Had a lovely stay at the resort. The surrounding gardens were beautiful and the pool was great. The location of the hotel was also excellent and the staff were amazing. Only thing that let the property down was that we kept getting a sewerage smell in our bathroom.

On the internet the property advertised a photo of a beautiful turquoise water beach, but there isn’t any water in the beach half the day. Looks really crappy. When I checked in I was take to my room which was confusing how to get to it. The room smelled like mildew and the bathroom was dirty. I asked for a different room, they said there wasn’t any. I could up grade to a suite for $30 a night. I did that. There was a lot of mosquitoes in the room . The bed was covered a net, but I still got bitten up every night. The food was mediocre. Almost everything had garlic in it. I don’t like gar. The breakfast buffet was the only highlight for the food on property. The staff at the front desk seemed to be pretty slow with finding out answers for questions I had when calling the front desk.they say they will car back with an answer, but never do. I will not be returning to this resort. Don’t be fooled by the nice beach photo. It is false advertising.

After the initial first night of been put in one the worst rooms in the complex, way in the back away from everything & next to a busy/noisy road, with the Rubbish removal Truck at 5:30am. Asked for a change of rooms which they did the next day, to a much better room, close to facilities. Overall Resort is not bad. Staff are lovely & very helpful. Food is edible, but not great. Big resort, so very busy. Probably not a place to stay unless you like crowds.

Far cry from the advertised photos, wasted a week of my life and also $$$

The room was absolutely amazing, it was spacious and beautiful. The entire hotel complex was stunning. All of the staff were so welcoming and kind. We enjoyed every moment of our stay.

Nusa Dua is a quiet area and this place is along a nice beachfront walking path. This resort is very indonesian with extra large rooms, bathrooms which was perfect when sharing with kids, etc. The slight problems we had were with the power points being broken, the wifi was pretty bad, the fridge stopped working at one point altogether - and we all got lost quite a few times going back and forth from the room (better signage might help?). To be fair, this is minor stuff and it's to be expected from a hotel in Bali. We loved the staff, they were incredibly friendly and kind. The buffet breakfast was the best out of all our stays in Indonesia. The pool and pool bar were great and of average size. If you're looking for a quiet, laid-back place to chill out this is it. Don't expect bright modern rooms, more balinesque, dark, timber but super big.

Beautiful gardens and balcony. Staff were very friendly. Pool was great and the swim up bar was handy, plenty of sunbeds. A lack of nearby restaurants that serve local food was a little disappointing but our 9 night stay was so relaxing we had a great time.

This resort did not look like the photos advertised. We picked it due to being on the beach, when we arrived there was barely any beach. You couldn’t even swim and there were a lot of boats around. Our room was outdated and average. Whilst we were in our room, someone was doing maintenance in our roof and a light fell out in the toilet with a hole in the roof. No one came to fix it so we had a hole where the light fixture should have been in our toilet. We could even see a man in our roof above our toilet. We were also told we got upgraded when we arrived but the room did not have a queen bed; we were told someone would come and fix the bed.. once we started to unpack, someone came and told us we need to move rooms, so we had to move again to another room which was not upgraded. We checked multiple times if we could do late checkout and reception kept saying to come back the day before checkout. When we did it wasn’t available, which was frustrating. For the price we paid, we wouldn’t come back unfortunately, as we did not have a good experience.

Great place to stay. Great location, highly recommend Nusa Dua compared to other bali locations.

The resort was beautiful and tidy also staff were helpful and polite, there wasn’t enough place to eat and we didn’t enjoy the buffet. It was below average.

Great hotel. A bit dated, but still charming. Overall service is ok. Breakfast is simple, but good. Other restaurants offer good variety. The beach and pool are very nice.

We were celebrating our Honeymoon here. Staff was friendly. Pool was nice and the poolbar was really nice. :) Room and the hotel was clean. The a/c works!

Very good hotel with fantastic staff.

Great for access and dining by the beach but my room wasnt clean and it smelled damp and musty from the walls. No information in the room about the hotel or local area.

The overall stay was great and staff were lovely. It was a shame when we checked out to be over charged from room service as they never restocked our fridge and accused us of drinking the missing drinks and also other drinks that weren't in the fridge when we arrived. Was definitely the only fault of our stay.

Terrible food choices

This hotel is old but much more authentic Balinese than other sterile hotels around the area. The pool is beautiful and the restaurants on site are affordable with exceptional food. Breakfast has a wonderful variety. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only negatives would be our room was very dark, easily fixed with some cool white LEDs instead of the dull yellow, the staff at the pool bar took a very long time to serve you but once the order was placed it arrived quite quickly! The pool stunning but is deep both ends and this is where the ladder steps are, not very good if you aren’t strong enough to pull yourself up out of the water. Some elderly people found it very difficult getting in and especially out… All in all it was a very enjoyable and relaxing 12 days!

I have extended my stay for four days or more .

we had a great time the whole resort was fantastic and the staff excellent. the only thing was we where having issues with the toilet for a few days, otherwise we had a magnificent time.

Beach (ocean\water) was not as advertised publicized in photos Food was a bit to $$ got double the amount and quality out side the hotel. Alcohol also was NOT included and should be with ALL inclusive. Rooms, Overall Property, and Service were great! I would recommend this hotel along with others but not over others.

I believe the building will appear unique for westerners. But my experience during booking was unpleasant when prior to departure, due to other arrangements i need to change hotel, I was denied changing my booking from 4 nights to 2 nights. I think this is really unpleasant as the booking and changes was requested within the same hour!

At face value the Bali Tropic seems quite nice. When it was built 33 years ago I'm sure it was to an excellent standard however it seems that in the 33 years since it opened no updates have been made. During the Covid period the hotel should have taken steps to address some of the grubbiness such as changing the Light Shades in the pool bar which is rusty, Air conditioning is hit & miss, TV's are old and certainly in the room I had, needed the batteries changed in the remote control. Having booked what I was assured at check in was one of their best rooms I had a view of the on site Temple and stage and my initial thought was 'maybe this is ok'. Queue Sunday morning at 6:20 when the management convened the staff for their 33rd birthday celebrations where they made use of a microphone to make a series of announcements - I know this because I was still in bed. I know that many hotels suffered during the Covid pandemic and have struggled to recover since - this hotel is an excellent example of this. The owners are only interested in more revenues but invest nothing back into the hotel. The staff are paid poorly and as such they struggle to retain them. I wish I had stayed at one of the hotels down the road. If you like bland repetitive food and watered down cocktails then this is the place for you. If not, you'll find better value else where. I'm limited to 1500 characters so I will stop here other than to say I am very disappointed with this hotel

This is a quaint original styled Balinese hotel. There are plenty of hotels along the beach but nothing that you wouldn’t find at any western country. The design is detailed and gardens are lovely. Staff are friendly (as all Balinese people are!) the beach has no hawkers selling their wears , which is a nice break. There’s a few good food places out on the Main Street for an easy walk if you wanted to leave the resort……had the most excellent Indian across the street called kebabs & Kurries..delicious!! There’s plenty to do at Bali tropic or a great environment to kick back and do nothing. We will return.

The buffet breakfast is a standout - we ate dinner one night at the resort which was disappointing. The report is a little dated but feels authentically Balinese. The grounds are a delight and the staff are so polite, friendly and eager t o help.
