Beautiful property and excellent room (junior suite). Nice breakfast.

I have visited theCape Panwa 7 times over the last 23 years and very little has changed. However certain areas have now fallen way below what weI expected. Service in all areas is so poor that guests have given up eating in the hotel. Breakfast is not a patch on what it used to be and is the same everyday. There is no supervision of staff, clearly no training for new staff even to understand the basics of serving a guest.
A few of the remaining long term staff have also given up ( their words not mine) as no one seems to care anymore.
The decking around the pool area has been there for over 30+ years and is now so dangerous for all guests. Tiles are missing from the main pool and rust is showing in the pool. There are many other tripping hazards in and around the hotel which have been painted black so you can see them better, especially in the dark. ( Really).
The hotel general manager was on site but not once did I see him talk to a member of staff or a guest. What a shame for such a beautiful place to have fallen.

The property itself is beautiful and scenic. We loved the private beach, and the view from breakfast never got old. But the food and service is severely lacking, as well as much of the accommodations becoming outdated and worn. The staff at the front desk are helpful and accomodating, but that's where it ends. Several times there were situations I could have used help, like carrying luggage, but the staff offered no assistance. Room service is also lacking. Due to issues created through language barriers, we were not able to effectively communicate with the staff, which led to several misunderstandings and, once, being hung up on. This also leads me to the food, which was extremely lacking in flavor and variety despite the high cost. For example, there were several breakfasts where there were simply no options to eat other than Western food, like bread pudding, bacon, or beans. Since we were at a resort in Thailand, I really expected many more Thai food options than we ever got.
In addition to the poor quality of food, restaurants often had high wait times for food to be served or was forgotten about completely. As an example, we waited nearly 40 minutes on a salad at the Bamboo bar. When we went back later, it was over an hour and it was clear the server simply forgot about the order.
Overall, I'm disappointed with our experience at a five-star resort. The grounds were stunning and we loved the Panwa house, but everything else was underwhelming. We will not be back.

The cape absolute was amazing, and our butler (chai) was so helpful and friendly. We had an amazing family vacation.

I really enjoyed the spacious room and the private beach

We stayed 3 nights in a junior sea view suite. The view from our room was beautiful. Our room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed going to Too of the Reef for dinner and Otters Bar for drinks, listening to a talented singer/pianist name Ice perform.

nice resort with restaurants nearby. However the seaview room is almost fully blocked by trees with only a glimpse of ocean... service at the breakfast buffet is also lacking

Great hotel and amazing beach. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Phuket.

Services and hospitality of staffs make me like this hotel but the cleanliness inside the room really need the upgraded. Room has unpleasant smell of mold which I found everywhere (on balcony bench, room sub curtain and rubber seal in the bathroom ewwwwww).

The overall Service is satisfying. The hotel gave us two complimentary cakes to celebrate my birthday. The only thing to improve is the clogged toilet. We need help to unclog the toilet everyday, which is annoying.

Seems to be geared to seniors. Rooms very nice. Breakfast very good. Had Junior Suite. Overall nice but not worth $350 per night for 3 in a room.

I first stayed at this hotel approx. 5 years ago. Still a fantastic place today if you want a more quiet Phuket stay. Great staff, good food.

Hotel is near the beach and rooms are very nice. Service was not good as no one helped with our bags on check in and check out. Bell boys just sat by and watched. We requested garbage to be cleared out from our room while we were away, but they did not do it and we had request again before it was done.

The grounds and Gardens are impeccable. Kept pristine each day. Attended beach wedding here and can’t say enough good things about this place.

The resort itself was great. nice pool. 3 places to eat and drink. big selection at breakfast a plus. (having said that i was disappointed by the orange juice, not the delicious fresh thai orange juice i love so much) the private beach is beautiful, but wear water shoes as there is a lot of coral once you get past the sandy area, also bring goggles, there are lots of fish to see at low to mid tide. overall it's pretty tame at the hotel, not a party crowd, good for some quiet relaxation. the suite was very nice, includes a balcony with hot tub. there is a bus to town that goes back and forth every 5 minutes, convenient because of the big hill you would other wise have to walk. the local area is pretty sparse however, just a small night market with basic souvenir type wares for sale, and some street food. restaurants in the area however are very good, and affordable. overall, absolute paradise!

I have a major problem with how the Expedia reservation was handled. Despite the email confirmation that tells us we can choose to buy NYE tickets on arrival, we were actually already charged in full. And yet on arrival, no one deigned to even tell us we should reserve our seats. So even though we had booked eight weeks ago, we were left with the LAST choices for seats. Unclassy on both Expedia and the hotels part.Secondly, this is no doubt a beautiful property with otherwise lovely hardworking staff. But it is entirely geared towards Europeans. The breakfast buffet is a joke. Huge but you might as well be in Europe what with all the sausage. The few loca Thai options almost all have meat-yay for fried rice every single day. The pool is stunning. But there is limited canopied seats and despite signage warning people their seats will be taken if they leave for more than an hour, every single day we saw people reserve seats with nothing more than a towel and leave for leisurely breakfasts or whatever else. Don’t expect to get a seat even at 3pm because of this. Nothing is done by the staff of course. We had a beautiful cape suite with a stunning view from the balcony. The beach is quite nice. Also, Panwa House offers amazing food and is beautiful. But I wouldn’t stay here again. If you’re looking for an impersonal giant resort then sure this is your place.

Hotel rooms a little tired and could do with thorough clean. Absolutely appalled by the amount of trash plastic and string on the beach and in the ocean.

Hotel had a beautiful setting at the end of the Cape, a five minute walk from the local town. Private beach was the highlight but with an easterly facing aspect the sun was gone by 3pm each day. Breakfast was varied and good and staff were very helpful. Some of the dining options are in the sister hotel (Kantary Bay) in the local town and a steady stream of weddings and functions meant that at least one restaurant was fully booked out most nights. Plenty of massage options close by and cheap laundry services. Local dining options are good with Thai and Indian food, much better value than the hotel for the budget conscious. Overall a very relaxing and calm place to recharge the batteries.

Hotel is beautiful. Well maintained. Beach is gorgeous but you can’t swim at all. Rocky bottom and coral debris everywhere. Hotel should tell in advance so the customer is prepared with right shoe. I didn’t enjoy swimming at all because of the rocks. Hotel is located in the middle of nowhere. You can’t go out without hiring an expensive taxi provided only by hotel. Shuttle to Airport was extremely and ridiculously expensive. The most expensive taxi I’ve ever paid in my whole life. I won’t ever stay at this hotel. Prices are ridiculous. The customer is trapped at the hotel so if you want to go out, there is no other way than paying expensive taxi . WiFi doesn’t work so you can’t use grab for another taxi option. So disappointed!!

Stayed at Cape Panwa Hotel during Phuket Race Week (july 2018). Great location as the event was run from the hoitel. Friendly, helpful staff with good food selections and nice amenities. Might be a bit out of the way for some people but close enough to Phuket Town for exploring or a night out on the town.

Beautiful beach and good food. Pool areas a bit tired looking but still relaxing. Showing its age but still special.

We got married here and it was an amazing experience and more than we could have ever hoped for. Nothing was too much for Aom who is amazing. The hotel itself was great and the beach is beautiful. Breakfast selection is really good and the views from breakfast are fantastic. Plenty of loungers around the pools and beach.

Very good hotel: professional stuff, clean and very comfortable room, well-groomed territory but sea and beach are not clean.

Old building, not like pictures u see, dirty and the beach and restaurants are very bad. The area is very dead. We checked out after first nighg and moved to Laguna which was so amazing

It is an old hotel with its heyday in the 90ties. It is not trendy, modern, cool!
Front of the hotel is a large parking lot and back of the hotel has a nice view over the bay. But the pool area is facing away from the nice view and onto the hotel building (not very attractive)
The pool itself is old and loungers are visibly old. It's just not very nice.
Breakfast is ok - bit basic for a 5 star hotel and it feels like an impersonal canteen but there is a choice of food.
Beach area is tragic - it's at the bottom of the resort and it's a mess. All loungers are on top of each other at all different angles, nobody really manages that. There is no privacy since everyone is on top of everyone else.
Some people end up with 2 umbrellas and some with none. There are waiters only but no staff who would help manage the chaos. We ended up at the pool but it's not very nice and has no sea view.
The crowd is mostly older and there are Thompson holiday reps and guests. I'd not stay there since it's quite expensive and it's really quite disappointing.

We had no idea that in July the weather would be so foul on the West Coast of Phuket. The seas are raging and there is no chance for safe swimming or snorkeling. Also the West Coast is home to a large tacky element and has no soul or realness about it. After five days there we caught a taxi to the East Coast looking for an alternative for the rest of our holiday.
We visited several hotels. Cape Panwa had a beautiful relaxed tranquil holiday resort feel. We met Tim who is British in origin and sits at the front desk as the hotel activities officer. He made us feel completely at home and broke the ice helping us to trust in the experience of Cape Panwa. So we booked on hotels.com to stay the rest of our holiday time at this hotel.
All the staff are fantastic and friendly and focused on you having a great time. Tim seems to be there every day all day chatting in a friendly manner to guests while working hard to make sure their holidays are great. Every hotel needs an exceptional liaison officer like this but unfortunately very very few do have one.
I have stayed at many hotels and resorts throughout the world and would rate our experience as among the best of any. All this, given that we had been so disappointed on the other side of Phuket Island

Lovely resort, calm beach, just wonderful. Breakfast was really good, wide selection of Western/Asian, freshly cut fruit, etc. We recommend having dinner at Panwa House. Even though it is described as "fine dining", however the prices are almost the same as in the Cafe upstairs. It's a lovely house and you can have dinner on the beach. The Otter Bar is lovely. Unless you really want to do some water activities (banana boat, etc), we'd advise not to waste your day going to Coral Island. That is the "mass tourism" island with boats brining in masses of people = loud. Enjoy!

so nice place and surly return back
