The vaulted great room with spacious kitchen, woodstove and 6-seat dining table is ideal for gathering together for meals, playing games or watching TV. Plenty of windows and skylights bring in lots of natural sunlight. This 3-bedroom cabin is perfect for a family vacation or 3 couples. The vaulted great room downstairs is perfectly comfortable for everyone to gather around the TV or the woodstove. The cook will not be left out of the fun with the open kitchen layout and dining area. Two bedrooms downstairs each have a queen bed and share a full bathroom with tub and shower. My partner & I booked to stay a few days around Mt Hood for some day hiking at the tail end of our trip. The cabin was well located - easy enough to drive to several of the trails but also an easy drive back to Portland for us to catch our flight. The cabin was really lovely aside from a few small things - 1) There were starter amounts of most basic supplies (like dish soap) with the exception of paper towels. There was maybe a handful of napkins but no paper towels in the kitchen. 2) The coffee pot reservoir was pretty grim & saw at least one dead mosquito inside. We picked up some vinegar and ran it through the water reservoir a few passes to sort that out. 3) The TV service in the living room wasn't working and we couldn't work out why. There was an Amazon Fire stick plugged in but it didn't have a power cable so couldn't get that running either.
All minor things and we still had a wonderful stay aside from that. The cabin truly is stocked for nearly any kind of cooking you'd want to do. They have a full cabinet of games. The area around the cabin is wonderfully tranquil with all the trees. We saw a small family of deer wandering around a few times which was a treat.

When the weather changed and gave Oregon an epic storm, this was a very nice place to be. We thought the week would be cold and dry, lots of skiing, snowshoeing and hot tubing. That did turn out to be the case, but much closer to the cabin, right outside the door in fact. We ordered more wood before the storm, so we were nice and toasty warm. Luckily our power stayed on all week. This is a lovely warm cabin with a great location, far enough from town to seem remote, but close enough if one needed something. The cabin was clean, pretty well appointed, attractively decorated, and darn comfortable.

Nightmare of a trip. We get inside, No wood stove for heat, just a sign saying “sorry it’s broken” during January in the mountains, somewhere where power was out. The power goes out often, and they are so unprepared. I shouldn’t even need to say more but to save someone else from this experience I will.
Door was locked when we got there, door code did not work. We had to wait an hour in the cold with a 2 year old waiting for them to come open it.
No emergency lighting even though the website says it is included.
No landline as stated in the book.
Random stranger came on to the property and was declining to leave, we had no way to call for help.
The electricity was off all weekend. The property owners knew an entire day before we checked in and offered no Warning so we could bring lighting.
The people who work here offer no help, they are rude and do not care. I do not recommend staying with this company. The cabin itself was beautiful so it was a huge shame. There was also a huge tree that had fallen on the hot tub. So dangerous! The floors were also dirty when we got there and covered in someone else’s dog hair. It was truly a nightmare. Had to get refunded for the whole weekend thankfully after I was yelled at and lied to by Trish from their office.

This cabin is a wonderful getaway in the middle of a gorgeous area full of hiking opportunities. Lots of room, nice kitchen, very comfy master bed and nice living room area complete with TV and movie channels such as Netflix. Security motion lights make you feel safe with a nice fire pit and plenty of wood. There is no AC, but we kept the windows open and it cooled us very well. The hot tub works well, but difficult to use at night as there are no lights in the vicinity of the hot tub. We would definitely come back again.

1 of 2 issues: Considering we had 8 people we needed more than the 2 cars "allowed" so I called and was told that we Might be able to fit a 3rd car in but they couldn't promise and we weren't supposed to park on the street. We were told we could park in the grocery store parking lot over night if we had extra. ??Does the grocery store know you tell people that?? The guests made huge efforts to get everyone who was coming at different times and from different directions into only 3 vehicles. Which also required us to figure out a safe place to leave the other vehicles. When you arrive to that house it is Obvious that we Easily could have fit 4 cars in that driveway and a fifth if we had put any vague effort into it. The coordination and time required was Unnecessary. There should be more specific information for each house so they'd be able to tell us the truth versus vague assumptions. 2 of 2 issues: Having to go to the office Before 5 to pick up Anything is Ridiculous in this day and age. Why exactly do you feel you need to lay eyes on people?? Between key holders and key codes there should be no reason in 2019 why we should have to go to your office. Again, time and coordination I shouldn't have had to deal with. (I don't have to go to any office with Vacasa!)

Cozy Bear was comfortable for a relaxing weekend getaway. Though it is near a road, it is not a busy one and we felt secluded in the woods. There were a few items missing (lighter for the wood stove and kitchen towels). The staff promised them the next day but did not deliver. The living area is very dark - if you like to read (or anything else non-electronic) bring a lamp or two.

I warned them about the Pacific Northwest :) Only slight bugaboo was the grill would not go past 350 degrees the second time we used it, checked both canisters and they appeared to be full, otherwise all good.

My girl friends and I like to hear to Mt Hood every few months for a weekend getaway. We’ve stayed in LOTS of cabins over the years and Cozy Bear is our fave! The kitchen is the best stocked I’ve seen for a rental, the open floor plan is awesome for one of us to be doing a puzzle at the dining table, one to be cooking it up in the kitchen and the rest to be watching movies - but we can still talk and enjoy our together time. Cozy Bear is clean, quiet, private but easy to get to and a quick run to the store for provisions. Three of our group work in property management (so we’re picky about rentals) and the team at Mt Hood Rentals is professional, friendly, helpful and responsive! Definitely will be coming back for years of girl’s trips!

This is definitely rustic... not our ideal for a family of five. Heavily wooded to a creek on one side with road on another. Almost haunting, including neighboring weird A frame & property across stream. Driveway nor path to cabin are paved rocks) and presented a mess with rains. Advertised sleeps 8 and shows 2 twins upstairs... only had a queen instead. No sheets, pillows or comforter for the pull out couch bed that was nasty.... we looked everywhere. Can't be that expensive to have a backup set in a closet. As a result, we had to raid the other room beds for a night before the mint company came out the next day. Also didn't like that the only bathroom downstairs was right off the main room. The main room also needs a warm, big rug rather than furniture sliding around on pseudo wood floors. Not for us.
