Needs a better airflow in the room. The room was stuffy needs a bigger fan, more outlets too

We checked in a room of 4.
There is only 1 window and only 1 small fan. No AC at all.
We had so much problems with sleeping in that hot
Room
Whole night .

Nice staff, Clean, Basic but good for short stays

Building work around the hotel. An unkempt part of Wellington, but my stay at the hotel was very good

It was not for me. There's a hostel side and a hotel side, and the hostel side was kind of gross. I did not like that they didn't have a single full sized sink. Everything felt dirty, I never saw more than one cleaning lady handling all the rooms and bathroom and kitchen. The sheets and bedding were clean, the pillow was questionable. They do give you a towel, so that was nice. And the staff were really friendly and helpful.
Overall though, I don't mind things not being perfectly clean, but I constantly felt like there was a small layer of grime over everything.

Very pleasant accommodation, warm and cosy. Good amenities and friendly, helpful staff.
Look forward to staying there again on my next visit to Wellington.

I have stayed here many times over the years when working in Wellington, it's a real neat place to stay. I will keep booking as it suits my needs, it's always clean and tidy and the whole vibe is positive. keep doing what your doing guys, it really does work

Always a consistently enjoyable stay at The Cambridge...great staff, food and location!!

I like the capsule hotel experience like Japan. Just noisy and poor menu. Taxi was stressful to airport, not knowing.

I think once their renovations are complete, this will be a lovely place to stay. Unfortunately, I felt that it was tired and run down.

A bit disappointing - a lot of noise from the pub below and the women's bathroom wasn't particularly clean.

I dropped off my luggage and dashed out without really looking at the room- my last stay there - it’s a scrappy but charming pub hotel for those who don’t mind a slightly restored but still worn-down place - the desk closes at 10 pm and after dinner I arrived back to see really alarming brown material in the very worn carpet. Mud? Let’s hope so. The veery desk chap said in the morning: So sorry. That’s terrible.
If you stay here, inspect the room before you accept it. They did say carpets would be replaced in April. No help for my stay however.

Hot. LOUD. got no sleep.

The hotel is starting to look run down. It needs some money spent on it.

Good location, close to museum, restaurants and shop. A little bit noisy at night because of the bar on the ground floor.

Great stay for the price.

The property was definitely “tired”. Room very small.
Man at registration desk was VERY helpful.

Couldn’t get into the room after long this from Picton. Very disappointed.

Despite being a last minute booking, price was great. Close to everything.

Loved the location! The property is pretty neat too - definitely keeps its 1883 vibes while still having clean and comfortable rooms. Was nice to have the laundry services and pub too.

Bathroom disgusting and mouldy, dark and dingy hallways, worst motel ive ever steyed at.
3.0
Dingy, beat up, worn out. Cramped. Ancient. The room was dull with totally worn out carpeting, yellow paint. This room was a catastrophe, looks NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING like the photos on its website or in the Expedia app. The shower and bathroom were the only things it had going for it. The window has no lock on it. Shameful of them to charge us full price.

A very old, dated property which could do with a refurbishment. Having said that, the bedding was lovely and clean (although the 'legs' on my bed were 2 planks of wood laid on the floor) as were the towels and bathroom. Very quirky place with good location and very reasonably priced. A little TLC would make it a gem.

Convenient location and serviceable amenities.

2nd floor ladies bathroom broken shower head.

The place is huge, but there isn't much showers. The one on my floor didn't have hot water, one of the two was also broken so a lot of water gathered. The laundry wasn't working but they did offer the staff one for free between a certain time which was nice.

Fabulous stay. Has a positively, relaxed energy about the place. Thus, I shall return

Nice room, bed ok, bathroom nice but cleaner needs to look up and remove mould spots off ceiling. TV channels very limited and couldn't get ordinary TV. Parking fees the downside of this elegant heritage hotel. Loved the old movie style lift.
3.0
Great location. Parking is a pain, there’s an outdoor paid car park across the road but it’s $40 / day. We had a room facing the main road, old sash windows plus busy road equals lots of noise. And I mean LOTS. Monday morning must’ve been recycling for the pub downstairs too, circa 5am. Suggest getting a room away from the street - everything else is fine for the price.

Stafff were excellent and the room quite comfortable. The windows were very dirty and certainly need cleaning
2.0
Good value. Huge bed and initial impressions good although tiny bathroom sink awkward and certainly couldn’t fill kettle BUT when we returned from show at 11 at night our room swipe didn’t work. There was no number at reception to ring. Tried to ring hotel number but dead end. I think that’s problematic from a security and emergency point if view. Gas fire on in reception area and a girl weeping in corner. We knew Wellington was full so finally just as we were about to leave and drive home to Masterton when staff emerged from gaming bar and managed to get one to help. Very stressful experience. Shower slippery in morning and husband fell and nearly broke elbow. No one in reception 8am and no instructions recheckout
