Super clean and quiet. Close to shore.

Love the property. Clean and new, up to date decoration and facility. The room comes with a balcony which is nice, though not much view to see. Location wise, it is okay, there are dinings and some shops nearby but not many.

In the perfect location in the heart of Bird Rock the motel is a kind of throw back you don't see much of anymore. I appreciated receiving personalized texts prior to and confirming my arrival and the front desk receptionist was very friendly upon checking in.

An affordable hotel in La Jolla. Clean and comfortable. Easy parking and a nice swimming pool. Walking distance to the La Jolla Cliff and Pacific Beach.

Very clean place and walkable to dining and shopping! Wonderful staff who texted me to confirm my arrival and provide dining areas nearby.

We stayed here for a work trip and check in was difficult. They require that you have a CC in hand and the person who owns the CC there with you or they won't let you check in. They say if you pay online that isn't an issue but that wasn't an option for us when booking. Just keep that in mind if you are booking for things business related.

Great location, very comfortable bed, no carpet, which is a bonus! The instructions to T.V. channels are extremely helpful! Nice amenities! The staff is very polite and welcoming. Very easy and quick check-in.

Stumbled upon this hotel and i was pleasantly surprised in so many ways. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Spacious rooms. Great location. Will definitely stay again and recommend to family and friends.

We be stayed here several times. It’s a clean nice room. Only thing I wish there was a coffee maker in room.

Though a fair number of parking spots… not enough. We had to park on the street. The room was a bit odd. Only one chair and only one very small night table for two queen beds. Some electrical outlets didn’t work. Bathroom fan worked… when it wanted to. A fair room rate.

I booked a 3 star hotel, what I received was not that. It is a small hotel with limited parking. Maybe more like a motel. The floors and walls are paper thin and you can hear people in the parking lot and we'll and people walking upstairs. The worse part was , I had to ask for clean sheets when I first got there. The bedding was dirty and obviously not changed between the last stay. The clean sheets I was given had stains but did appear to be washed. I wouldn't stay again.

I was really pleased with our stay at Sands. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Great area to walk around and ample parking both in the hotel lots and on street. Concierge was kind and helpful. And the pool was a really great bonus

This hotel was wonderfully updated, immaculate and well maintained. The staff was professional and helpful and the location was perfect for our needs. We are looking forward to staying there again.

The motel was clean and local but there was no coffee or microwave in the room. No closet, no continental breakfast.

Great location, very clean. Everything was great but I have a bad back and the low bed did me no favors. I walked in the morning near the water, great little park near by, Starbucks in walking distance. if not for my back issue, I would stay here again. Makeup towel - fantastic idea!

When I saw a sliding glass door in pictures I thought there would be a private outside area but it opened into a common area. I was hoping for a private place to read and sip a drink. I had low expectations for a view and there wasn’t one. No breakfast service but there was coffee. There was not much special nearby. I did walk 30 minutes to find more touristy things. Not their fault but every place required $10 min parking if you did not walk. Issues with place was too much light in the rooms. Bathroom had motion detector and light turned on too easy but when I showered it turned off. The mirror had a glowing on button to turn on its light. At night it was like having a night light. I prefer complete darkness. There was also a clock near the tv facing the beds. It was too bright too. I had to turn it off. When we went out for the day we did not display the need maid service sign and so didn’t get any. Normally you get maid service unless you say do not disturb. So nothing was too horrible but it was disappointing.
