Everything was just amazing. We got recommended this place from our lovely hostel lady back in Bohol, and it turns out even better than we expected. Located next to Paliton Beach which is just a 5min walk, which is super convenient, and like a 5-10min drive to central San Juan. Mama Rita, and her staff, especially the guy whose name i never got, made the place super homey and warm. They took such good care of us during our stay and truly went the extra mile to get to know us. Breakfast was banging, I have a thing for guava jam now, and every two three days, they set-up a movie night which is super cute and lovely.
Only downside is the AC, can get super chilly being on the bottom bunk and super hot on the top bunk. Not quite sure why.

Rita est une hôte adorable et aux petits soins. Je vous recommande à 1000% l’auberge, on se sent comme à la maison 🏡

The staff were all super friendly and helpful, they were always available to assist. I met some great people there as it’s only a small hostel you make friends with everyone which was lovely and great for solo travellers. The rooms, common area and bathrooms are cleaned daily. Cool showers which is great for me in the heat! Air con in the rooms which is perfect for a good nights sleep.
Unfortunately the water went off at one point however the staff were so quick to have this fixed so it wasn’t much of an issue.

Staff were very nice and friendly and willing to help where they could. 5 minute walk to a nice beach. Quiet location with not much around if that's what you're looking for.
Dorm was not very clean, there was an ant trail in the dorm. A/C in the dorm didn't work very well so was quite hot at night. Every time a new guest arrived there was 10 minutes of confusion about which bed they were in. Outdoor style showers were dirty and none of the locks on the showers worked. The name says 'cafe' but the only food they serve is some undercooked toast for breakfast.

I really recommend this hostel. I really enjoyed my stay there, met nice people and the owner and employees are the kindest people I‘ve ever met. The owner helped me out with every question I‘ve had and took good care of me. She even gave people driving lessons who’s never ride on a scooter before haha :D Because it’s a small hostel, it has a very cozy vibe!

staff and owner are very kind and accommodating, location is short walk to paliton beach (paid entrance but one of the most beautiful on island), their homemade pineapple jam each morning was delicious, very peaceful area. only 2 dorms/rooms in general so very small and tight knit place
I really wish I had a better experience here but think I just got unlucky. first, they were overbooked the first night I was there even tho I booked and paid in advance and I was made to go stay 10 mins (drive) down the road, away from all of my friends, in the backup hostel (it was nice but I was literally alone). bathrooms could use some upgrades (toilets didn’t flush much of the time, even a water bucket next to it might be nice for that). AC unit right next to our heads made a few of us sick from being really dried out at night. no outlets next to beds in rooms and wifi doesn’t reach the rooms well. lastly, I did laundry which I was told had a 24hr turnaround time but I came back more than 24hrs later to everything I own soaking wet still. I had to catch a ferry so was made to take all of my wet clothes as is. still had to pay for this even tho it meant I now had to wash my clothes again due to bad damp smell. I know it rained the night after I did laundry but I think there should be an undercover area for clothes, it be taken down at night, or just don’t accept laundry if you can’t guarantee 24hrs for dry (not sure what would happen in the rainy season if you needed to wash). was made to feel like it was my fault for choosing to do laundry there and not go somewhere else but how could I have known it would have turned out like that:/

The dorms are very spacious and clean. Beds very comfortable and towels the softest and smelling sooo good (funny how you appreciate this kind of things after few months of traveling ☺️). Common area is also really nice! Allowing you to chill or have a nice breakfast and coffee in the morning ☺️
I loved staying in Love Shack! 🧡 Maybe would just add curtains for beds, but after 1st night I already forgot they are not there 😁

The best hostel. Such a great atmosphere and Rita is so helpful with everything. From renting a scooter, amazing breakfast through to the best things to do on the island.
It’s also located next to one of the best sunset beaches we’ve seen!

Bed is comfy, we had good sleep. Staffs are super friendly and accommodating! Close to the beach :)
There's no water supply in toilet during our stay so we had to fetch water from the shower room
