Don't stay here

Staff were nice enough

Really shocked us how outdated and inadequate the accommodation was. Mold on bathroom walls and ceiling, even the toilet paper. Bathrooms are communal (no private bathrooms) and are from 1970's era with the worst showers I've seen. Room without air-conditioning and seemed a little dirty. Was fully expecting to have bugs. Needs a huge revamp if they want to continue selling this service. Or at the least make it dirt cheap. I feel bad reviewing but it was really bad. Something out of Mad Max. Restaurant was great and staff were nice enough

convenient location, amazing food, welcoming locals and the venue was clean and tidy.

Very user friendly to get in and out of. the bar, bistro and accomodation areas were well defined and easy to navigate around.

The shared shower situation was different.

How dirty and unclean the shared bathrooms were. The room had a smashed lamp next to the bed.

Will not stay here again or recommend to family and friends.

The staff were polite and accommodating.

Facilities were not up to scratch and extremely unclean. Didn’t stay to shower as other occupant’s dirty towels were left all around the bathrooms. Air conditioning unit without a remote lead to no cooling options in one room and the window didn’t open in the other room, on what was a hot night. Sadly, what seemed to be a fair price significantly underdelivered on our expectations.

Wish them well and they deserve support, but the place needs work

The owners were genuine and helpful.

Unfortunately the place was too run-down which can be overlooked for the price but the cleanliness was appalling and needs immediate attention.

all the bathrooms were filthy. I left an hour after booking in. I couldn’t spend the night there with no clean bathrooms.

Daniel, you and you're team are a true testament to the great business you run in the iconic Hunter!

The location in Quiet Kearsley was fantastic, the pub was a real nice environment with old school charm! Daniel the publican and his staff were fantastic with our stay and I would definitely recommend staying here. Beds were mega comfy, the location was spot on and being from a heritage city in Queensland can appreciate the beautiful old building.

sadly though not the fault of the pub, the Telstra mobile service in the area was not good, this left me to rely on the pubs free wi-fi connection which was not too bad, but did slow down in peak hour. I don't tend to let things worry me like this normally as less connection the better for me LOL.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. Quite bar.

Old building with mould on walls in bedroom. No facilities. Communal fidge, toaster & kettle were dirty and looked like they hadn't been used in a long time. A tidy up of the corridor and communal space would go along way in a place like this.

A really friendly place to stay.

I loved this country pub. the locals are really friendly and the management are lovely. As a single mum with teenagers I couldn’t have felt more safe and welcome.

Its an old pub so a bit rough around the edges but that was also part of the charm.

Very good

Daniel the owner was awesome, wish him and his family all the best as only took over the hotel 9 months ago. He took the time to come over and chat after lunch and even kept open to ensure we all got back from the concert, incase we wanted a nightcap and the food was great.
