We stay at LaQuinta frequently. This was our first time in Bismarck. Checkin was fine, but after that we were less than impressed. The room was mostly clean, but the breakfast area was usually in need of attention. The high chairs were absolutely disgusting. I grabbed under the tray to adjust it and got a handful of some goop. Breakfast ended at 10am; we were down there at 8:30am and there was almost zero food. We waited 35 minutes and nothing was refilled. Because our trip plans changed we had two reservations for our stay. When I attempted to check out and then back in for the 2nd night the front desk agent told me she couldn’t do that. She said if I checked out then they would cancel my reservation (?). Then said we would have to checkout and move rooms. Again, why? It was the same room type. I had to wait for a couple hours for the issue to get figured out. The pool was pretty cold and there was something brown floating in the foam of the hot tub. Day 2 we were woken up by the fire alarm. Then after being allowed to return to our room we didn’t have water for an hour. Front desk was super rude when we asked when to expect it to be restored. The biggest issue though was that we had the DND on our door. Housekeeping ignored the sign and attempted to enter our room. Thankfully we had the bolt on. Zero apologies. Just said she was supposed to refresh the room.

The staff was very helpful and kind, even if only 1 person was on staff at the time. The beds and pillow weren't very comfortable, and our pullout bed was bent and tilted, but otherwise it was a clean and friendly place to stay.

Worst front desk personnel in the world. A young lady that was supposed to be working the front desk disappeared for over 45 minutes. People were lined up in the lobby waiting. Some left and didn't return. I had prepaid online and didn't have a choice. When she finally did show up she had a very strong smell of marijuana. She claimed she'd been in the bathroom. Proceeded to check the line of guests in, was rude to some of them. I finally got to my room and discovered the heat/ac unit did not work. I went down to the front desk to ask for maintenance or some solution. Its been 30 minutes and still no one has called or showed up to look at it. So far.... zero stars and i will be disputing the charge on my card and calling the manager and general manager

I don’t usually put reviews in, but this motel was not what we expected. We didn’t have any hot water for showers in the mornings and when we call the front desk all they tell us is the maintenance man doesn’t come in on the weekends. The beds are old, loud and saggy. The air conditioner did not keep temperatures cool at all. It kept shutting off. Come to find out the entire thermostat had been removed from the wall.

Overall the stay was average. The service at the front desk was fine. However the shower in my room had hair left and my dog immediately found chewed gum and sunflower seeds on the floor. Breakfast was as expected in a hotel like this - it only goes to 9, which seems early when check out is 12.

Our stay was not good. The TV in our room would play for a minute or two and then freeze up. When I called the front desk, I was told the maintenance guy had left for the night and they had already received many calls on the problem. When we went to the hot tub, door said no food allowed, there was frosting smeared around the hot tub and cupcake wrappers lying on the ground. In the morning, breakfast only had two apples available. The floor in-front of the waffle maker was sticky. The hosts did nothing to clean it up while we were there. At checkout I expressed the problems and was told since I had booked through a 3rd party, there was nothing they could do. I asked what if I had booked directly? The desk person said I would have received 25-50% off my bill!! LaQuinta is on my do not stay list, especially this one in Bismarck, ND.

Family stay over night price was good. Room was nice beds we’re comfortable. The pool had way too much chlorine in it. You walked in and it start burning your eyes just being in the pool area.

Horrible stay- the hotel was in poor condition, elevator and ice machine broken and the breakfast was mediocre. The worse part is that there was no one at the front desk for most of the Saturday we were there. I will not be staying here again.

Taylor was extremely helpful - the TV was not working and she as a manager came and repaired it herself and was extremely kind, sweet, and knowledgeable. She was awesome. Big Mahalo to her and the staff there.

Some well worn areas in suite but still expected at price point, clean rooms and decent breakfast. Parking lot tight if you have a bigger vehicle or pulling a trailer. Pool no longer has slide, pictures should be updated.

Our family stayed two nights for a soccer tournament and both mornings I got in the shower at 5:00am and had cold showers. I’m not talking luke warm, I’m talking COLD. It was absolutely miserable and when I told the front desk, they could have cared less. He gave a half hearted apology and sent me on my way. Besides the shower situation, everything else was fine. Moderately clean, decent breakfast and the beds, although hard, were still good enough to get some rest.

This was an amazing stay. We walked in to be offered a complementary supper, which was such a surprise. They helped us every stretch of the way. All the staff was amazing. The room was super clean. The lady at the breakfast buffet was more than gracious with us, I will come back to this hotel again.

We have stayed at this hotel probably 8 times in the past year to year and a half. Its our absolute favorite hotel in Bismarck. Unfortunately, out of the last 8 visits, all but one or two has been comfortable. We love everything about the hotel except the lukewarm, nearly cold, showers. Of the 8 or so visits, including at least 14 total nights, we've only had 2 days if "hot" showers. The last visit i literally has goosebumps as I quickly showered and got out. We've pushed the water handle all the way to "full blast" hot and have barely warm water. I don't know if its because of all the work thats being done on the pool area (which seems to be taking an extraordinarily long time), or if their thermostat on the hot water heater(s) isn't high enough, or if their hotwater heater(s) cant handle the volume of guests....but I know that its miserable having lukewarm showers and goosebumps when you're trying to shower. So, for now, we're left with no other choice but to find a new property to stay at while visiting Bismarck....and thats tough since we love this hotel otherwise.

We chose the hotel because if the pool. We brought our 3 boys, who were so excited to swim, to a weekend getaway just to find out the pool was out of commission. We were all so very disappointed. Had we been notified during the booking process, we could have made other arrangements.

Room was bigger than expected as well as the bathroom, which was nice. However the fan in the bathroom was loud and came on with the light. Bathroom and floor was cold. Also could not shut drapes for the window.

Desk clerk was excellent and very friendly, room was neat but the floor was dirty. The bathroom was kind of gross, the floor had food crumbs and hair. Two of my towels had hair on them and the shower wall had some random hairs.

Overall it was great. Very clean. Staff were very kind. We reserved at room that sleeps 6 but they gave us a room that slept 4. We were very crowded and the bed they brought in took up the wall way to the bathroom. One person slept in the floor.
