About this house rental
Nestled in Sugar Mountain, this charming house for R 3,191 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Welcome to Byrd's Eye View on Sugar Mountain! This unique house is perfect for your mountain vacation. Conveniently located minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, and you can even take a walking trek to the top of Sugar! An easy drive to Boone and Blowing Rock. You have never seen anything like this place! Byrd's Eye View presents a modern mountain cabin merged with a Renaissance period feel due to the intricate stonework throughout the interior and exterior of the house. The back roof is dome-shaped and the front of the house is full of beautiful windows to connect you directly with the trees and mountain air. Bamboo floors throughout. In the cooler months, the fireplace heats the whole house and creates a perfect atmosphere for unwinding. The front porch is ideal for relaxing mornings with coffee and evenings with wine. The kitchen is large and wide-open and fully stocked for your use. There is a washer and dryer on-site. The downstairs bedroom has a Dream Cloud, Queen bed and is located behind the fireplace. Next door, is the downstairs full bathroom with a heated floor. Upstairs is the loft with a luxurious King-sized bed and a half bath that is part of the room. (This is a very European style!) The name Byrd's Eye View comes from looking out the cathedral window from the top of the stairs. The house has sufficient parking space for two vehicles. 4WD vehicles are recommended in winter months. The two bedrooms provide sufficient space for four adults; or more if you want to use the couches for sleeping spaces. (Maximum of 6 adults allowed to stay overnight and maximum of 6 guests allowed at one time on the property.) Because of the stonework throughout the house, we feel Byrd's Eye View is most appropriate for children aged 9 years and older. (Exceptions can be made with parental consent.) Byrd's Eye View welcomes your furry family members as well. The house has a side yard that is fenced and the front porch is gated! Check in time: 4:00pm Check out time: 10:00am Sugar Mountain Resort is just up the road, where you will find an outdoor skating rink, snow tubing, mountain bike tours, summer ski lift rides, a public tennis court, and a full golf course. There are plenty of restaurants close by including The Pedalin’ Pig and Bella's Italian. Lowe's Foods and Food Lion are close by for grocery options. Downtown Banner Elk and Beech Mountain are fun mountain hangouts. Take an afternoon to drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and visit downtown Blowing Rock for shopping and dining. Grandfather State Park is a must-see! (Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance.) Tons of live music options. And of course Boone and Appalachian State are just up the main drag! Hiking is everywhere; from easy to strenuous. Again, just a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway, especially over the Linn Cove Viaduct, is absolutely breathtaking. We visited the cabin over Thanksgiving and we had the best time. The kitchen is very well stocked and has plenty of room for meal prep. Large smart TV for relaxing in the evenings in front of a fire. There is an abundance of hiking as well as plenty of other activities. I would highly recommend this cabin!

Overall just a wonderful spot. It was prepared for guests to arrive and was equipped for staying there for a relaxing time. You're also close to attractions, shops, food, and town if you want to get out, but we stopped and got food to cook the while weekend, and it was worth it. So enjoyable. We'll be back and will be recommending to others.

Cozy cabin located in an ideal location for Boone, Banner Elk, numerous hiking trails and beautiful sites along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Close to the commercial essentials for any stay, restraints, groceries, shopping. Beautiful deck and rustic wood and stone interior, large dinning room table or breakfast table off a fully stocked modern kitchen. Private bedroom or loft overlooking the living room for sleeping, and very comfortable reclining sofa complete the get-a -way mountain retreat.

The house was very clean and the most well-supplied VRBO we've ever stayed at. We enjoyed building a fire each evening in the chiminea on the deck. Love how the entire property was fenced in so we didn't have to worry about out pup wandering off. The roads in front were quite busy though, but inside the house it was very quiet. Loved the closeness to Grandfather Mountain and other scenic places, and the neighbor, George and his son Jr. were wonderful.

Erin made everything so easy and was so welcoming! The location was perfect- we hiked, got in to Boone, and enjoyed Banner Elk. So easy to get groceries, eat out, and do many activities.The cabin was beautiful, well designed, and spacious. We spent a lot of time on the front porch. Slept better than I have in years! Look forward to another visit.

Wonderful, quiet area that's super convenient to everything. Host provided great instructions and guidance for electronic devices and appliances. Our dogs enjoyed the yard and deck and we loved not having to walk them!

The cabin is cozy, well stocked and ideally situated and Erin is wonderful. We got some snow, so the skiing was great, but we really enjoyed hanging at the cabin after a tiring day. Thanks Erin!

This amazing cozy cabin is perfect for your getaway to the North Carolina High Country! The location is absolutely ideal for taking advantage of the many great things this area has to offer. After a day of play, you return to this relaxing oasis and enjoy quiet and peaceful surroundings. Erin is an AMAZING host! You will notice all sorts of extra personal touches around the house to make your stay convenient and enjoyable. I can't recommend this property and host enough! Book it! You won't be disappointed!

We loved staying at this cabin in Sugar Mountain. It was the perfect little vacation home and had everything we needed. Super closed to the slopes and we were fortunate to have snow. Communication with the owner was very easy. We will be back!

This property was exactly as shown in the listings. It was immaculate and well-stocked not only on linens, but also on kitchen utensils, kitchen appliances, dry condiments such as coffee, sugar, tea, creamer, salt, pepper, etc., and even First Aid items! The kitchen had a full array of small appliances such as coffee maker, microwave, toaster, etc. The bed was very comfortable, as were the couches in the living room. The long dining room table was great for spreading out and doing work, and the view was great! The only negatives we had were lighting (bulbs were too low wattage) and the fenced-in backyard had a low fence that our 65 lbs dog could easily jump so we had to keep her on her leash. Overall, this was one of the best places we have ever stayed anywhere!!! Highly recommended!

This place was great for a long weekend getaway. The owner had all instructions written out and a lot of great recommendations for dinning and activities. The property was just as described and accurately shown in pictures. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Erin is an excellent host and provides even the tiniest of details for the guest. She provided all linens, towels, starter supplies and so much more. Very accurate directions to this hidden retreat and easy access. Best VRBO experience so far for our family. I highly recommend this beautiful home with wonderful mountain view.

To say this property is fully stocked is an understatement. Anything you could think of was thoughtfully provided - need a piece of tin foil? It's there. Need an extra trash bag? Provided. Forget a toiletry item? Not to worry! The cabin is very unique, very special and we enjoyed our stay tremendously. Don't hesitate to book it - your expectations will be exceeded!
