My fifteenth time staying here. An oasis in the desert. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Housekeeping is not what it used to be...they replace the towels and make the bed, but don't clean the floor which gets grittier every consecutive day. Limited office hours.

Poor bed and pillows. Room door to outside had wide gap that that you could see through, and let a lot of cold and wind into the room

I don’t come to Hanksville often (second visit), but when I do, I will stay at whispering Sands. All expectations were have been exceeded during both stays. Everything from the linens to the toiletries to the Internet to the comfort of the bed was top-notch.

Very clean and comfortable. My room had a jetted tub which worked great. Furnishings above average for a motel. WiFi happened to be out but I’m sure this was an aberration.

Easy, simple check-in after long day driving. Front desk woman was super nice and helpful. Room was cute and there was a local, quick diner right behind our room, so that was a great bonus after such a long day! Would definitely stay here again!

The room was clean and comfortable. It has ample parking if your pulling a atv trailer. The lady at the frint desk was friendly and helpful. The small town was sweet.

The room was very nice, just recently renovated but the show rod was really rusted and the Mirror had defects. When walking in to check in, we had to ring the bell 3 times and then I actually had to shout out in the house to get service twice.

Sparkling clean and friendly place in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are well equipped with all the necessary amenities, the furniture is new, the shower is in great condition. We enjoyed the local grill bar menu and had a great sleep. Check in and check out were quite convenient.
There's not much cons - just the noise from the parking cats and the traffic outside, but one cannot really blame the hotel for that.

Suffocating use of chemicals and heavy perfume in the rooms. Unable to breathe. If have asthma or allergies do NOT stay there!

The room was quite dirty. Floors, lots of long hair all over, even in the bathtub. I have short hair so I know it wasn’t mine.
Lots of dirt on the floor.
I understand it’s a desert area so the floors get dirty quickly however it would have been nice to be clean on arrival.
This unit was at the end of the hotel, closest to the road and traffic was noisy at times. Some ATV also were riding close to the room making it very noisy at times.
Location close to the gas station and convenience stores was great.
Staff at the front desk was friendly.
Overall it was quite average due to the dirty room on arrival.

We were in town for some canyoneering in the Northwash area for the eclips. We stayed at the Whispering Sands for one night to shower and do some laundry at a local laundry mat. The room was comfortable, clean and we were able to get a good nights rest before heading back out in the desert for some more camping and canyoneering.

This town chosen for proximity to Goblin Valley State Park, and this appears to be the best accommodation in town. Comfortable stay with good facilities in room.
