We were a family of 4 staying for 11 days in a one bedroom suite. Our rooms were very spacious and comfortable (the beds were great), the kitchen was sufficient though we barely used it to cook as food was available relatively nearby and cheaply, and the bathroom was also generous in size. The shower strength was not great but that's a small thing to note. The wifi was not always reliable so if possible, get yourself a SIM card with data to use.
The rest of the hotel facilities were nice. The swimming pool was of a decent size, the games room was a hit with the kids, and the included breakfast was very good (mostly Chinese offerings with a few limited other options such as cereal).
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I can manage some Chinese so we never tried to communicate in English - I'm not sure how fluent they are in English. They helped us to arrange a taxi for a day trip one day and even arranged a lovely bag of goodies for my son whose birthday occurred during our stay.
It is walkable to Tianfu Square and the closest metro station was about a 5-10 minute walk away. The coffee shop next door was very good (but expensive compared to other establishments) and there is a 7 Eleven on the other side of the coffee shop.
We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it highly.

It’s a great experience. The front desk staffs and housekeepers were all very friendly and professional. Highly appreciated several front desk ladies, so nice and helpful to arrange us to switch room. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The hotel is located at the center Chengdu, easy to access many tourist attractions. I’d to choose this hotel again next time when back to Chengdu.

The Somerset is perfect for my needs. It provides a high quality living space for long stays in Chengdu. The bed of extremely comfortable, there is lots of cupboard space, the kitchen is well equipped and modern, the furnishings are good quality and the living space is very generous

The property is huge and comfortable. It was at the great locations, breakfast was lots to choose from, and king size bed was really comfortable.
Only thing that I didn’t like was the pillow which had smell of goose. I used a towel to cover up and it did not bother me after all but I wish their pillow was better.

This was my first time staying at Somerset Riverview in Chengdu.
The rooms were clean and they upgraded my booking to a bigger suite. The kitchen and laundry amenities were amazing, I was able to heat up my food and do my laundries during my stay.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful, from front desk, housekeepers to securities.

Located in the center of the city, easy to go to any where by walking or any kinds of transportation. Huge room with kitchen, washer and dryer in the unit. Front desk and cleaning staff are is very friendly. Super convenient for family. I would love to stay again.

The location is convenient. The rooms are large. The toilets are nice but the only issue I had was a) the heating didn’t work. I think the whole building had it turned off as it was cold and I turned all the heating on for the AC and it was not turning out hot air.
B) there is a massive construction site next door and they work at night. I had to change rooms because of the noise. Basically the end room the executive one bedroom suite (the bedroom) faces the construction site. It’s pretty impossible to sleep in if you’re a light sleeper. I had to request to change to the river facing room for a good nights sleep. So my advice is not to get the executive suite but to get the other 1 bedroom premier and request river facing unit.

We initially were placed in a room and then on the second night @ 6pm was asked to move out by the hotel staff as the hotel made a mistake in room allocation. the hotel staff didn't offer any compensation or assistance in moving and demanded we move out of the room they placed us in initially within the hour.
they then placed us in a room with no air conditioner when it was nearly 30C outside. the inside temperature of the room was 27C. I complained over and over and eventually the air conditioner was fixed for one night then it broke again. when requested for room change the hotel staff insisted that there were no rooms available and refused to put us into one of the bigger suites. eventually after 3 days of pestering on my part the hotel agreed to move us into a larger room but insisted on us paying for the different in room charge and refused any compensation.
we had registered the room for a party of 4 adults and a 2 year old, somehow, the hotel initially allowed us all to have breakfast but when we got moved into the larger suite which we had to pay additional due to the broken air-con and the broken appliances, the hotel decided that only 2 adults can have breakfast and demanded additional 53Yuan for each additional person for breakfast.

We had a comfortable 2 bedroom apartment in central Chengdu.
Beds bathroom lounge etc were very comfortable
The apartment was a little tired and in need of some renewal. Wifi was only just good enough
The facilities - pool table, table tennis, swimming pool were excellent.
Breakfast was quite good but would have been better with more fruit, bread rolls, more coffee making facilities and enough tables!
We were however very comfortable. We visited panda research centre - a real highlight and leshan, emeishan. Really enjoyable
