking a kayak into a large body of water with a hole in it. Please be careful. I would hate for someone to get hurt because they didn't know what they were getting in to. I sincerely hope the owners remove the kayak before anyone gets hurt.
It was too bad these things put damper on our visit, because the house and location (as advertised) would have otherwise made for a great stay.

The house was great and we really enjoyed our stay. It's in a great location and can accommodate a large party no problem. That said, we were a bit disappointed and surprised to find that the master bedroom was locked and not accessible upon arrival as it was not mentioned in the listing.

I can't say enough about this house. It had 2 flights of stairs but was worth it for the bedroom space upstairs, middle floor had an open floor plan with HUGE kitchen, dining room, living room and deck with a beautiful view. Basement is set up for a family with young children. Garage has a ping pong table and opens up to the back yard. It is very nice. Short walk to the lake. We didn't have time but they also had 2 kayaks. LOVED the place.

Northwest Visit
Wanting to get together with our college buddy for our annual golf and tourist outing this year we saw Florence as a fun place. We three wanted a home to be scenic, comfortable, and enjoyable to hunker in for any days of rain. Our Serenity Lake House was perfect for all that: a scenic view on the lake, wide open living and dining room with huge picture window. It is well equipped and designed, and easy in every way. A few minutes north into town, we had a quiet and tranquil setting. iTrip made the arrangements for our stay easy and congenial. We had a delightful visit, and no matter what we did, returning to this lovely home at the end of the day was always a highlight.

Wonderful large home near the lake. Amazing views and sounds of nature with lots of deer roaming around! Plenty of space for our large party of 9, kids loved the ping-pong table and the kayaks were an extra surprise! Plenty of linens and towels. A few negatives are the shower upstairs never got hot, maybe got luke warm. The kitchen could be better organized so that the renters can utilize the pantry space for food. Having a larger supply of handsoap, dishsoap,, laundry pods, dryer sheets, toilet paper and paper towels would have been nice, we had to go buy extra so we could stay the length of time we had reserved because we ran out. Also having some Tupperware, napkins, baggies, tinfoil or suranwrap would have been nice.

Nice clean and quiet
Relaxing location and amenities. Suggest a bit more in the kitchen, but still an excellent stay. Thank you for offering it to guests.

We had a great stay at this property. Stocked great had plenty of towels which is great. I would have gave 5 stars across board if they had at least 1 kind size bed. The beds upstairs were pretty broke down. My husband is a very big guy, 6' 4" and we both couldn't sleeping bed because it sunk in middle. Other than that it was great!
