Pickwick was the name of the family who owned the major coach company and White Hart Inn. Pickwicks coaches were a common site on the street of Bath and this is the name DIckens chose for his central character. Moses Pickwick who owned the Company with his family, lived in and eventually passed away in this house in 1869.
