The room was cold especially you want coming back after a walked. Called the reception they did bring us radiation. Seriously for 4* hotel lack for heating.

Good location to the prime tourist areas. Hotel was a little tired - had some issues with noise being below the “ Sky” bar. Was a little frustrated at their initial response to correcting the issue but eventually they came around to the right solution. ( but it took energy I don’t want to spend on holiday to get there) Breakfast convenient and average quality but you can find some fuel there to start the day. We paid a premium to be there over Hogmanay -and chose the Hilton brand as I use them a lot in my work travels…

Apart from the cleaning staff who were very friendly, the other staff who I met were a little lacking in hospitality skills in our opinion. The location is fabulous.

Decent location and relatively close to the main areas of the city. Staff ok and efficient but lacking a few of the wow elements of other hotels but good and would come back if price ok

This was our first visit to the hotel and it was for an overnight stay. Hotel is in a good location and is cean and well run. Staff were very courteous and friendly. We'll be back.

Had a lovely overnight stay, clean room, beds were comfortable, hairdryer supplied, coffee making facilities in room. Breakfast was very tasty. Good variety of hot and cold food. Staff were very attentive ensuring you had everything you needed. We will be back.

Very friendly staff, Convenient area as most things were in walking distance, quiet large comfy room.

The beds were super comfy, staff very friendly. Great location The rooms were not quiet, can hear outside noise and from rooms adjacent and above. Room could have been cleaner - old hair and rubbish in bathroom on arrival. Had to ask for tea/coffee as hadn't been replaced from last guest.

Well placed to the centre of the city

We had booked a VRBO stay nearby at MyStayInn that proved to not match the photos or description. So we were desperate to find a decent place for that same night. The Old Town Edinburgh Doubletree Hilton was able to fit us in and then, by changing rooms, hosted us a 2nd night as well. The service was supportive (we were exhausted after driving from Aberdeenshire and being rerouted due to Storm Babette and then the stress of finding out the VRBO was not a place we could stay after all). The bar restaurant had good food - we had no energy left to go out to a late dinner. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom immaculate with lots of hot water from an overhead rain shower. When we had to change rooms gor the 2nd night, we just left our suitcases in the old rooms and staff moved them during the day over to the new room for us. We enjoyed morning tea & coffee thanks to the electric kettle. The shortbread cookies were fresh, not stale. We LOVED our stay and appreciated the kind staff!!!

Great room, clean, smelt nice, everything was clean and new and what you expect of the Hilton brand. Greta service too.

Reception staff chatting no focus on customers Not helpful. Restaurant short staffed Ran out of food did not clean tables bring cutlery. All areas need improvement not staying there again. Good location though !

The only niggles I have is that there was no mirror above the desk and the towels maybe should be replaced as they were quite rough and stained. Also, we accidentally left the do not disturb sign on the door when we went out for the day (totally our fault) but it would have been nice to have been left the daily items at our door (coffee, tea, etc). Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay, the staff were lovely and it was a great location. The room wasn't the biggest and had a very small window so not much natural light. Perhaps a bit overpriced.

Old hotel and rooms smells. Also pets are allowed in this hotel. Bad idea for fleas control.

Handy location to restaurants, grocery store and Edinburgh Castle. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

This is an amazingly well served hotel, in an unbelievably convenient location for business and leisure.

The location is perfect and close to everything. The staff is amazing and worked with us after our flight was canceled. The breakfast is good. Highly recommend it. Parking is offsite but just a short walk away.

Check-in on the app was easy. Room was ready on time. Overhead lights did not work in our room. Callam worked immediately to address and offered a credit for our inconvenience. We loved the location and the breakfast that offered buffet style for on the go or ordering for a more bespoke experience was fantastic. Full marks for the Doubletree and the staff in Edinburgh.

Convenient to attractions in Old Town, but there are adult clubs right around the corner in a dilapidated building and we passed women in the streets on our way back to the hotel in the evening. The room itself was nice enough, but there was an extreme lack of closet and bureau space.

Thank you for a really nice stay! Very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I could not have asked for more..

Hotel is in a nice location but it was not good value for money at all

If you’re visiting the castle then this is the place to stay, just a 10 minute walk. We were pleasantly surprised when we looked out our room window and had a magnificent view of Edinburgh castle.

The property is nice. However, due to my personal issue, I delayed one day to check in. Since I have been fully paid to the hotel. I phoned call to the hotel but there was no answer. When I got there, the reception man said he was sitting in front of the phone for a day and because of our delay he acknowledged we have forfeited the reservation. I wonder for such a honorary hotel, there was no caring to their customers who should be checked in but not being appeared and there was one man sitting in front of the phone. No action to try to contact their missing customer. Finally, we were arranged to another room which was not the same of which we have reserved!
