Very comfortable and spacious. Being on the top of the mountain affords an almost 360 view with the leaves off. Mills River is ideally situated to all the attractions and has a small mountain town feel.

My family and I met up here in Mills River for Thanksgiving week. We had a great time exploring the area- spent time in Asheville and Hendersonville... enjoyed the Appalachian Mountain Brewery- twice!! You must get the cornbread if you go! The dog park nearby was an extra bonus for our dog. The wifi was slow but maybe it was a sign for us to be unplugged for a few days. All in all, we would stay here again!

A warm and cozy mountain retreat with easy access to Asheville and a great fire pit area. We weren’t able to get an internet connection for using the TV throughout the stay.

This was just what we were looking for. Listing was accurate. Property in good repair. Owner and agent communications were perfect. Cellphone service was good, so the balky wifi wasn't a concern as we were able to create a robust hot spot. Narrow, curvy road up the mountain is not a problem if you go slow and pay attention. Overall a wonderful property.

This was my family’s home base while we were in town for a convention. It was very peaceful and beautiful up in the Smokey’s. Would stay here again for sure.

We came up to check our property in North Asheville and participate in an agility trial with our dogs Great back yard for dogs and humans
Beautiful flora all around Home was just right for us It was just the two of us House was clean and had washer and dryer which perfect for us and close to trial site We had not ventured this far south of Asheville, it is beautiful
country
We would stay here again without a doubt

We had 6 adults, an infant, and a dog. The home was a perfect fit for our family with plenty of room to spare. The only negative was the Wi-Fi to which the signal was so weak it was unusable but to be honest it was nice to get away from the electronics for a weekend. This home is very clean with up to date interior. We also enjoyed the privacy with really no neighbors in site. Definitely will look into booking this home again in the near future.

We had a wonderful stay at this house however, we needed a strong Internet connection, which this did not provide. We did not read the fine print. I think it should be made known in description as I needed to remote work. I know it was my fault for not checking fine print, but it could’ve been clearer. I don’t know how four or five smart TVs are supposed to work without high-speed Internet, so we weren’t able to watch any TV either not even the free channels that were on the smart TV worked, because nothing would stream. I don’t know if they cannot get high-speed there or what the issue is. I did not notify anybody about this at the time because once there, we saw stated in the fine print. Evolve states, there is a blender, but there is not so that should be updated. And the back door to the porch would not stay closed. We had to use a chair up against it to lock it at night or if we left. We enjoyed the porches and beds very much, but the driveway up was one way and kind of scary if somebody was coming up or down at the same time because it’s very narrow and hardly any places to move over. This is typical in the Mountain area, but if you plan to go up and down often, this is good to know. Still lots of good about this house plenty of room and space to spread out. Some games would be a nice addition and mixing bowls in the kitchen. Thank you for letting us stay.

My mom, husband, kids, and dog really enjoyed our stay. The location was so peaceful and remote, but also super convenient to all amenities. Coffee on the porch was our favorite. Check in was easy and communication with owner and rental company was very good.

Wonderful property as listed. Secluded but near enough to be able to get out and enjoy the area! Thank you!

It was all just ok. Nothing overly fantastic but nothing hugely wrong either. We needed a place near breweries for tours with friends. It served that purpose but things like extra towels, bath mats, a/c that was turned up while we were gone, all made it ok - but not super nice or over the top great.

Having our home remodeled created the need for a nearby vrbo rental and we landed on this NEW listing. Super convenient for keeping an eye on our construction project, taking child to high school etc but for, out of town guests visiting the Greater Asheville area, this Mills River home is in a great location! The winter mountain views are great - enjoy sunrise on back deck and sunset on front porch. The home was well appointed and had most things anyone could need. Our teenage daughter enjoyed the very private downstairs bedroom and second living/movie room (as did mom and dad, LOL). The fenced in backyard was very nice for our two doggies as well.
With this being a new rental with the owners living in Florida, we expected some issues which we understand the owner will soon address. First, the KWIK lock on the main entry door does not work properly. We were locked out for over an hour in the very cold temperature...taking over 100 tries for the lock to recognize our code. We had no way of locking the house securely for three weeks (not good). The listing should have included some language about winter accessibility. It is a one lane steep road and NOT state maintained (as a local, had I known that in winter, I likely would have rented something else). Upon our arrival, there had been a very significant winter storm and the drive up was VERY icy. We understand the cleaning crew prior to our arrival actually went off the road and the neighbors had to pull them back onto the road. Week two we had another cold snap come through that froze the water pipes into the house. There is an above ground well house that is not insulated. We fortunately found an electric cord and unfroze the pipes with a hair blow dryer which took several hours. Over the three weeks, we noticed water pressure steadily decline due to clogged well/water filter into the house. By the end of our stay, you couldn't take a shower without both bathroom shower-heads making a whiny ear-piercing scream.
Again, we understand the owner will be on-site soon (they recently bought the home themselves) and intends to address maintenance issues with the home. Otherwise, the beds are comfy, we had most everything we really needed, the location is great (aside from select winter road scenarios/freezing pipes), and the area/attractions are super convenient. Lots of fun things to do nearby! I have no doubt future renters will enjoy this home once work is complete.
