This cozy cabin is centrally located in Kings Beach where vacation begins. The cabin is walking distance to Lake Tahoe, great trails less than ½ mile from the home for hiking and mountain biking, and downtown Kings Beach is 5 blocks away. Downtown Kings Beach has several restaurants, shopping, a large public beach, and mini golf in the summer! The main floor has an open floor plan with a gas fireplace to warm up beside. Pine cone Cottage has cozy furnishings and decorations throughout. The kitchen is always well equipped for your stay. There is enough seating in the dining room to easily accommodate 8 for family meals, and with the supermarket less than 1 mile away, you can stock up on your way in for you may never want to leave! The south facing deck will be a pure joy with a morning cup of coffee or good book. In the summer, you can relax on the hammock in the backyard. Eight people (two families or a group of friends) will have lots of space to enjoy a vacation in this home. On the main floor there are 2 bedrooms: a queen bedroom and a bedroom with a bunk bed and additional twin. The main level also has 2 bathrooms with showers and laundry room. Upstairs you will find a full bathroom and 2 bedrooms with king beds in each, Features: * Gas Fireplace * Large backyard * Large front deck * Quick walk to downtown Kings Beach * 5 blocks to Lake Tahoe Bedroom Configurations: Bedroom 1: Queen Bedroom 2: Bunk Bed & 1 Twin Bedroom 3: King Bedroom 4: King Location: Kings Beach offers a wide variety of activities for the whole group. Downtown Kings Beach has restaurants, shopping, and groceries. The very popular and large Kings Beach State Recreation Area has options for kayaking, paddle boarding, boating, parasailing, and more. In the winter months, NorthStar, Mt. Rose, Diamond Peak are all within close distance. Please visit our website and follow our “Tahoe Guide” with updated things to do in your specific area. Other things to Note: * Use of the BBQ is not guaranteed in winter months, due to limited access. * Due to the temperate climate, like most homes/condos in Tahoe, this one does not have Air Conditioning. There are plenty of fans available in the event that we have an unusual hot spell. * Parking is available for 4 cars total. All cars must park on the driveway. No street parking per county ordinance *Prepare for mountain or winter weather driving in winter months. This may mean Four wheel drive with snow tires or chains. Check weather or road reports. Great cabin near Lake Tahoe. We went to Mount Rose which was less than an hour away. There was sufficient rooms and parking for all of us. Place was clean and beautiful.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A nice property with very good location. We had a very nice stay overall. Just a few points to note:Heating: There were no instructions on how heating was controlled. We could not figure out the upstairs heating at all. Nor could we control it. The downstair heating was mainly from the fire place which we could not leave on when we went out. By the time we got back, it wads cold again. There is only 1 heater vent close to the dining room which doesnt heat the living room much.Supplies in the kitchen - Please provide a bit more spices in the kitchen. All we got was salt, pepper and coffee and sugar. There was no oil either.Shoveling - Guests like us who have never lived in snow were asked to shovel and clear the driveway. Atleast have a snow machine that can be used to remove so much snow. For those of us who cannot physically do it, it will be easier.Downstairs bathroom - the bathroom next to the living room had some issue with the window or something. It was freezing. We could not use it at all. Even the room with the bunk beds was freezing.

The house was perfect for our group. Check in was easy, house was as advertised, and was in a perfect location. It is a little older, but don't let that fool you. Plenty of room to move around. THANK YOU !!

Great stay at Pine Cone Cottage

We had a wonderful time at the Pine Cone Cottage. It was a rustic cottage, as described in the website, but that was appealing to us more than a modern home would have been. It had everything we needed for our stay. We had two families, one with very young children, so it worked well to have 2 of 4 the bedrooms at opposite parts of the house. The house location was great, as it was walking distance to the beach, a playground, and restaurants... The only thing I can think of as a negative was that the wifi signal in the bedrooms off of the kitchen was pretty weak so it was hard to use wifi in those bedrooms. But stepping out side those rooms was all it took to get a good signal, so it wasn't a big problem.

The house was great in that the kitchen well was stocked, the fireplace was very warming, the appliances were in good working order and the beds were comfortable. I did not find certain rooms to be very clean. In particular, the upstairs bathroom had a moldy smell. Lots of dust on the coffee table and walls. Also, please fix the drip in upstairs bathtub faucet. Not cool to see water being wasted during a drought.

This was a good setup for two families. Two rooms upstairs and two rooms downstairs. The queen bedroom downstairs had a squeaky bed, but it was comfortable. The kitchen was good size, and had what we needed to cook. The dining room table was a bit small for all of us, but we made it work. We reached out to let the prop mgrs at the end of the trip to let them know about a couple of items that didn’t work or needed fixing, but nothing big. Loved the location and the fireplace/gas stove for the cold weekend. Upstairs beds were comfortable.

this cabin was perfect for our combined family ski trip. We had 6 kids aged 1-14 with two separate families. The sleeping arrangements were perfect and as described. The living room was quite cozy with the gas fireplace. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook the food we needed to. Easy to find and close to town. Would rent again.

The property was as advertised, but could use a few tweaks. The front door lock and door jamb were a little concerning. The door latch became wedged and locked in the jamb and had to call the emergency number provided for assistance. The jamb needs to be replaced due to wood rot, however we felt secure with the dead bolt operating properly. The third bath shower has very little water pressure and was basically useless. The interior is somewhat dated, but very clean... and the gas fireplace/stove was a big plus. I would definitely stay again.
