Juts not a 5 star hotel - prices are for 5 star but service, food, rooms etc are all max 4 star

Absolutely beautiful property. Well maintained. We loved that there were adult only options for relaxing by the pool. The food was not the best we have ever had but not terrible. Loved that there were multiple places to dine on the property as well. We ended up spending a majority of our time at the resort because it was such a nice space and perfect for resting and recharging our batteries.

We have stayed at several properties in Grand Baie over the years and this property is very good in terms of the building and location, however it is let down (I am scoring on the basis of a 5* resort and in comparison to others nearby) by a very poor check-in (40-45 min wait in lobby followed by issues with booking and having to produce my reservation confirmation), service in the main restaurant can be extremely slow (eg 30 min for a coffee at breakfast and long waits between courses at dinner). However these issues are partially offset by a small number of very good staff whose efforts make the overall experience very good. I dont believe the Lux delivers sufficient uplift in service to justify the uplift in price when compared to neighbouring properties (4* and 5*)

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The architecture is amazing and the views are beautiful. Everywhere is kept clean and you feel at home. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly especially the hotel manager Nicolas! The food from breakfast to dinner was delicious. We also enjoyed a lovely dinner in Ai Ki Su which was made even better by our amazing waiter Oliver. This hotel is most definitely 5* and we will surely be back.

One of the most beautiful and luxurious properties with amazing service. Great place for a family holiday with my 3 year old- lotsa shells to pick instead of broken coral which seems pretty standard for Mauritius. Small beach but lovely. Great pool. Can’t praise it enough. Wished we stayed longer. Our rooms were on the ground floor and was lovely. Food was amazing. Best brekkies on the island and steaks on the Josper grill were delicious! We went to Jw marriot at le morne after and felt really disappointed with the rooms especially after Sugar Beach Mauritius and Lux Grand Baie and wanted to move back to the Lux group to Lux Le Morne but it was full house and staff say it’s always full so book in advance!!!!!

We stayed 3 nights. The hotel is beautiful and our room on the 3rd floor was very modern and comfortable. The location is great looking over a sheltered bay with lots of complimentary water activities available such as kayaking, paddle boarding etc.. We were also pleased to find quite a good selection of restaurants within walking distance (Bullies and the Beach House in particular). We were very impressed with the facilities especialy the complimentary sauna and steam room within the spa. The only downside for us was the lack of privacy between the main buidling room balconies.

Literally the greatest hotel stay of my life. And I travel quite a bit. Here on honeymoon with my wife and was treated with smiles and incredibly friendly service from the entire staff.

I came to Mauritius to celebrate my birthday. Choose north of the island because it have the best weather and magnificent sunsets. Decided to stay at Lux Grand Baie. I am blown away. When you drive up to the hotel right away you see how beautifully it is designed. Lobby of the hotel will leave you speechless. You walk up to the balcony and see beautiful view of the beach and hotel surroundings. You are being greeted with a delicious non alcoholic drink. Suenna was taking care of me. I have not enough good things to say about her. She is wonderful. I came all by myself and flew all the way from USA. They made sure they have room ready for me when I came very early. She checked on me everyday and made sure I didn’t feel I was there by myself. When I went for dinner for my birthday she had cake ready for me. What a lovely gesture. Will always be thankful for that to her. All the restaurants and bars were spectacular. Breakfast was my favorite. Literally they have everything and much more. Make sure to stop by lobby bar and order coffee and enjoy desserts. I cannot thank Suenna enough and all the stuff at Lux Grand Baie for incredible stay and service. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also hotel is located near town so you can walk and enjoy local cuisine and go shopping. Once again thank you so much for wonderful stay.

Stunning views and décor. The staff were welcoming and willing to please guests with a genuine hospitable attitude. Residential villas were amazing and extremely clean.

Probably the best resort on the island at the moment . Gorgeous facility and family friendly . Perfect size ( not too small but not too big ) . Very attentive staff . Sheila Malloo the resident manager was especially professional accommodating and warm .

Fantastic property with staff that go above and beyond! Facilities second to none! Only small issue is that there could be more varied eating options at lunch and dinner

Worst Experience we ever had from a supposedly 5* hotel.
It was so bad that we had to cut our stay short.
Struggled to get our room in time, and when we got it, we were overlooking a high way and a parking. We found coakroaches in the room.
The balcony door could not be closed and had to be shut. No one showed up the next day to fix it.
The staff was not helpful and each request we made was handed over and over and we did not get things done in a sensible time.
The food was average.

We were very happy with our stay overall. The beach is beautiful. There are corals nearby which you can explore by taking the boat the hotel provides as a complimentary service. There are also other water sports activities offered free of charge. The fitness center staff are great. They offer different and fun activities like ocean swim, yoga, fitness sessions, etc. The app listing activities, events, etc was quite convenient although it wasn't always up to date about the sports activities. The hotel is very well designed with impressive architecture and attention to detail. The rooms have smart technology and are kept spotlessly clean by the housekeeping staff, who responded to our requests immediately. One tech suggestion for the rooms is to separate the lighting settings from curtain settings. The staff at the reception are nice, but they sometimes do not communicate guests' requests to the right staff promptly and accurately. The chefs of the hotel are to be appreciated. They serve great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The one area which needs most improvement is the service at the main restaurant, though. Waiters are not responsible for specific tables, and what we observed happen is that even though you've repeated the order many times to more than one waiter, you don't get your food or drink b/c no specific person is responsible. We've heard other guests complain about this as well. Again, we were quite happy overall and do not regret our choice.

My wife and I had a great holiday at this new resort, which we chose after having a great time at Lux Belle Mare two previous times. The accommodation and setting are excellent, staff warm and proactive. Food is great but two drawbacks are that there are only two restaurants (whereas Belle Mare had 4, although it is a larger resort). The menu at Beach Rouge was heavy on innovative combinations and so like us if you are after more "mainstream" dishes, you should ask the staff and they will be very helpful in accommodating and they will be executed well.

The teams working there are all so lovely and friendly, they made extra efforts to come and speak to us and had plenty of banter which is refreshing! Housekeeping were top class, the rooms were cleaned twice a day and I always loved coming back to a clean and tidy room. They tidied our stuff including electrics really nicely. The restaurant teams were fab, super attentive and friendly again. The food was always very nice, seafood especially. The bar team were also great, they knew their stuff well and were happy to make us bespoke mocktails that were so yummy. The restaurants may be a bit on the pricey side though, would be good to have just one cheaper option on site for quick bites or lunch snacks. The breakfast is a la carte and super yummy, would have liked a buffet on some days though as we had early plans and wanted to eat quickly to start the day. No matter though, we had an amazing stay and felt super spoilt by every single member at the hotel from housekeeping, restaurants, guest relations to spa! Lux Maison had some amazing treats, we had some macaroons and chocolate cake that were both fresh and dreamy! Really recommend if you want to be spoilt rotten and relax! The location and setting of the hotel was perfect. Staff was very friendly. Beach and watersports great! Hotel is a bit dated and needs urgent renovations. Kitchen chefs were fantastic and help with our vegan requirements. Daily program very variable and enjoyable. All in all, a wonderful holiday stay!

Situated in a popular tourist area but in a secluded position. My room was large and comfortable but very dated. It certainly needed more plug sockets and a refurb. Hotel facilities were good and the buffet meals were of a good standard. Loved the beach area. Guests with mobility issues may struggle here as there were steps everywhere.

Very nice place to stay. Room cleaned well by our lovely cleaner Anu. All staff very friendly. I ended up getting sick when I was there, and the staff were very kind asking me how I was doing in the days after (didnt get sick because of the hotel FYI). Great location and well set out - with pool/beach/bar/restaurant all very close to each other. Slightly dated in some parts, but overall a really great place to stay and good value for money.Only two things that were a bit negative - drinks orders at the bar can take a very long time to get to you, and the Wifi in our room pretty much didnt work. Worked great at reception, but had quite a bit of work to do each day where wifi was required, so ended up being at reception.
